    Baked potato soup
    James S.

Haven't stopped to eat at this place in a long time and it was a breathe of fresh air to once again eat something different. The baked potato soup was great. Just saddened that I didn't get more than a cup. I had the turkey & cheese on a crescent roll and my wife had the chicken la madeleine. All was good and hit the spot. People at the counter greeted you and promptly made sure you got what you asked for.

A few days ago we had an issue with a to-go order and management (Kawanna G.) was extremely responsive and timely in resolving the issue. Today we had the pleasure of meeting her and the Director of Operations (Mike) for a redo. We were very impressed and enjoyed a delightful dine-in lunch. We will be back!

I cleaned for over a half an hour

This place is horribly wrong the management has no idea of what they're doing food comes out late the tables are cleaned there's absolutely no service even the onion soup is not very good needless to say I will not be back they are not what they used to be and they are anything like a French bistro bakery

    Chris B.

Don't get the "French toast". It's more like bread sprinkled with cinnamon. The menu says it's dipped in egg custard. The manager rudely insists that it is. I see no egg custard. It was unpleasant enough for me to make my first Yelp review.

Top 2016 personal fruit tart. Bottom 2020 personal fruit tart
    Aaron L.

After four years of enjoying their fruit tarts and pastries we decided to order three personal tarts. The Personal Fruit tarts shrunk. Not enough custard and tart pastry was hard as a rock, couldn't eat it without the whole thing falling apart. Will not be returning. 3.99 for this is a tiny ass tart is a joke. See picture for comparison. 2016 to now... seriously!?

Wilted lettuce from the salad and pathetic potato soup. I'm regretting not going to Canes.

Coming from a military (and Law Enforcement) family, and born and raised in San Diego California…read more(unfortunately, but I moved from that state years ago!), I'm no foreigner to Philipino food. Strolled in around 7:00 p.m. I was the only person here except for another gentlemen who actually just walked through the door. Neat little place. Pretty clean from what I can see and kind of off decorum, but in a good way! I walked in and was immediately greeted with my server. Super nice, super sweet and super polite southern gal, like they usually are which is why I stay in the south. That Southern hospitality, ya dig? Anyways she had me pick my table, and then immediately brought me a menu and took my drink order. I gazed over the menu, and by the time she brought my beverage I was ready to order. I WAS going to go for the chicken adobo, but I didn't want rice because it will keep me up tonight because I don't eat a lot of complex carbohydrates. I hope the pancit noodles won't either. I ordered the all meat Pancit. $22. Came with a little bit of beef, chicken, and shrimp. Good size shrimp too! Came out PIPING hot, and flavorful. I made eye contact which whom I'm pretty sure is owner of this place. I smiled, and she said sternly, "Oh hi!" Hahaha! Kind of reminded me of a nice 'soup Nazi' from Seinfeld. I know Sriracha is Vietnamese, but I asked for soy sauce and sriracha, but they don't have any sort of oriental hot sauce and I wasn't about to put red dot on it. So soy sauce it was. I kind of threw my server for a loop, when I asked for chopsticks hahaha!!! It wasn't a super huge portion, but it was perfect for me. I could see how nitpickers would complain, but, no complaints here! Thank you for a great meal, and the next time I park here, I'll definitely be coming back in! ***DISCLAIMER*** This pure, uncut, honest review is federally protected under Federal Law by way of Bill #EO14149. With the recent rain, the usual…read morepotent French Quarter street smells were washed away, leaving the air beautifully fresh and the temperatures perfectly cool. Though pop-up showers were still lingering, my husband and I decided to take a gamble on courtyard dining--and I am so glad we did! Sheltered under the green umbrellas surrounded by historic brick walls, lush greenery, and rain-kissed citrus trees, the atmosphere was incredibly romantic and peaceful. The courtyard's intimate layout even brought a bit of extra magic to our evening. We sat near another wonderful couple (and their adorable daughter) and became fast friends, sharing laughs and conversation throughout the night. What truly anchored the experience, though, was the incredible service. The staff was remarkably personable, helpful, and welcoming. The dinner itself was excellent from start to finish, showcasing immense culinary skill across every dish. We started with the delicious brussels sprouts and a uniquely seasoned spring/summer gumbo that was unlike any version we've had before (oh, what I would give for the recipe). As for the entrées, the shrimp and grits were phenomenal, and the blackened catfish sandwich with a fresh salad was executed flawlessly...and the bread pudding was fantastic, too! It is rare to find an experience where top-tier hospitality, a breathtaking environment, and great food come together so (seemingly) effortlessly. Café Amélie is an absolute must-visit! We will be back.

