    tea setting

On a recent trip home to visit my family we decided to try out a new (to us) tea house along the main street. My niece is really into high tea and we decided this was the next perfect place to try! For a saturday they were PACKED - thankfully we had a reservation. You certainly get your monies worth for this high tea with lots of tea sandwiches and sweets. They even gave my 5 year old niece some lemonade instead. Overall we would come back! Cute little place. Parking can be tricky.

I had high expectations for the macaroons especially since it is in the store name. Unfortunately, the batch of macaroons I bought had the consistency of a brownie/cake. There was no uniformity with the sizes of the macaroons and I had a few that were so tiny. Several of my macaroon shells were cracked when I purchased them in store. Overall, these were tasty but didn't have the consistency of true macaroons that I've had from California and in Europe.

Just a wonderful afternoon tea experience. And when I say that, I mean it because having high tea is one of my favorite things and I've done it around the Us, Europe, and in the UK! I am thrilled to have a place locally that not only knows how to get the aesthetic right, but whose scones, tea sandwiches, pastries, and tea are all delicious. I can't wait to come back again and bring friends! Make sure to get a reservation because they are busy. I was able to get parking in the small lot in front because I pulled into the drive between buildings from the main street. Otherwise you have to park on the street (which doesn't look like it's that difficult.)

Love this place! It's super cute and the tea and food is awesome! I'm glad I made a reservation because it was very crowded a few days before Christmas! All of the tables were full inside and so many people were coming in to buy holiday treats. They took a bit of time to take our order so they were super kind and added some baked Brie to our order for free. It was sooo delicious! We had the Marie Antoinette which is a selection of sandwiches, desserts, and unlimited tea. I stuck with my fav tea from a previous visit - kiwi strawberry. My mom had the white Christmas and I really liked that one too!

A very cute, small French bakery located in the rear of a parking lot of other local shops on Main Street of Mullica Hill. I've actually been here a year ago for my birthday to buy cupcakes and macarons and boy was I surprised. The flavor and texture exceeded my expectations! They generally have 2 cupcake flavors that always change. I got the chocolate peanut butter last year and I have been craving it ever since. I'm not a big chocolate fan, but the chocolate cake was not too bitter and the peanut butter icing was natural and not too heavy or sweet. They have a variety of macaron flavors, several always stay the same and some seasonal ones. I came when it was about to close last year so I figured I would come to dine-in for hi-tea this year. I made a reservation via phone a week before. Much to my surprise, I came 2 to 3 hours after opening on a Saturday and there were some empty tables because most people already came and ate right when they opened. They have an afternoon tea menu which is to my liking because it gives a sample of everything. However, if you prefer to order one full sized meal you can do so as well. They have several bundles to select from for afternoon tea: 1. Marie Antoinette Tea $28 2. La Mademoiselle Tea $20 3. Cream Tea $12 4. Dessert Tea $18 5. Children's Tea $12 All bundles come with unlimited tea but you can only choose one flavor for the tea because they give you your own pot. The two that caught my eye were Paris Tea (most popular) and French Lavender Tea. The French Lavender is just like any lavender tea with the strong lavender taste that I feel like I can get anywhere and is always a safe choice. The Paris Tea is a black tea base which I was afraid of at first because I usually prefer the less bitter green tea. However, the Paris Tea has hints of vanilla and caramel in it that makes it non bitter even without sugar! It honestly reminds me of Trix cereal and I can't wait to go back to get more. I can always picture the smell of Paris Tea. The two bundles that I was deciding on were the Marie Antoinette and the La Mademoiselle. The Marie Antoinette starts with a three story holder of 5 bite sized savory breakfast sandwiches followed by another three story holder of 5 desserts. The La Mademoiselle only has the 5 breakfast sandwiches which is perfect for those who do not like sweets. Tip: I recommend one order of each bundle if there's two people. That way the dessert can be shared. The breakfast sandwiches were all very good and tasty, but if I had to rank them from best to worst: chicken salad with grapes and pecans on croissant, roasted turkey fig and brie on baguette, petite quiche Lorraine in puff pastry, cucumber and dill cream on whole wheat bread, and egg salad on white bread. The desserts were all very good as well and here are them ranked from favorite to least favorite: cream, macaron, cupcake, scones, lemon curd, s'mores. They have indoor and outdoor seating, but they only have one large restroom indoors. I think it's a waste because there's always a line for it and when I just got in, someone was already knocking my door nonstop. For dine-in, you have to get on the line to pay which I think is an absurd system as well especially if you're behind someone ordering a lot of things to take out and are indecisive. Overall, a very delightful experience and the waitress was very caring and attentive. Would definitely come back next year!

I've been out of the SJ loop, so I just learned this week that this macaron and tea shop is nestled along Mullica Hill's Main Street in a quaint old barn. I checked their Facebook on New Year's Eve for their macaron flavors and headed over. I purchased a 12-pack for $24 along with a strawberry cupcake (delicious, btw). The standouts among the macarons: strawberry, vanilla, blueberry cheesecake, and pink champagne. They're so fluffy and easy to eat that I dug in as soon as I sat down in the car and only four remained in the box as we exited the parking lot. I'm not even kidding when I tell you that I was tempted to go back inside and buy more right then. I did have an ounce of self control, fortunately, and stopped myself. The sweet treats at this shop made for a delightful end to a hideous year. I'd like to return sometime for a proper tea in their cute dining area.

This place is so freakin cute!!!! I was having a hankering for a French macaron when my boyfriend stumbled upon this spot on Yelp, which was located, quite, close to his house. I got so excited about dressing up and warming up my pinky for some tea sipping. The one downside to the tea room is the odd hours and days of operation. I understand that business does best on the weekends here, but there should be an option to make a reservation any day of the week. That being said, we had to wait til Thursday to secure a reservation. They only had 3p available that Saturday, so I took it. You exit your car to charming music that reminded you of a circus in France, a lovely way to set your expectations when you enter. I would describe the decor as rustic but elegant. I will say, some of the decor could use a deep cleaning but I, overall, liked what I saw. We chose the Marie Antoinette menu option which was $26/person which came with a choice of 5 tea sandwiches for each, plus assorted desserts and unlimited tea. And by unlimited...you can order as many pots as your heart and stomach desires. The tea list was LONG! We didn't really realize how much tea you can order, so we tried our best to finish our first two pots. I'm reviewing this a bit after the fact and don't remember exactly what we ordered, but we love the 4 types we tried. The food was exceptional! I still talk about the chicken salad croissant to this day. Perfectly paired with pecans and grapes. All of the sandwiches were good, though. Same goes with the desserts. I was especially obsessed with the homemade whipped cream and lemon curd for the scones. As I kept saying to my boyfriend "catch me at the cream station." HAHA! I just couldn't stop eating the whipped cream. We left with a dozen, assorted, macarons because we were curious how the rest tasted since we only got a taste of the red velvet with our table order. They were mostly average. Some cooked to perfection, while others were a little hard and just not up to par with flavor. What a spot for photo content though, am I right?! We had a great time, though. Laughed, were over-dressed, and pretended to be fancy and French for a day. I definitely want to return, again!

What are fantastic hidden gem in New Jersey! This place elevated my sisters in law's bridal shower to the next level! They provided macarons for the party and they were absolutely delicious! I will definitely be using them again, even to just grab a quick delicious bite!

An amazing experience!! Went with a large group for my grandmothers birthday. Our waitress was very tentative and helped us out. The food was amazing everything was so fresh!!! I am not a tea drinker but my family was they all said it was the best. I had pink lemonade in stead which was also a yummy alternative
