Regardless of bumpy beginnings it is important to become one with the water and your heart be as light as a feather. While in the kayak the waves were a little rough getting past initial hurdle then it was smooth sailing--in other words, first it was sour then it was sweet. As a group we all paddled out to some of the coves of La Jolla for exploration. If you enjoy the ocean and swimming you will love this tour. The La Jolla kayak company have tours and rentals to make exploring the great blue pacific possible. Reservations were easy to make; They also sell items needed including sunblock and lockers for a fee. I forgot my waterproof camera case and they had a few on hand to be borrowed. As mentioned previously, we all paddled out to the coves to frolic in the ocean with marine life. I slip into the ocean, from the kayak, and I was in awe. You'll be amazed at what you see under the sea. I seen the cute orange fish to leopard sharks. No need to fret the leopards are docile--I highly recommend. #VitaminSea #OceanLove #LikeILikeCountryMusic #DefyingAugustHeat "Antioxidants are also found in grounding, sunlight, ocean air, and in nature in general."

Awesome service and forever grateful to Nicolas - you saved our 1 year anniversary! Amazing service - quick clear instructions, very considerate, warned us about any possible problems explained how to row in the kayak as it was our first time and we had a tandem kayak. After he explained us how to put it in the water and not to roll over, we went and did it first try - no problems. We locked the wheels to the wooden fence so that nobody steels them (they are used to transport the kayak easier so that you don't have to carry it in your hands). We saw the sunset and peaked in the cave which was very exciting. Don't go inside the caves if you are renting on your own as the tides can be very unpredictable and you can roll over or hit the rocks - this is also illegal and only allowed during guided tours. Value point is amazing too. For a tandem it's 35$ (39.22$ with tax) and solo is 30$. All the guided tours were 80$+ and I don't really see the point them if you can go with these guys for only 35$. We did a full one hour but I am not sure how long you can usually go we came pretty late before the closing time. If you want to get the guided tours during the winter times the last ones usually depart at 2:30 so make sure you make it in time!

Due to my poor planning, we were on our way to the bay to visit a local competitor's business, when I realized that I needed a reservation. Cue my panic and frantic internet searches, I gave SUP California a call at 3:30pm on a Tuesday in the middle of July (peak season) and they were able to get us two SUP boards. I made payment over the phone and within 15 minutes of the call, they met us exactly where Google maps tells us to be. We signed some liability waivers on their phone and were on our way! They provided us with life jackets, but we had our own for the dog (not sure if they carry dog jackets, so please talk to them before assuming). Overall, it was a great experience, they gave us pointers on where to take off from, areas to explore, and landmarks to look for on our way back. We called them when we were done and within 10 minutes, they were back and collected the items. I had a wonderful time and will gladly recommend them!

Ben was personable, gave me tips on where to go based on the weather conditions, and had excellent customer service. I paid $50 with taxes for the epoxy paddle board (the foam board is $4 cheaper) and got to use it for up to 5hrs. When you're done, you just give them a call, and they meet you within 10-15min to pick up the equipment. I highly recommend SUP, and I would use them again!

I came here at 6:45am and was able to find parking literally right at the cove, so come early, its worth it. Lots of wildlife hanging out there. I saw a bunch of sea lions sleeping, tons of cormorants and lots of badass pelicans flying and scooping down for food. By 7am, I was in the water and there were already plenty of people here. I tried out my wetsuit with all my gear and everything worked well. I wasn't too hot in my 4/3 wetsuits. Visibility was crap today and couldn't see much. I'll have to come back again to see if visibility improves. I got out in 30 minutes, no point wasting time with cloudiness. I used the local showers to get the sand and saltwater off myself and gear. Public bathrooms also available. After getting out, I walked around a bit and it was a lovely day. Beautiful area, no wonder everyone likes coming here. I'll be back!

SEA LIONS: 10/10 For entertainment and humor! Making all those weird noises really lighten up the cove! SMELL: 4/10 It really stinks! It smells like sewage and salt... SUNSET: 10/10 Totally worth the wait. The sun sets at around 7:30pm. Lots of people were taking pictures... We then walked over to CRAB CITY for dinner!! And HAGEN DAZ FOR dessert!!! THE LA JOLLA COVE WAS WORTH IT!!!!!