The host was extremely welcoming and friendly. Our server and helpers were over quickly to drop off waters and greet us. I ended up ordered the salmon. With it being so early and only one or 2 other tables besides my friend and me, the food did take longer to come out than I expected it to. Both of us did thoroughly enjoy what we got. The salmon was crispy on the outside with a nice sauce over it. We thought we'd have time to get dessert so we ordered a couple but that too took a very long time. We finally waved down our server to cancel and get the check since we had to be somewhere and he apologized and said their WiFi was going in and out so it could be that it was registering on the kitchen side. That may have explained why our entrees took too long. If it wasn't for the service and the food being great - I would not be thrilled about timing. We got there around 5:30p and had to leave by 7:15p so an almost 2 hours experience that probably could have been 1 hour.

The vibe, ambiance, friendly & stellar service, and top notch food are muy excelente!!! First off, you must order the CAFE CON LECHE (coffee w/ milk)! The strong Cuban espresso will definitely caffeinate your world and you might even ask for a second cup to go! I might be a little biased, but it is the BEST cafe con leche that I've ever had on the Northshore. The cafe con tres leches is another good choice as well. You can enjoy and savor every sip of their coffees any time of year! Next, you must try the Havana Sampler (tostones- fried plantains, maduros- fried, caramelized sweet plantains, croquetas, fried yuca) with fried pork chunks. Yes, I know - everything FRIED makes the world go round! We have only one life to live so you might as well enjoy all the yummy foods from this diverse world of ours! Remember to dip everything in the homemade mojo sauce (it has a strong garlic flavor)! The Cuban sandwich is one of my favorite sandwiches and is a great lunch option. When I want to splurge, I have to get the special oxtail soup. The oxtail is fall-off-the-bone tender and full of flavor. The chef is very creative and offers special dishes throughout the month. Anytime is a good time for cocktails here! I have enjoyed many of their specialty mojitos - the mango and watermelon were both so refreshing to enjoy on a sunny day. They even have a mojito flight if you can't decide on one flavor. I also enjoyed the caipirinha (Brazilian national cocktail), which surely packs a punch (but in a good way!). Que Rico is a spacious, beautifully decorated restaurant and is the perfect place for a small or even larger group! On certain nights, they even have salsa dancing, which provides for a fun and more lively evening! The Vintage - New Orleans, LA…read more The Vintage on Magazine Street was our very first food stop in New Orleans, and it turned out to be a great way for my wife and me to start our trip. From the moment we walked in, I really liked the atmosphere. The place has a cool, relaxed New Orleans vibe with a little bit of an upscale café feel without being overly fancy. It's the kind of spot where you can come in, sit down, enjoy some good food and drinks, and just take your time. Of course, we couldn't come to New Orleans and not start things off with beignets! We decided to go with the Fancy Beignet Flight, which gave us a chance to try several different flavors. We got the raspberry, s'mores, and Chantilly. They came out looking almost too good to eat, covered in powdered sugar with all the different fillings and toppings. Almost... because we definitely ate them! They were warm, sweet, messy in the best possible way, and a fun introduction to our New Orleans food adventure. For my meal, I ordered the Italian Panini with the truffle Parmesan fries. The sandwich was packed with meat, cheese, and flavor. Looking at that cross-section, they definitely weren't being stingy with the fillings! The bread was toasted nicely, and everything worked well together. The truffle fries were another highlight. They had plenty of seasoning and Parmesan and paired perfectly with the sandwich. I also grabbed a small iced mocha, which went really well with the food and especially the beignets. One thing I really enjoyed about The Vintage was the atmosphere. The interior has a lot of character, from the marble tables and vintage-style flooring to the bar and pastry display. It feels like a place that belongs on Magazine Street. It was comfortable enough that we didn't feel rushed and could just enjoy being in New Orleans together. The service was good during our visit, and everything came together for a really enjoyable first meal in the city. Our bill came to around $48 after tax and tip for the two of us, and considering we had a sandwich, upgraded fries, drinks, and the beignet flight, I thought it was a good experience for the money. Most importantly, this place gave my wife and me a great start to our New Orleans trip. When your first stop includes a loaded Italian panini, truffle Parmesan fries, iced coffee, and a whole flight of beignets, you know the trip is starting off right! Definitely a place I would visit again. Great food, great atmosphere, and a great first taste of New Orleans. 5 stars from us!

Still a New Orleans Gem - Visitor since 2018!…read more I'm updating my review as of April 2026 because it's important for visitors to know that The Vintage has absolutely "still got it." My last review was in 2020, and I'm happy to report that the quality and atmosphere remain top notch. Whether you are looking for a morning pick up or an evening wind-down, this spot covers all the bases. Their beignets and coffee are a classic must have, and I can personally vouch for their Americano. It is consistently well made and delicious. They also have a great selection of beer and cocktails if you're looking for something a bit stronger. What really sets this place apart, though, is the hospitality. We have always had great interactions with the staff, but a special shout out goes to Jimmy, whom we met this past week. He was incredibly kind and hospitable, truly making us feel right at home. Jimmy if you are reading this, THANK YOU!! If you want a spot that feels authentic, welcoming, and consistently excellent, put The Vintage at the top of your list!
