First of all this has all the culture vibes. It is a middle eastern Yemeni style coffee shop. It has cute decor and the perfect size for a coffee shop. You can order at the front or use their touch pad to order. They have a variety of choices and pastries. I got the iced pistachio matcha and Wow it tasted like a latte but more so of the pistachio flavor with the after taste. It's sweet and nutty. I throughly enjoyed this Matcha. I saw some people ordered pastries and the more traditional type coffees. They were presented very aesthetically with a cute tray and the whole traditional pot. The only thing I was disappointed in is that the pastries may change daily because I did not see the knafeh dome shaped dessert listed but I've seen photos in other reviews. I would most definitely come here again to try some other things!
My favorite thing about this coffee shop is that it stays open LATE. Sunday - Thursday 7am-12 am, while on Fridays and Saturdays, they're open from 7am -1am. The interior is aesthetically pleasing with its stylish fixtures and furniture. The open space is spacious and has plenty of seating. I stopped by yesterday and despite having only one staff member present, service was excellent. They were very polite, efficient, and helpful. I felt bad for that employee who had to handled everything alone and noticed that some customers were getting impatient with the wait due to the lack of staff. Hopefully the owners will add another person to the schedule and alleviate some pressure off that one employee. I ordered the Mazajj coffee with a splash of honey and it was very good. The coffee had a delightful aroma and the honey added a perfect touch of sweetness. I also ordered the Dubai chocolate bar. Although it's smaller than the ones I've had in other stores, it was just right for me. It's a good size if you're looking for a few bites to satisfy your craving without overeating. The price is also reasonable for the size. I was told that a local family makes the Dubai bars for them and they are made with dark chocolate.
I stopped by a quick coffee to go and ended up staying inside because the service was so friendly, the aroma of the coffee was tantalizing, and the pastries wooed me like Tom from Tom & Jerry to the window sill. There is plenty of parking outside. The coffee shop itself is very bare bones I would say in terms of seating with plenty of outlets and there were several people working inside. They have a lot of options listed besides the pastries for food but I just had a hot mazajj latte whereas my partner got an Americano. I really liked my coffee and did not find the flavors overpowering. In fact, the balance of the spices made it a very enjoyable drink. I would definitely go out of my way to come back to try the rest of the drinks that they have to offer.
I tried Mazajj Organic Coffee for the first time last Sunday and loved it so much that I went back again on Tuesday with my sister. On my first visit, one of the employees recommended the pistachio matcha, and it was delicious. The matcha was beautifully green and earthy, and you could taste the pistachio without it being overpowering. We also had some hot chai, which was really good, along with their dates, which were obviously delicious. When I went back, I ordered the pistachio matcha again, this time with oat milk, and I liked it even more -- the oat milk added such a nice creaminess. I also tried my sister's strawberry matcha, which was amazing. The strawberry jam tasted really fresh. We also tried one of their orange cakes, and it was really good as well. The coffee shop has plenty of seating both inside and outside, and the service is great. The girl at the front was super nice and even offered to remake our drinks if we didn't like the matcha. Overall, I'd definitely recommend trying this place. I know I'll absolutely be back!
Mazajj is a go-to location for my roommate when she needs to study for school until midnight, so the roomies decided to come here one night to lock in. :D The vibes and interior of Mazajj are incredibly different from any other coffee shop I've visited in Houston, due to its Yemeni/Arabic-inspired aesthetic, which is also reflected in the drink options! Parking and seating are plentiful, although it can be easy to miss when driving; service is also quick and friendly. I'd say this is a pretty decent place to study at, there were several other students present. Since it was nighttime and I didn't want to stay up from coffee, I ordered the Pistachio Matcha latte with soy milk. There was a very pronounced, nutty pistachio flavor, which I felt overpowered the matcha flavor; it was very creamy and not overly sweet. I'm glad I gave this drink a try, but it's not something I would order again, not that the quality was bad (the quality is FAR from bad), but more so a personal preference. Due to the Yemeni/Middle-Eastern influences, I'd like to return to explore their other iced latte flavors and pastries as well.
