Got food poisoning from the smoked salmon. Probably Scromboid as it started quickly. I'm a physician, and in the mornings I like to come by and have breakfast while reading. Something in my gut was telling me not to have the smoked salmon - screaming - but I ignored it, alas here we are. Diarrhea, stomach ache, nausea, buzzing sensation in my mouth. I just pray this passes quickly because I have things to do. Just judging at the young lady managing the food, she just didn't look too excited about the food preparation. I have noticed some slight issues in the past but overlooked it not wanting to be pessimistic, but I have learned. Case in point - avoid raw seafood, especially where you feel they may not have the best food prep practices.. I'm generally healthy so hopefully I will be fine but I have to warn others. Otherwise, it's a nice place to stop for coffee. I probably won't be back. Would have given one star, but kept it at two because aside from that it has a nice ambiance. read more

This popular German coffee chain opened its first US location here in Bellaire. It has limited seating with a lot of non-ergonomic tables, although people do take up all the seating and tables to work or study. I got the ube matcha latte for $8, and my friend got a small specialty latte for $6. They have a lot of specialty drinks on their menu. The matcha came in a giant cup, and I wish I could've chosen a smaller size. You can choose the type of milk at no additional cost, although it is definitely built in to their high prices. The matcha latte was too sweet for my liking and did not taste very matcha-y. The parking lot is small, so you may need to find neighbourhood parking. read more

Came here to study a couple times and it's pretty nice. I've tried their matcha and a couple lattes. My friends love the matcha, it's got a pretty good and strong flavor and their different syrups and really good! My friends love the banana bread matcha. I will say it's not like the most high quality matcha, but I think it is a good like coffee shop matcha. I really like the lattes here. They have fun syrups and cold foams that are so good. I think if you get your coffee there instead of the to go cups the portions are the slightest bit bigger ;) It's kind of a smaller space and there are decent number of tables but it gets crowded pretty fast and it can be hard to get tables during peak hours. I stopped by this spot desperately needing a coffee and was amazed at how absolutely adorable this shop is. The personality really shines through the decor. Getting there was a bit challenging as there is limited parking, but we made it inside. I like a neat place, and this shop is neat. The display is appealing and has both its desserts and sandwiches clearly and attractively labeled and displayed. The menu is also quite extensive, with the classics and some fun twists. The servers had a great sense of humor and were also very attentive, paying close attention to requested modifications and making sure that I knew about certain ingredients, which I really apprecitaed. I ordered a drink that I was thrilled to see, the chocolate Frappiato, a drink that combined by faves: Macchiato and Frappuccino. It was absolutely perfect and what I was looking for. Another great coffee shop find in the books. The vibe here is cozy and laidback. I visited on a Saturday afternoon and, while it was buzzing with excitement, it still didn't feel crowded. It's a great spot to catch up with friends or do some light work. Bring earbuds! As for the coffee and food, A+! I miss my old neighborhood. This coffee spot is great for getting some work done or meeting friends for morning coffee. There are some lounge chairs, couches, High bar top seating, table seating pick your choice and enjoy your drink. They offer hot and cold beverages along with snack bakery items if you choose. The customer service was excellent with a staff member promptly cleaning all of the surfaces and making sure they were sanitized. This place had been on my list of coffee shops to visit for a while now. It's located in the Bellaire area and isn't too far of a drive from my place. Parking is quite limited. It has its own lot with reserved spots but it's shared with the other businesses that also have their own reserved spots. It's obvious that a lot of people come here to study. There were very few people coming to just enjoy a cup of coffee. I spontaneously decided to order an Iced Sugar Cookie Matcha Latte which was a mistake in retrospect. The latte was too sweet and the matcha was super watered down. While it seemed like a decent place to study and get work done, I was a bit taken aback by how comfortable some people were. I found myself needing to waste 15 minutes and I finally made it in. Despite the small, odd shaped parking "lot", the cafe itself is spacious and tastefully decorated with ample tables and seats scattered throughout. I admit it took me a while to try this place out because when I first spotted it in person and that parking lot while I drove by and how it was completely full, I said nope. I guess I'm just spoiled by Costco's parking lots. I got there at around 2 pm on a Friday and many of the tables were filled with people on their laptops. The good thing about lack of parking space is it probably won't be too crowded. On the other hand, when I got there, I had to squeeze in between two SUVs and it was tight. It was also the last free parking spot. My biggest complaint is the lack of parking and the fact that the parking isn't meant for larger cars to park next to each other without encroaching on another spot. Yay for my sedan or I wouldn't have been able to finally try this place out! I ended up getting a lavender matcha latte in large. It rang up around $7 but was a decent sized cup. The cashier was nice and helpful. The drink itself was smooth and sweet. Perhaps too sweet for me. I couldn't really detect the lavender, but I really wish it weren't as sweet, but it was a little better (thought tasted slightly watered down) once the ice melted. The place sells breakfast items like muffins and lighter fare like sandwiches in addition to drinks. This is a great place to work or study. Even though there were people wherever I turned, it was relatively quiet. The bathrooms are also clean. I just wish parking was guaranteed rather than up to luck. If I happen to pass again and see an empty spot, I'll drop by again to try something new. read more

