    Soooooo many great options

Very rainbow friendly part of street. Was a great entrance to the front where we were met with a wall of macarons. Great tasting desserts/breakfast! If we are ever in Philly, we would def be back! Jake, kev, d, mark

Spectacular. Give me 14 of them right now. The way I ran to write up this review is unreal. I don't remember ever tasting a macaron this good! I had my co-worker pick these up for me, so unfortunately I can't speak to the service or ambiance of this establishment. I tried the lavender lemon and rose lychee. Both macarons exhibited the strongest, most pungent floral flavors, which I love. You can taste every single ingredient in these. They were soft and fresh. I'll definitely be returning to try more flavors!

Not the kind of place you'd go to study but nice place to sit and chat with friends. I got the mushroom cheesesteak croissant, the bacon and Brie, and the chocolate croissant. Overall, the lamination on the pastries were decent however the flavors were underwhelming. I was excited for the savory croissants but the mushroom cheesesteak was subpar. The filling condensed the lamination and there was a big air pocket inside. The Brie and bacon was denser but mostly tasted Brie, the bacon wasn't evident. Didn't try the macarons but overall not sure if I'd go back.

The staff was friendly and patient as me and others decided which macarons we wanted. There were so many options! I ended up with: earl gray, cassis & fig, yuzu, lemon lavender The earl gray had a strong satisfying flavor. Crumbly texture shell. The yuzu filling made it a bit chewy when biting into the macaron. Lighter flavor for this one. My favorite was the pistachio madeleine. It was off and airy. Nice flavor. Made me want to go back for more. My least favorite was the Matcha cruffin. Although there was a lot of matcha flavor in the filling, it felt and tasted tooooo buttery . I felt sick eating it. I even scraped out some of the filling so that I could finish it. Not because it was too much filling but because it just had that feeling and taste as if you were eating a stick of butter.

    rose lychee & pistachio macarons

Macarons are one of my favorite desserts so I take them pretty seriously & ICI seems to as well! I got the rose lychee & pistachio macarons. The rose lychee was perfect - the flavors were real and natural and perfectly floral. The pistachio surprised me with the center being as creamy as it was! They were both incredible and I can't wait to come back and try more flavors.

    Ube Mochi Croissant

Had the best Ube mochi croissant today. The pastry was fresh, crispy, flaky and filled with delicious Ube mochi. I hope they never discontinue it and wish they made other flavors like Matcha or even Pandan!

    Dirty chai

The pastries? Divine. The macaroons? Perfect. The coffee? Wonderful. The best dirty chai I've had! So glad this spot reopened! Their later in the day hours are also nice for those of us who need an afternoon pick me up. Seating is limited, but there's a nice park around the corner that is nice to hang out in after picking up your coffee and pastries.

    Best croissant ever!

This place is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! First timers and everything, including the coffee and tea, was amazing! The service was incredible! ICI Macarons is a must try!

    Mushroom Cheesesteak Croissant
    Jordan A.

ICI deserves 5 because, not only does it do the classics well, it also has fun and funky flavors and products that are delicious. The mushroom cheesesteak croissant is life changing. The lavender lemonade is perfectly sweet and tart. The prices for both these items felt incredible fair too. If I had anything negative to say, it would be that I wish there was more seating. As this is Philly though, I'm not bothered that there isn't a whole lot. The cafe is cute and clean. I can picture myself going anytime I'm in the area. It was great!!

    chocolate Kouign-amman
    Keith M.

Wow! Is it wrong for me to say that this was my best meal in Philadelphia? Came here with my daughter on Sunday morning and we had Kouign-amman's and coffee. I had chocolate, she had lemon. They were amazing. I mean, really amazing. We bought a box of macaroons for a party. I'm not really a macaroon fan but I had a few and they're delicious. Great little place with a friendly staff. This is definitely a place to try if you're in the Old City area.

I'm glad I visited as the chocolate is excellent. This tiny store is filled with many different products, mostly chocolates. They have chocolate bonbons in so many awesome flavors including strawberry lemon, honey Taheen, mango passionfruit, espresso, dark chocolate orange, pecan praline, blueberry, carrot cake, milk chocolate, dark chocolate, dark chocolate coconut, dark chocolate raspberry, dark chocolate hazelnut, very berry, sea salt, caramel caramel, apple and yuzu lemon. Those were just today's flavors. There are others in rotation. They also have hot chocolate mixes including a spicy one, granola, jarred candies, candles, bath salts, and packaged chocolate bar pieces. Additionally, they have house-made pastries like chocolate chip cookies, scones, and macaroons. The store then brings in the outside with many plants and cacti and reading material. See my pictures! The very helpful single staffer was able to answer my questions and very friendly. Although I had only purchased one set of seconds, I opted to buy two more on the spot. The bonbons are usually $3 each and come in 3, 5, 10, 15, or 24 packs. When I got back I was highly anticipating the pieces. In one pack I got raspberry and lemon. I have yet to open the other two. What I tried was delicious and had to stop myself from eating them all. Very happy with Aurora Grace Chocolates.

I understand…read morethis glorious little bakery is celebrating 25 years serving Philadelphians and visitors and oh my goodness these are the absolute best pastries i've ever had! And particularly I'd never had a Canele before (that's the taller, dark brown one in my photo in case you haven't heard of them) and it is a perfect little treat. There's usually a line but they move very quickly as you order from the window, right in the heart of historic Old City. Treat yourself!

I walked right up and ordered - you can look through the window at the pastries - and order which ones you would like. I immediately noticed these 'large' cakes (large compared to the pastries) and asked what they were - Pound Cakes - Lemon and Lavender. I opted for the Lavender. This was a 'simple' cake - a little icing on the top, and a very subtle lavender taste. It was moist and rich, but not too dense - perfect texture. It was a very enjoyable piece of cake. I may try the Lemon Pound cake next time. Next, was the Plum Almond Tarte - it looked amazing. The exterior was browned and had a delicious caramelized crunch to it. I could immediately taste the plum topping as I crunched on a few almonds. However, once I got to the interior of the tart, it was soggy - too moist. I don't think it's supposed to be that way - but it made the tart difficult to eat. It was very tasty, but the sogginess really detracted from the texture. There's an attached picture of the middle of the tart. I thought I would get a cookie and they had 4 choices - I chose the Molasses. It has been a LONG time since I had a molasses cookie. This one had a soft homemade texture - it was sprinkled with sugar. The deep taste of molasses came through immediately and left a delightful little 'bite' like fresh ginger or cloves might do. It was a great cookie. I saw some macaroons in the front of the window - plain and chocolate chip - I got the plain. I'm used to the 'store bought' macaroons-with finally chopped coconut and a soft creamy texture. This was NOT the Manishewitz coconut macaroon I grew up with....good thing! This was a 'real' macaroon - the coconut was shredded a longer length and had true texture. The cookie has a crispy exterior and a chewy coconut interior. I also ordered a mini tarte - the Pear Pistachio Tarte. It was covered in a pistachio crumble and a pear topping, with a pistachio custard filling, which had a reasonable consistency, unlike the Plum Almond. I'm a big pistachio lover and this little tart was yummy - the combination of nutty and fruity came out really well. Last, but not least, is the Apricot Financier. This is a very different pastry - moist - with a very subtle almond taste. There's a very small slice of apricot (I wish there would have been more) which added a nice fresh fruity chew to the light cake. While the cake tasted fine, it needed 'something' more. I'll be returning to Tarte - most likely for the pound cakes and a few cookies!