Are these reviews bought? Friendly staff, but wow. See pictures. How is what I was served an avocado toast compared to what was advertised: Cheap white bread and overcooked egg that looks premade and heated. The crushed red pepper is also old. And my first impression of the pistachio latte? It tastes like steak. I tried the Biscoff iced latte which was recommended as the favorite, and it also tastes like old grease and has a gluey mouthfeel. It must be the syrup that's old or the milk base they use. I can't help but feel defrauded by the advertising. Completely catfished. And the drinks themselves are so... bad, and that's being kind. So two stars is being generous. The service is super slow, one of the women has the phone in her hand most of the time. Some comfy seats but it's frigid inside even with a poncho (I think they keep it in the 60s - why in November?), super loud inside even with just a handful of people because of the sounds ringing off the concrete walls, and there's no music to tamp it down. Seriously disappointed.

You can get the hot pot of coffee service or a standard latte with plenty of flavors and sugars, both seems valid here. The interior has some nice design walls and some fun plateware, but the space still has an unfinished feel. Mainly that it feels like the design is being added to as the owners finds things they like. It's not bad for that, just that my mind compares to Qamaria where everything feels clean and cohesive for style. I got the hot coffee that was delightful once it finally cooled down, truly could not even sip on it for the first 10min. I'm not sure why organic is in the name l, because the menu didn't note anything that would make the coffe or the milk organic. Seems like I'd be proud to mention the supposed better ingredients or lack of artificial food dyes or gmo's. It didn't effect the taste, but they brought the organic thing up so it makes sense to ask.
Had a great time at mazajj this morning! The staff was friendly and helpful. I ordered the iced mazajj latte with light sugar and it was fantastic! I also got a zaatr bread and the beef sausage bun. Both were great! I'll happily return here soon!
With so many coffee spots around Houston, have to explore and find the unique one's beyond the standard chain. Enter Mazajj. Ambiance: 4/5 Parking is on a shared shopping strip center with other restaurants and businesses. But had no problem parking in front. They have a small seating area in front and once inside, there's a mix of booth style and regular tables. There's a nice light up wall nook where you can sit. It's in the center of the place, so I think it's more for quick waiting to sit and not for prolonged seating as there is not a table there. I would've preferred moody lighting and more intimate setting. Place was nice and clean and modern. Service: 5/5 The cashier was friendly and helpful on explaining their offerings. Once order was placed, she was the only one making them at the time and she was quick. Food: 5/5 Red Velvet Latte? Yes, Red Velvet Latte. 5/5 A bit rich, bit not overtly sweet. Every sip was like a warm sweater on a cool autumn day (not in Houston, maybe like Vermont, picture it, rainy, cool and then you throw on the sweater and feel so cozy.) I haven't enjoyed a latte like that in a while. Also tried the Saffron Iced Latte (red gold) - balanced well that gave the latte a nice smooth velvety finish. Again, not too sweet. Sometimes latte's are made too sweet that you really don't get to enjoy the flavors aside from the sugar. I don't live in the area, but contemplating my next excursion to come try some of their other offerings.
First time visiting Mazajj on the recommendation of a friend and it was delicious AND a unique experience. There is something so pleasant about drinking coffee or tea from a pot on your table. We ordered the Mofawar coffee, the Adeni chai, the pistachio matcha, and a Dubai chocolate bar. Everything was delicious but my favorite was the Mofawar coffee. I also want to try their pistachio latte next time I'm here. The staff were also very friendly! I went back to the register to order a milk steamer for my toddler and the barista gave it to me for free. Very kind!
Open Christmas day. We picked up an iced coffee drink and a hot cappuccino for road. They're always friendly and drinks are made well.
