The infamous fish and chips !
    Aerin A.

Came here late afternoon/early evening and this place was packed !! Apparently they host a radio show every week and there are also other events that are often hosted in the other half of the restaurant...so plan accordingly! I ordered the infamous chipotle lime wings and the fish and chips w/spicy mayo and ketchup . As other reviews highlighted...it was the best fish and chips I ever had and the wings are as good as they look in pictures . They were extremely tasty especially with the aioli they give you . I also ordered a flight of beer which included a fruity four and a beer made with crickets which probably was my favorite ale of the evening ! Come here for both classic and interesting twists on classic pub fare . Highly recommend!

Enjoyed a nice snack here today after walking miles. It was nice to be in a less touristy area where it was more quiet. I enjoyed a glass of rose, the croquet is which are basically chicken nuggets with some cheese. The pickled vegetables were different and very good. The spicy Mayo dip was delicious. The beigne fraises was divine, but I could not eat it all. The patio was simple but relaxing. The server was attentive and very helpful.

Grapefruit sangria - weak & watery

Really sluggish, uneven and inattentive service means no return visits and a recommendation to skip La Korrigane. I understand staff shortages, new employees, but we watched as parties seated after us were served before us. Drinks sat empty, they were watery to begin anyway, saddest sangria I've had in QC. It was a good 45 minutes (the looped music started repeating) before we could catch our server's attention to request more drinks and order food. We were considering bailing when our server finally came over. He said, "oh, I thought you weren't ordering food." Based on what? Your zero interaction with us since you dropped off the drinks? Way to ASSume your way out of more money and a decent tip, pal. Food was average to low average for the area, fish n chips were nothing spectacular. We wasted 1.5h on a Saturday night at this place. The outdoor seating has an odour of old grease, must be close to a kitchen vent or waste storage area on the side closest to the old post office. Other than that the patio is a pleasant venue. Not worth your time, not even for drinks based on our experience.

Stopped for a beer. Great little place. Decent pricing. Beautiful day for the patio. Service was fine. They also serve food.

It was a rainy holiday night (Thanksgiving) and we four tourists were looking for a place to have a drink and some eats. Thankfully we found this place not too far from our hotel. We were welcomed and brought nice drinks and delicious poutine and mac n cheese. Just what the doctor ordered! Would definitely recommend.

Amazing selection of house beers, we loved the Sedna and the fruity Sour (forget the name). Veggie burger was excellent choice. Teen loved the "chimi" poutine. Service was friendly and helpful.

This was our first place to grab a bite while waiting to check into our hotel (that I wrote a bad review for due to service). We came here b/c we wanted a "quick" bite but if we knew our room would have taken a bit longer to check in, then maybe we wouldn't have found this place. I ordered the chimi poutine and something was off about the dish. It was bad but it wasn't great either. I barely made a dent in it and just picked at the fries and the chimichurri sauce. My bf and son's buddy ordered fish N chips with curry mayo on the side for the fries. The curry mayo was BOMB! The fish N Chips batter was lightly battered and crunchy -- scrumptious! It didn't come in a whole big piece like they do it here in New England. Instead, they were a few medium pieces but still filling. My other son ordered a burger which he devoured. If it wasn't good, there would be leftovers. They seating inside and outside patio--which we chose the patio. The seats were a bit small for my butt so maybe we should have sat inside where there's bench seating. (or maybe I should just lose weight on my butt). The service was wonderful...friendly people.

Korrigane's platter and kimchi quail eggs

We loved our experience here! We visited Saturday 02/24/2024. The bartender working was attentive, kind and made great recommendations. He was there when we needed him, but not overbearing. It was probably our favorite food that we ate during our visit to QC. We ordered the kimchi quail eggs and the Korrigane's platter (despite being a little wary of the fish items). We loved both! It made for a nice snacking lunch that left us satisfied, but not too stuffed. We also really enjoyed our beers - particularly Pimbina! Such a nice refreshing sour beer. OMG and the beer donut! It was so good, I'm still thinking about it almost a week later. I wish we had grabbed two instead of one to share. We both agreed that if we had been staying in QC for longer, we definitely would have returned to try more beers and food. Don't hesitate to visit!

