Super good experience and amazing delicious food. The waiting service was extremely chill and they let you mind your business. Brulella was the best. Not an extravagant selection but definitely elegant cuts of meat and options. Don't hesitate. Just go--especially if you're a fan of meat !!

Enticed by the great reviews, I had high hopes, but the end result was just okay. La Malandrina is not a fancy restaurant. If you're looking for a U.S. equivalent, consider the decor and furnishings of a low-end Mexican restaurant. I tried navigating the whole situation in Spanish, so some of my issues are the fault of my terrible language skills, but here goes... I got the parrillada de carne 1 persona. As I stared intently at my Google Translate app, it said "parrillada" meant "barbecue." Allow me to translate for real. "Parrillada" means "sampler platter." So while I thought I was getting one finely prepared piece of meat, I got a several. Normally, not a bad thing. However, because my menu was gone, I lost all ability to know what meat was what. After some research, as best as I can figure, the menu goes like this... * Bife (450 grs.) = tenderloin * Entrecot = filet? * Vacio = flank steak * Entraña = skirt steak * Asado de Tira = short ribs * Pechuga de Pollo = chicken breast * Chorizo Criollo = some kind of sausage * Morcilla = blood sausage * Hamburguesa = hamburger, I assume And if you want a platter of a bunch of that stuff, you get the parrillada. Of all the meats, I think I enjoyed the chicken breast the most, which is weird, considering the focus of this place. The fries were good. The sausage wasn't really cooked all the way through and I skipped the blood sausage because, well, ew. When you go, you'll need to know how to say how you want your steak cooked. I belieeeeeve "al punto" is medium rare, although my steak seemed rarer than that. All in all, I might have had a better time if I would have known what I was ordering. There was just one waiter who was running around like crazy, trying to help everyone. He was really nice. Maybe I'll go back, now that I have some idea what the hell I'd be ordering. I feel like La Malandrina deserves another shot. I love meat, but I got blindsided by some cuts I probably wouldn't order if I'd known better.

I came here after a visit to the nearby beach ravenous for a good steak and good wine. Luckily I had researched this place beforehand and arrived and was in store for one of my best meals in Barcelona. I got an absolutely massive and perfectly cooked steak with fries and a few glasses of the delicious House red wine for well less than 20 euros. All steps from the beach! If it were up to me I would have come back one or two more times during my visit to Barcelona but my travel companion doesn't enjoy steak as much as me...

I've been meaning to review this place forever, but I could never remember the name by the time I got back to my computer. We all call it, affectionately, Cheapo-Steako. This place does one thing and does it well, big ole slabs of steak. Well, I have to assume. I don't eat meat, but I know that getting a big ole slab of steak with a huge side of creamed potatoes and a beer or wine for under 8€ is a great deal. I usually order a salad and a plate of creamed potatoes. The salad is all of okay, mostly iceberg lettuce and corn, but the potatoes are amazing and the condiments for the bread really make it all worth while. Over about the dozen times I've been there my companions have rated the steak from pretty good value to one of the best steaks in Barcelona. So I guess the quality of the meat varies. The staff at La Malandrina are quite warm and charming. They've even taken scraps from bused plates to save for my little dog. You will be expected to eat and go--not very Spanish--but they are nice about it and it can be understandable as there is usually a line waiting to get inside.

    Flank steak with fries

If you are looking for great food for little money - this is the place to go. We came here with 4 adults and a child on a Friday evening and were lucky to snatch the last table. The restaurant is really small with just a few tables, it could use an interior update and they have no A/C, but these are the only cons since the food and the service are great. We ordered a few bottles of water, 3 x flank steak with fries, a salad with chicken breast and an extra side of fries. The drinks came out quickly, followed by complimentary bread and 2 house-made salsa-like spreads that tasted awesome! Our actual food order came out in no time as well and the steaks were huge and cooked medium-rare just like we ordered them. The meat was really good - actually way better than expected for the price! - and the fries were decent as well. It was a really good meal with a lot of food for less than 50€ including tip. Definitely a worth a visit if you are in the area.