Was initially going to check out Annkello Kahawa but their hype is really high right now and I said heck nahhhh after I saw the line out the door. I decided to study at Mazajj Organic Coffee instead. They have plenty of space and free wifi but limited outlets available. I ordered the pistachio latte and it was very nutty and rich. They are open till midnight tho so if you want to study late night, this could be the place to go
I only got to stop by and do some work here for a little bit between an appointment and dinner plans, but my experience was good! This is a great spot to get some solo work done or meet with a group. It is not too loud, and they are located within a strip so parking is plentiful. Their menu had a wide variety of hot/cold drinks and sweet treats that you'd typically find in a Yemeni coffee shop, all reasonably priced. Mazajj Organic Coffee is a Yemeni coffee spot located about 1.5 miles from the Galleria. They didn't have a whole lot of variety here in terms of sweets as compared to other Yemeni spots back in California. Iced pistachio latte ($7.50) - This latte had a strong pistachio flavor and had almost a buttery feel to it. I really enjoyed it and it was one of the better pistachio lattes that I have tried. Dubai chocolate ($6) - This consisted of a large milk chocolate bar filled with rich pistachio cream and kataifi (crispy shredded phyllo dough). It tasted amazing and much better than most places selling these. Pricing was reasonable. Overall I enjoyed my latte and dessert. Spacious place, I ordered a chai plus a Dubai cup to go. Unfortunately with the chai, I asked for it sweet, and at the end the barista was unsure if they sweetened it. Sure enough, it wasn't so I sweetened it myself. It was okay. And the strawberry dubai chocolate cup was wayyy too expensive. Almost $15! It was a good experience overall BUT not the best, however, worth trying at least once. The coffee had a balanced flavor, not too strong yet not too mild, making it enjoyable. Their spinach and feta baked pastry was decent, though it could've been a bit fresher. The highlight for me was definitely the mango mousse dessert light, creamy, and full of flavor. The shop itself is quite cute and cozy, with a pleasant atmosphere that makes it a nice spot to relax or catch up with a friend. read more
I had their pistachio macha (which was good and decent) but there wasn't any sweetness to it so you may have to request it! Giving it 4 stars because we paid for the Dubai chocolate and the guy didn't give it to us and we thought he may have forgot about it, so we had to find our receipt to prove it to him that we did indeed pay him for it, otherwise he was charging us again for it. read more
I was introduced to Organic Mazajj Coffee by my Yelp friend Sara I. This restaurant is located on Richmond Avenue, next to my favorite Vietnamese restaurant. At Organic Mazajj Coffee, it offers freshly brewed teas and coffees. The atmosphere was so clean and bright. I really like the seating arrangements. I am new to Yemen Coffee & Adeni Tea. I rarely travel outside of my usual taste to seek out international coffees and teas. It was quite amazing, actually, get to try things I have never had before. Especially, going with a group of friends who ordered different teas and coffees. The service was great too. The employees were very attentive. I didn't feel rushed even though I took the longest time to order. I will be back to try the pastries. They all contain dairy. read more
After a successful opening in Katy (#1), another location of the popular Yemini coffee chain, Mazajj, has emerged near the Galleria at a space that was previously vacant for the better part of the last year. In the last couple of months since their opening they've done a stellar job in bringing more life to this area of Richmond Ave and have become one of my favorite spots for coffee, dessert, and WiFi working. They've done a good job with the interior, providing enough seats for solo work and drink time but also having some lounge'y areas perfect for group gathering. The counter space is vast, the self-serve water is clutch, the bathrooms are clean, and the place smells lovely. The natural lighting, light fixtures, and overall decor gets a thumbs up. For individual drinks, the Yemini style coffees are between $4.50-$5.50 but pots can be arranged from $9-16 that can serve up to 4-5 folks. They also have an extra large version that is To-Go is for $24 that can serve 8-9 people. Their mofawar is a nice medium roast coffee with hints of cardamom and some cream for texture. The qishr has cascara (husks) with ginger and cinnamon and is lovely. The hot + cold drink lineup is also impressive, as I've grown fond of their mazajj sweet latte ($6.50) and the iced pistachio latte ($7.50). Their yemini tea and adeni chai are excellent coffee alternatives and the hints of cardamom are distinct and flavorful. There is also some food options which are really Middle Eastern pastries and desserts, but go fantastically well with the coffee / tea. The honeycomb cake is solid and the Dubai chocolate is perfect for chocolate lovers. Their cheese and zaatar breads are good in a pinch, but I think the cakes (lotus + creamy biscuit), especially the pistachio tres leches are the ones to get. If the tres leches knaffeh are available, then it's a must have. The service has been lovely with every visit. It is not a place I'd recommend ordering while in a hurry, but rather a place to unwind and to take the time to enjoy the products. This latte is so good! Very refreshing and had such a good pistachio flavor to it! Highly recommend if you like slightly sweeter drinks that are rich in pistachio! Vibes of the place were cute, nice coffee shop to hang out. The service can be slower sometimes can have 1-2 baristas only and they also take orders via the phone. read more