First of all. Go. You like to try a flight of five beers this evening? Sure! 9.35(?)CAD. Your poutine getting a bit ordinary when eating at Chez Ashton? Then please go to the #Korrigane and try the Chimi version?! You say Chili is your bag? You Texan you? Or wanna be? Gotta get either the Tofu version that is our server, Edwin's favorite, or my dad's which is a boeuf version. For those that are foreign to the Arcadian tongue and who'd like to be a Colombian like me my dad and Edwin? That's beef, cow and res yousall! K I know it's been ages since I posted a review? Right. Because nothing inspired me 'till now. No need for any Banshees here! Come and join in the open Mike night instead. Or enjoy a local up and coming band. Quebec welcomes you! Alors, venez et souviens après votre temps en province! See interior video here and my further antics: https://www.facebook.com/natasha.penso/videos/10212357063534391/ enjoy. And to the owner... Thank you for giving my paisan a chance to learn the language and better appreciate French/Arcadian culture. His English WILL improve. Edwin no me vas hacer quedar mal. O sino pampam!!!!!

Stopped in for a late afternoon snack and some beers. I was pleasantly surprised by how friendly and attentive the bartenders were. They took the time to explain everything we needed to know about it the house brewed beers on tap and let us try some before committing. We got a salad and it was delicious along with the poutine. My impression was that the place is a popular after work spot for younger professionals in the area. Many groups of 30 somethings and it had a fun vibe. It looks like they host a lot of events based on the advertisements. Parking was plentiful on the street with metered spots.

Decent food. Poutine was good but was hoping for the cheese curds to melt more... Was more chewy than melted. Good portion size ! The chicken burger was alright, nothing that stood out. Guac was decent as well, can't complain. We decided to try the beer flight. Majority of the selection was not that good. We let the restaurant choose a few light and dark drinks they thought were the best but just didn't feel it. I like the fact that it has outdoor seating. They also had karaoke which was awesome lol Saturday night singing is awesome to hear when ppl are drunk.

Came in around 5:30 and was seated immediately. Our server was quite knowledgeable about their beer offerings and the menu has suggestions on beer pairings with your meal. Will definitely be back for the Kraken IPA. The place has a lot of seating at tables and at the bar and even has a couch with table. La Korrigane has a menu in English as well from what I recall. Poutine was tasty, different from what you would get at La Banquise in Montreal, wish it had more gravy. Mac and Cheese was alright as well, nothing to write home about. Beer selection was fantastic!

Nice pub. The Kraken IPA is a nice ale, but not as hoppy as you'd expect for an IPA. The burger was good with salad and french fires.

Everything on everyone's tables looked good but it was a matter of timing; This was a beer stop only and for that too, Griendel, with its inviting outdoor seats and friendly staff was great. Outside of the area most tourists in Quebec City will discover, Griendel was very near my airbnb which - I believe - was in Saint-Sauveur. There's a few blocks of cafes and shops in this neighborhood and I discovered them days before realizing that Saint-Roch, with its onslaught of cafes and shops, was down the same road only a short walk away. Regardless, this seemed like a place the hip young locals love and I could get behind what they were offering. A wide array of craft beer was offered and though I'm generally not much of a beer fan, I really got into the one I chose: Blanche au Citron Meyer et aux Poivres (aka #Patelle, 4.8% alcohol). I don't know French but correctly deduced that this beer contained Meyer Lemon and on a humid, hot afternoon that was enough to sell me. IPAs also received high marks. Come for the beer but if you stay for the food I doubt it'll disappoint.

All crepes are freshly cooked on traditional billig iron griddles, available in both savory and sweet flavors. I tried the duck confit with goat cheese, and it was incredible. Pair it with local cider or fresh Guinness draft beer, and your taste buds will be totally satisfied. A well-loved spot on Rue Saint-Jean in Old Quebec. Expect a short wait on weekends. The meal was mostly a hit with the shredded duck savory crepes a big hit. The French Onion soup was also very delicious! The only miss was the La Cannoise, with ricotta, spinach, olives, tomato sauce, egg and pesto which was not a hit. Just a weird combination of flavors that I guess I don't find mesh well, this dish was mostly left behind. Service was really friendly and helpful.

Right? Well, at Le Sacrement that's not quite the case; the beer list is extensive, but the food sucks. There's also something about a sticky table that doesn't quite say "bistro dining". DO NOT order a burger here - it tastes like shoe leather and I would be shocked to learn it wasn't frozen and premade by a wholesaler. My boyfriend literally said, "if I wanted to eat a burnt burger from Costco, I could have done it at home". The people next to us had the ribs and the salmon tartar - the ribs were also probably ordered in from a wholesaler (they looked so dry and sticky) and the tartar plate was measly for the price charged. To be blunt, I won't be coming back and would recommend you don't waste your hard-earned money here either - unless you're in need of a few pints and a meatpuck before heading to the rink behind the restaurant.