Kinda had a whirlwind of a time here. First and most importantly the coffee was great. No complaints at all. I got a pretty regular latte. I did lose my lid when I decided to add sugar to my latte. The lids are impossible to put back on and I spilled my drink all over the table trying. But the minus one star is actually related to the cleanliness. It seemed like the two people working were just busy with the constant customers coming in and were having trouble making time to clean up. This meant tables had old cups and trash and crumbs on them. There was also a large pile of dirty dishes at the edge of their bar in a bin. The other issue was the bathroom wasn't out of toilet paper. Another customer had told them about this issue and been told they'd bring some soon. So we waited like 20 minutes or so and nothing happened. The other customer decided to just take a bunch of napkins because she couldn't wait. I went and reminded the employees hoping they just forgot. They said something like okay thank you and I went back and waited at the bathroom. More time went by and I also gave up. I eventually moved outside to their nice outdoor seating and I did see them start to clean the tables up when they caught a break. They don't have a lot of room behind the bar so I'm not sure if three employees could work at the same time but something should maybe be figured out so they're not so bombarded. read more

Stopped here to do some homework on Saturday around 11am. The customer service was okay. The staff doesn't greet upon entry nor suggest anything even after stating this was my first time there. I ordered a green smoothie and turkey, egg and cheese sandwich. Both were really tasty! I don't drink coffee so I can't speak to it. It can get loud at times but I had earphones. They have tables/couches for parties of 2 and up. There is also a front and side patio if you want to enjoy outdoors. The parking was horrible. There are a few exercise places in the same strip center so I waited to a class let out to find a spot. After 10 mins of waiting I finally was able to park. I'm so surprised I did not get kicked out of this place, because I was totally in the zone for several hours while working. I found a cozy corner in the back and set up my laptop to work. To fuel my work ethic to be successful, I ordered a large iced vanilla latte. The expresso was great and the latte was not too sweet. The place stayed pretty busy from the time I arrived until I left which was a pretty sign is amount of time. The staff was super sweet and greeted me upon entering their establishment. The German coffee chain has finally made it to the US, with Bellaire as it's firs tlocation in North America. Currently there is only one other location, which is in Katy. It's not a particularly large spot and not exactly the most convenient with its semi-tight parking and easy-to-miss sign due to the cluster of businesses sandwiched in the 4900 building on Bissonnet. Yet they're semi-new as of this summer and making good strides overall for the neighborhood. My appreciation goes beyond the drinks. Let me count the ways: :: The drinks are typical, but well made. There are the usual coffee classics that include cortados, cappuccinos, lattes, and the like. They make a mean chai matcha latte and I think their cold brew also merits a thumbs up. I have yet to try the smoothies, which will be my next thirsty conquest. :: There are also a number of atypical items that were listed as summer specials the last time I was in. I am not against the frappiatos, despite their likeness to frappuccinos and think they're probably the sweetest drinks on the menu. The homemade soft drinks are very intriguing and the pommi (pomegranate juice, lime juice, ginger ale, fresh ginger) and the sunny (passion fruit nectar, lime juice, ginger ale) are my front runners for now. :: The interior is bright, clean, and very welcoming. The bathrooms are super clean, the living room feel is relaxing, and it's an ideal place to work. The chairs that line up along the counter facing the street are some of the comfiest tall chairs I've sat in. There's also some very fast free WiFi and a decent number of outlets to boot. :: I'm so pleased with the service. They're all smiles and they do a good job of ensuring most wait times are minimal. They were great about answering my questions while being awesome all at the same time. Bring any dirty cups to the counter and they'll take care of it. The only things I'm not super fond of is that very tight parking. The lot has some serious overflow during many days of the week, forcing patrons to consider the street. Grew up in Bellaire and moved about three years ago. I'm really jealous they wait till I move to open a local coffee shop haha. I was waiting for an appointment at noon today and was looking for a shop I could study at nearby. I found this location, the parking was not great but it seems like they share parking with a yoga studio? The staff is very friendly and the coffee was great. I had an iced cafe latte on oat milk no syrup the coffee was great. I like the high top seating so I could use my laptop without taking up a table for larger groups. Was looking for something different than Starbucks before work yesterday and stumbled across this place. They had a nice variety of item on the menu so I chose to try a few things. My favorite was the apple and pecan overnight oats! They came with a cold foam and it was giving fall . I had a BEC breakfast sandwich and the tiramisu cold brew. The cold brew tasted great but proceed with caution! That thing had me wired up I probably could've run a mile in 3 mins flat . I was told the coffee was strong but that thing had my heart rate up. When I got there my order was ready on time, I love that there's a to go carrier for drinks where you pickup your order as it's very convenient. I ordered the Snickerdoodle Shaken Espresso, which was pretty good a solid 8/10 definitely a bit on the stronger side. I also ordered the Turkey Bagel, it was supposed to be toasted, but it tasted pretty cold and overall very mid 6/10. I've been to the location in Katy and I had to try this one! The vibe was nice, a little smaller than the Katy location but there was tons of bar top seating, low chairs, a communal table, and some small tables to work at or catch up with friends. I do want to point out "bellaire" makes me think Chinatown, even though this is technically in Bellaire, it's not how I categorize it mentally so GPS the address accordingly! Pros: friendly service, elegant aesthetic, NO extra charge for substituting milks like oat milk (insane) Cons: Fast food coffee, very much like Peets or Starbucks level coffee. My 4 stars are generous because I'm treating this as a coffee chain, not as a high quality coffee shop. The coffee imo is not premium and the milk in my dad's cortado made it more like a cappuccino. The espresso in my oat milk latte was bitter and a little brutal for me without sweetener in it. I asked for more oat milk and it made it bearable, but the espresso here wasn't my vibe. To each their own though, the place was full and coffee/espresso is a personal thing so try it out and see how you feel. read more