Really great service! The barista was very welcoming and gave great suggestions. We got several things - the sausage roll was just a really good basic sausage roll. I liked the fact that they toast it for you without you having to ask. Who wants to eat cold sausage? The Dubai Chocolate was amazing and fun to eat. Loved the the pistachio crispy sweet component in the middle. The pistachio cake didn't taste much like pistachio but it was moist and delicate. The Mofawar latte was unique - you can taste the spices but the same time very smooth. The mazajj latte was also well done. Creamy and also spice forward. Great place read more

Ever since Mazajj opened this location I've been back at least 5 times. Their other location is all the way out in Katy. It's located in a strip mall with plenty of parking. The inside is spacious and has plenty of seating. They're also open until 12AM on most days which is perfect for late night studying. All of the workers I've interacted here are all wonderful and have great positive attitude. One server in particular always recognizes me and remembers my order They're known for their Yemeni coffee and tea served in pots. A lot of the customers dining here share a pot and socialize. I've been obsessed with pistachio lately and my go to is always the iced pistachio latte. Out of all the pistachio lattes I've had in Houston theirs is by far my favorite. The coffee has a nice and rich flavor but the pistachio syrup is also prominent. They also have sweet and savory pastries. One day I tried their pistachio tres leches which was moist and not too sweet. It won't be long before I become the duchess here. :P read more

This place is amazing! As a former barista of almost 6 years...this pistachio latte is one of the best iced lattes I've ever had. The space is very spacious with access to outlets and WiFi and there's lots of drinks and pastry options on the menu. The service was welcoming as well. The only downside is that it's very quiet in there, would be nice to have some music playing. read more

FINALLY a place that offers coffee late for night shift workers in Houston that isn't Agora!! I tried the mofawar with light sugar. Literally a 10/10 for this Arabic coffee spot. Plenty of parking but it took 45 minutes to wait in line, 27 minutes in line and 18 minutes to get my coffee after ordering. Ambiance is peaceful but can be kinda loud and overcrowded. Bright and airy coffee shop for yemeni tea and other middle eastern drinks and treats. Finally tried the viral Dubai chocolate. The tea was very strong compared to traditional American black teas but lovely spiced. Service was quick and friendly not charging us when I requested some warm milk for our toddler. This was my first time at a Yemeni coffee place and naturally I had questions about their menu. The staff was friendly, welcoming, patient, and most importantly, gave me a d*mn good latte. I recommend trying their signature Mazajj latte as a nice change from the usual offerings at more traditional American coffee shops. read more

Mazajj is located on Richmond, close to the Galleria in a shopping center. Parking is plentiful. I love the look and the vibes of this place. When we arrived, there were people at alot of the tables, but nobody in line. That gave me a chance to talk to one of the staff and get suggestions. All the staff was super friendly. Later in our visit, the place got busy, but they handled it like a boss and kept a smile on their faces. Mazajj's specialties is Yemeni coffee and Adeni tea. From what I was told, Yemeni coffee is a full bodied coffee with hints of fruit and chocolate. Adeni tea or chai is tea with milk and spiced with cardamom. The tea seemed to be one of the more popular items purchased. Depending on the size ordered, they serve it either by cup or in a large tea pot complete with small glass tea cups. Very nice presentation and a nice touch. They have different variations of the coffee and tea as well as your traditional hot and cold coffee offering. I had a sweet tooth so I went with the Mazajj Sweet Latte which gave me a chance to try the coffee and to satisfy my sweet tooth at the same time. I recently had the popular Dubai Chocolate at another place and loved it so I had to check it out here as well. Our items came out in a timely manner. I took a sip of that iced latte and immediately fell in love with it. It was strong, yet very smooth to drink. It was the pick me up I was looking for. The chocolate was delicious and a nice pairing with the coffee. Everyone in our group seemed to love everything they ordered. Overall, this is a legit coffee spot with some seriously delicious coffee and snacks. I will be back. read more