Wonderful! Tasty! So fresh and delicious. Great Argentine Steak House. Great prices and location. We had a steak and a chicken. The chicken was amazingly moist and the streak was perfect. Don't miss this one! Waited less than fife minutes for a table in a Saturday night in Baceloneta.

Steak steak and more steak . If you like meat n potatoes this place is for you. I got a giant steak with creamy potatoes and it was amazing. They give you a basket of bread with two different condiments one has raw bell peppers and onions in some sort of oil and vinegar mixture and the other is red pepper in oil both are great on the steak potatoes and bread! For about 10€ ..it's a great deal !

Different steaks, chicken and scalp potatoes with Uruguay sausage

Took a trip to Barcelona and our friends who had been there before told us to stop here. OMG this place was incredible. The meats were out of this world going from the sirloin steak to the Uruguay sausage, the chicken and the scalp potatoes with the milky sauce. Just unbelievable. Muy bueno!!!!!!

That's a great Argentinian restaurant for the price ! The ambiance inside is authentic, with Latino music. Waiters are very nice too. For the food, this restaurant serves big portions so It's perfect after a day on the beach. I'd recommend the Patatas al horno which were amazing, and also the queso provolone. A very good place !

    Amazing.

I have wonderful dreams about this magnificent restaurant. Alex T. and I were visiting Barcelona and got into the city kind of late. Luckily, businesses in Barcelona stay open late. Yay! Since we don't speak much Catalan and were trying to navigate the alleyways and streets in the dark, it was a little hard to find. They also had some construction happening outside so the sign was slightly hidden, but man, the effort was worth it! The servers and bartenders were very nice and patient with us and we tried our best to communicate. The menu has English translations too. The sirloin was amazing. Juicy and tender and cooked to perfection. The fries were fresh and yummy, but the papas con Crema were amazing. So good. Like I said, I dream of this place. The prices are ridiculously cheap. 9EUR for a plate? Be sure I drown everything in their heavenly chimichurri and other sauces available at the table. The place is small, so be prepared to wait a little while during peak hours. So worth it.

Gorgeous Cave-Like setting right in the heart of The Gothic Quarter. For food we got: - both Peach and Red Sangria's - maybe the best in Spain. 15 Euros so not cheap - Pan Con Tomate - first time having this dish -- great, - Iberian "Pluma" Acorn Fed Pork - so tender and amazing! - Cod (Bacalao) - perfectly baked I must give a shout out to our amazing waiter LUCAS who spoke excellent english and gave some perfect recommendations. We got here at 7:30 and it was quiet -- but quickly filled up and was totally full by 8:30. It's more expensive than most restaurants but for that you get quality service, superb food, linen napkins, and soft jazz music. We wanted to come again the next night but it was totally booked! Trip Advisor rates this as #57 (as of May 2026) but I think it should be in the top 10. Book a table early guys -- this restaurant will not disappoint you!

Chalito is a chain restaurant in Spain that specializes in Argentinian milanesas, which are thin breaded meat cutlets topped with all kinds of good stuff, and I knew I had to try one. I ordered the Milanesa Mallorquina with sobrasada, Mahón cheese, honey, and a mozzarella base, and it was absolutely delicious. The mix of savory and sweet worked so well together. I also tried a slice of my friend's serrano pizza, and that was really good too. Another thing I liked was that they offer their own special aiolis to choose from. As somebody who loves extra sauce on the side, that was a huge plus for me. The food impressed me so much that I ended up going back to a different Chalito location in Madrid just to try the sausage and chili oil pizza, and it was just as bomb. Their portions are so huge I didn't have room for dessert on either of my visits, but their cheesecake looks amazing, I'll have to grab a slice on a future visit The service was excellent, and I appreciated that they had menus in both Spanish and English. The restaurant is also very spacious, which made the whole experience feel easy and relaxed. You do not really have to stress about getting a table or making reservations, which is always nice when you are traveling. Overall, Chalito is a great spot if you want a satisfying meal in Spain without all the hassle of planning ahead. I would definitely recommend it whether you are visiting or already local.