I visited this location as a place for a quick brunch and study session, and I was not disappointed! The baristas were kind and attentive to questions we had about the menu and were patient with us as we were deciding what to order. The salmon bagel was seriously delicious in its entirety, and the Honey Vanilla espresso latte was one of the best coffees I've tried in Houston. Although, I will say that the matcha latte was not as strong as my preference, and tasted diluted by the milk. The interior was beautiful and offered plenty of comfortable seating to sit and do work, as well as outlets near many seating areas. The couches were comfortable and always had accompanying tables, which made it very nice yet comfortable to work on. We tried this new German coffee shop and loved it. This is their first foray into the USA. They have great frozen blended coffee drinks, frappiatos, my wife got the chocolate frap and I changed things up and kinda sorta copied her, I enjoyed a coffee frap...both of drinks were amazing. I picked up a bag of their espresso coffee beans. They have a lot of info on each bag, intensity, this bag was 4 out of 5 beans, it lists where the beans come from, this one was a blend from Mexico, Brazil, Honduras and Indonesia. The roast date is on the bag too, I like that. They had a lot of interesting pastries...next time. The only negative is the parking is tight. We'll be back. read more

I have been coming here since it opened and Jade is the sweetest and kindest person I have met. 100% consistency of service, quality of preparation of the order and her knowledge of all repeat customers habits and preferences making for the best way to start a morning! I stopped by Coffee Fellows earlier today for a few snacks and a drink. This was my first visit, and I found the service to be very welcoming and friendly. I ordered the tomato caprese sandwich on ciabatta which was tasty though I think I will not get it warm next time. Not being a coffee drinker, I sipped on a mango coco lassi drink, which was a cool treat for a very hot day. I devoured the chocolate chip cookie for dessert. The space had several small groups talking quietly as well as people who seemed to be telecommuting - exactly what you might expect in such a place. There is plenty of room to spread out. It's essentially office space for people who don't want to rent offices, which is a shame because it could have been a relaxing place to take a break. Customer service was good, professional, and fast. The coffee was solid. Cool space too. Otherwise? A hilarious experience, but not in a good way. Not one, but two people behind me took over entire tables with their tech setups, denying at least 6 other people seating so they could take phone calls, have meetings, and "perform busy." On the other side of me were more people doing the same thing at a lesser scale. Some folks who came in at the same time gave up quickly, one of them saying "Let's get outta here." I joked with them, facetiously asking "What did I do?" One of them laughed and said something to the effect of "It's just all this." Can't blame them.
