Always a lovely experience at La Madeleine. This particular visit we picked up some brunch--Country French Breakfast and Croque Madame. We also picked up some coffee crème brûlée. Everything tasted fresh and phenomenal. The staff was friendly and accommodating, and made the environment comfortable (even in the short time we were there waiting on our to-go order).

A great combo: chicken Caesar sandwich with tomato soup. The soup has always tasted pretty basic and tarte on its own and the sandwich tastes subpar by itself, but both together - it tastes better.

The food was and is always good. The salad was fresh, the soup delicious and the bread soft with a slight crunch on the outside. The service was so so. I stood there in front of the salad station for a while and there were 2 ladies talking and did not acknowledge me. After a bit a male who was farther down asked me if I needed help so I said I would like a salad. He talked to the ladies in Spanish then they came and helped me. The older lady at the register was very friendly.

the food is bland and unauthentic from here. the cream in the tart was not tasty. the crème brûlée was way too liquidy.

I ordered the creamy pesto pasta for takeout. The to go portion is laughable... this looks like someone ate half of it.

This location in Meyerland used to be my favorite until today. I ordered the grilled cheese with the small salad with the dressing on the side. I made my order through Yelp. Over the past few months the people at La Madeleine no longer update the order on time and your food sits on the shelf getting colder unbeknownst to you because they haven't said that the food was ready through the software. Since I already knew they've been doing this I went ahead and walked up to the pickup cashier and asked for my food - ahead of time. My food was sitting on the shelf already getting cold. I thought that was going to be the only problem today but then I opened the salad. Usually I don't even eat the salad. I usually put it in my refrigerator and it sits there until it wilts and then I throw it away. But this time I decided I needed to eat the salad since I really shouldn't have been eating the grilled cheese sandwich since it's too many calories & lots of carbs. At first I thought there were bits of peppercorn on one side of the salad, but one smashed between my fingers when I investigated it. They are mouse poops on the cheese in the salad. Absolutely disgusting! I am now wondering if the little round black balls and turd-shaped pellets on other food have been mouse poops or bug droppings all along! To try to alleviate my increased panic, I googled their images for their salads to see if they normally come with peppercorn. Nope. This place needs to be shut down!!

Jam that is now from a pump machine. Much runnier than the small containers it used to be in.
    David N.

Another great La Madeleine experience with friendly faces and customer service. The parking lot is adequate for the restaurant, but the parking spaces are small. The service is similar to other locations which is great. I had the cranberry wild field salad with optional chicken. Tasted great. The jam now comes in a pump machine and no longer in small containers. The jam is very runny compared to before. I assume it has to be more liquid to be able to pump out more easily. Will return!

3 of the Assorted Croisssnts Box of 6- Filled at the back

Check your boxed order For the special box of 6, they dumped the worse of the croissant batch onto your box from the back. Not worth the 10c discount!

Nice and easy to find but parking can be a challenge.

I got my food to go. It's full of goodies and gift choices too. I got my food to go. They need a bit more help in this area. It gets backed up. Sampler plate is a great choice and gives you a taste of what they have to offer. The potato soup was good but not rich and creamy. The chicken salad was perfect and the fresh strawberries and romalaude sauce topped it off.

My mom and I like to go here all the time for a light lunch and quick catch up. It is a great atmosphere for chatting amongst friends. We love to get either the Salade or Cafe Sampler plates, because you get a small portion of 3 different things instead of having to choose just one. And we always get their Mango tea! It's very good. Fun place to go when it is cold outside, because they have a working fireplace in the center of the dining area. Be sure to check in when you are there! I got a free small pastry with my check in. They also have their own app that you can scan to get points, so for the Yelp Check In freebie they will need to call a manager to clear the cost of the item.

Our kids love this place so we did a little gnoshing here. I copied my wife and got a 3 way meal deal, a salad, half a quiche and soup. The salad was fresh and tasty, the spinach quiche was very good, and the onion soup was very good, they did put too much cheese and croutons on top....still very good. My son got a hot turkey or chicken sammy that was amazing, i'm copying him next time. Check in on Yelp for a free torte.

French style baguettes are perfect. The only problem is the pastries suffer from humidity of Houston and if not eaten fresh they can get soggy and lose their texture. I am referring to the mille fuille. The chocolate cake was really good and held up for a few days. I bought 4 baguettes, 4 mille fuille, 4 chocolate cakes and 2 boxes of mixed macaroons for $100. What's nudged this place up to 5 stars for me is they have really improved their coffee game, specifically their quality of cappuccino's. Previously it seemed more of latte, but now to me its a legit Capp. Their choice of pastries hasn't changed, which gives you a good assortment of choices and they have added an additional barista or server which also is a nice touch for service. The only niggling items, parking can be tough, so you'll have to either walk a block or be quick to find a place close by. Inside you will also find French pastries, coffees and teas, gelato, milkshakes, sandwiches and macaroons. I felt the most interesting items were the French pastries as they are cute and tasty as well. Also, they plate the pastries nicely when you dine in as an added bonus. I tried the Chocolate Royale and the Ruby. Chocolate Royale - a petit chocolate mouse slice with flat chocolate panels along the sides. It is delicate and tasty. If you're a chocolate lover, this is definitely up your alley. Ruby - visually this looks like a strawberry Hershey kiss, with red powder on the exterior and a top piece of foil to resemble foil on the wrapper of a hershey kiss. Inside, it's filled with a strawberry cream and has a chocolate base. I just wish there was more chocolate in this one. They have plenty of seating inside as well as along the sidewalk. Inside you have the more fancy tables, whereas outside, they're more weather resistant and not as upscale in appearance. The soft drinks to drink along with your sweets are in a cold case along the hotel side of the space and you just take them to the register as you order. One of the most surprising things when you come here are the relatively affordable prices as you might expect them to be more for being a coffee shop attached to a 5-star hotel with a helipad.

Those also lived up to its hype. SO YUMMY! Tastes so fresh including the mangoes. My kiddo who LOVES mango anything loved them so much! My husband also got 2 savory pastries (I forgot what they were called and I forgot to take a picture) and those were yummy too. Perfectly flakey crust just like the egg tarts. We wanted to get sesame balls but they were sold out. Customer service was great. The guy that took our order was very nice. It was pretty busy but he moved through the line quickly. There's some seating inside if you want to eat there. Prices are very reasonable at $2 each for the mochi and egg tarts. The savory pastries were $3. It's located in a shared lot/area. Parking can be tight and limited on a busy weekend day but they have parking right out front for the Eck bakery customers. Also note that if you pay with card it's a 2.5% charge so cash is better if you have it. We didn't but we know now for future. We had a great experience here and will definitely be back.
