This is my favorite little French cafe in the heart of Doylestown, Bucks County, Pa. Quaint, inviting and an olfactory delight, Le Macaron is a must visit on your next trip to Doylestown. The staff is friendly, the prices are within expectations and the chocolates and pastries are amazing. Personally, I cannot pass up the Almond croissants. Their texture, with just a hint of buttery almond at the center, is unsurpassed in my experience. It's a cute little cafe. Seating is limited. In nice weather they have some limited seating and even supply a water bowl for your canine companions outside (no pets inside). read more

Wonderful Doylestown small business owner by a local couple. They have a beautiful assortment of chocolates, macarons, cakes, pastries, French bread, ice cream, and a frozen section for takeaway. They will also do custom cakes. If you're in the mood for a quick, sweet treat I would definitely recommend hitting them up while you're in town. Very easy to park or walk from a nearby parking area. They have a bathroom, but it is not handicap accessible, as you have to walk up several stairs. There is seating indoors or a new patio area if you'd like to sit and enjoy your dessert. Le Macaron is a wonderful discovery in Doylestown. It's a little off the beaten track but worth a two block stroll from the heart of town. Great coffee, pastries, macarons, truffles and always the best customer service! The shop is bright and immaculate. I run to the shop for a cold brew, when I'm at Eden Salon with my Mom. A coffee along with a madeleine or macaron mid afternoon hits the spot! The owner Louise is a gem and her staff is always cheerful and helpful. Cute little French pastry shop!! Parking is metered along the side streets so if you're ok with parking and walking it's definitely worth checking out! Service was great, I was able to ask what staff recommended and they were thoughtful and kind. I got 6 chocolates and 6 macarons. The chocolates were tasty, possibly overpriced at around $12 a box of 6, but I enjoyed being able to select which chocolates I wanted. Macarons were about $16 for a box of 6 and I could select which ones I wanted, I think they were way better than the chocolates and wish I had gotten more!!! I would recommend this place to others for themselves or if they need to buy gifts! The staff packages up the food in boxes with tissue paper and it's very delicate and cute! read more

I rarely have good pastries, so I'm always looking! This spot had an opera cake that tempted me but I got a box of macarons and bonbons! It was so cute and all very delicious. I was surprised but everyone who enters is delighted by the bright and colorful desserts that truly surprise the customers. The cake was so hard I couldn't put my fork through it. It was horrible. When I threw it into the trash it sounded like a rock hit the bottom of the trash can. The apple pie wasn't good either. All I had here were the croissants- they were delicious! My favorite was the ham and cheese, but the plain and chocolate ones were also great choices too. My only complaint is they were small. I have been meaning to try out le macaron since they opened and finally got around to trying them out. I used to buy macarons all the time when I lived in Philly and occasionally I'd be lucky enough to find some local ones and Im happy that there is now a local spot to me. I'll start by saying the staff is awesome and the establishment looked clean and their cases were filled with yummy treats. Be sure to also check out their refrigerator case with macaron cakes and ice cream sandwiches. The macarons were beautiful but just okay in taste. They were pretty sloppily made and uneven, not that it matters much to me. The mango was more jelly filled and the grand mariner with chocolate was my favorite that I tried. The lavender white chocolate was the one I was most excited for but it honestly tasted like fruit loops. I tried some of the lemon meringue tart which was good, the crust a little hard but had nice flavor. I'll be back I'm sure to try some other goodies in the future but it won't be a routine stop for me. If you're looking for macarons or other French pastries in doylestown- this will do but there are definitely better outside of the suburbs. read more

Ordered a small box of chocolates, don't specifically remember all the flavors- the turtle was pecan, the light blue was some kind of milk chocolate, I think the yellow was a caramel of some kind, the white was hazelnut? They were all delicious and would buy them all again. Staff was friendly shop was cute. If I am ever in the area again would definitely stop in. read more

It's rare to find the combination of great owners and a fantastic product but that's what Le Macaron offers. My favorites are the salted caramel and the coffee macarons, but I've thoroughly enjoyed EVERY thing I've ever purchased from them. The box of six is probably the best deal in the house, try it, your taste buds will thank you!!! The owners are just those great down to earth people that you can totally share a beer or glass of wine with. They are engaging, welcoming, and just fun people to talk to. They offer those little touches that remind you to support small business. I know that every purchase is going to their kids university fund, or to put groceries in the fridge. It honestly makes me want to shop there even more. TLDR: Phenomenal pastries, better people. Can't wait to come back!!! read more

Grabbed an assortment of macarons for after dinner -- unfortunately they were nowhere as good as the gelato. Several were underbaked. Of the flavors we got, the basil white chocolate was the one that stood out. Who knew a "pesto" macaron would be so tasty? The mango, cassis, and salted caramel were almost devoid of flavor. I'll definitely stop in again for gelato and give some of the pasties a try, but I'll likely pass on the macarons. read more

Drove 45 minutes to taste the macarons. My partner and I make a point of tasting them everywhere we travel and these macarons can rival those in Paris. They are DELICIOUS. Nice service, cute shop, but the macaroons are underdone in the center and definitely needed more baking time. The flavor of the black currant one was great, the flavor of the mango one was more savory than sweet for some reason. Pricing is unrealistic to the point where you wonder how high they were when marking up their prices. As someone who makes macarons for myself, I know how much they cost in the real world, and here you are paying for their space rental, employee salaries, and the owners' salaries. I suppose that's the cost of doing business in Doylestown. read more
