To our surprise, Monday's are Margarita Mondays that are $3.99! We ordered the steak fajitas and the burrito bowl. It was nothing too special, it was very simple. Came with chips and salsa on the side. The steak was very dried out... barely sizzled on the plan. The vegetables seemed old, it wasn't cold or crispy. My friend and I went for dinner. We both like good Mexican food, but we typically go to a new place only by a friend's recommendation. We had never been to La Marimba, nor had anyone we knew. And...The food was incredibly delicious! It was so much better and more flavorful than "typical" Mexican food. The portions were generous (enough to take some home for lunch the next day). I hadn't been here for a while and was pleasantly surprised by the updated dining room. The menu had a large variety of lunch items to choose from as well as choices from the regular menu. So glad. My order was basic. A few appetizers: street tacos, Mexican corn and fried Jalapeños. I ordered a double order of the latter. The friendly waitress warned me that these were hot. "No worries, I like hot," I proudly replied. She warned me twice again when they came out. Guess what? FIRE HOT!! I mean eyes-running-nose-sniffling-lips- bleeding- hot. Why did I not believe a Mexican waitress, at a Mexican restaurant, that the practically national vegetable of Mexica was anything but hot?! But it was so good!!! A little disappointed tonight. It's a Monday night, they're actually busier than I expected. We ordered the house Margarita special- it was like warm lime juice- no tequila. We even asked for an additional shot. He kept saying the frozen was better..... we don't like frozen!! We ordered the fajitas for two... there wasn't enough rice for one let alone two. I don't know what took me so long to visit this place because hands down it's the best Mexican spot in Titusville. The offer a more authentic Mexican menu than most in the area. I've visited twice and both times the food was fresh and delicious. They offer a daily lunch menu along with other specials. Taco Tuesday is all you can eat tacos for $8 and it comes with rice and beans. Kudos to them for actually seasoning their food! Some of their competitors in the area lack flavor but this place has all of the flavor. Every meal comes with complimentary chips and salsa which are good. The chips appear to not be homemade but they are edible. The salsa tastes like its homemade which if it isn't it's pretty good for non homemade salsa. Their tacos are good and filling. One thing I should note is that guacamole and sour cream is an extra charge. The enchiladas are filling and the rice and refried beans are good as well. The only item that I was a little disappointed with was the house margaritas. They are kind of on the weak side. My next visit I plan to try one of their top shelf margaritas to see if there's a difference. Overall it's a solid choice for Mexican food. The staff is great and the service is great. read more

You might not think it when you drive up to La Marimba and see the outside but I was blown away by the elevated standard of taste, service, and cleanliness that this restaurant offers. The food was hot (temperature-wise) & plentiful. The salsa and chips starter was tasty and fresh. We had the Mexican street corn (very good and corn was fresh). I had the chile rellenos and it's one of the few places where it was a real ROASTED poblano. My wife had he taco/enchilada lunch special. Everything was great. We found this wonderful restaurant and were not disappointed. We walked in as 142 school kids were walking out. Perfect timing! Authentic rellenos, authentic sauces and a perfect flan! La Marimba in Titusville is definitely not chic or artsy. That lack of pretense starts in the parking lot and extends inside to a motif that screams mañana, only with less urgency. You don't come here for the decor. La Marimba is the most authentic Mexican restaurant that I've been in since visiting Brownsville, Texas. Just like the border area, sometimes there's a language barrier. Dinner started with homemade chunky salsa and basket of hot chips and queso dip. My wife had a spinach and cheese quesadilla and I had the La Bomba burrito, which is seriously big enough to feed two people. We were both stuffed but still tried to force down a fried ice cream, which was good but we were too full to really enjoy. The food is delivered hot and in epic quantities and prices that are surprisingly reasonable. La Marimba is the kind of place you like in spite of its faults. It's unpretentious, inconsistent, and comfortable, like that old recliner at your uncle's house. Even accounting for the inconsistencies, I like it better than El Leoncito. La Marimba also turns out plus-size margaritas and a decent mojito. No sugar cane stick but actual sugar, lime juice and club soda, not the mixer gun sour yuck I got at Twisted Tuna. Appetizers, dinner, and dessert came to a thrifty $40, so we'll definitely be back. read more

If all you've ever eaten before is Tex Mex, you might think this place is amazing. But, I thought it was pretty average - which might be good enough for diners in Titusville. I was staying at a hotel in the area for work and needed a hot meal after a long day. The place was pretty run down but doesn't mean the food can't be good. My view of the kitchen did not inspire confidence though. There was nothing amazing about the food - it was just average. No amazing flavors, just pedestrian ingredients slammed together quickly. They give you complimentary chips and salsa, which is very saucy with large chunks of scallions in it. I'm not sure if they make it themselves, or combine fresh veggies with a pre-made picante sauce as the base. I opted for a giant burrito, which literally came out in 2-3 minutes. They were not even trying to pretend the meat was freshly cooked. I was pretty disappointed by that - since I wasn't in a hurry, and this wasn't a fast food restaurant - I expected my food to be cooked to order. The cook was a young kid who seemed to be left to do everything on his own, so I can understand that quality was not his top priority. The service was ok - I had to wait for water refills and he didn't bother checking on me after bringing the food, until he came to bring the check. This is one of those places that CAN be good - depending on who the cook is this month, what you order, and who the server that you end up with. What I ordered was not necessarily cheap ($20 check for solo diner), so it was disappointing that the food was so average. The place does not scream out to me that the owner is passionate about the food business - more so that they are there because people will pay, so why not? read more

Read reviews. Looked at every picture. Was really expecting a higher standard. Was not that busy, was seated fairly quickly. Ordered food (fajitas) and received it in under 5 minutes. Had to ask for chips 3 sesperate times, received our queso and it went cold and hardened over before the chips came(after food). Customer service was a hit and a miss, our waitress was very sweet and personable but the older lady who seated us was very short and rude. Was mumbling under her breath how "they were driving her crazy". Cleanliness is next to godliness and I would give them a 1 star for that alone. Black marks all over bathroom door, tables and seats could have been wiped down, overall is older and defiantly needs upgrading. I gave 3 stars for the waitress we had. But I won't be back. Food was ok, not worth the $ to me. Looked SO much better than it tasted. The best thing that restaurant has is the flan. (Tastes best without the whipped cream and cherries). read more

Went around 4pm on a Saturday. Wasn't too many people there and no one was waiting. We were there before the dinner rush. Everyone we interacted with was friendly and helpful. The chips and salsa was so good, I was inhaling them. I ordered the La Bamba Burrito with steak and my husband had the Real Mexican Tacos with chicken. I don't think my husband knew what real tacos are like but he said they were ok. We ended up switching meals because I love real tacos, especially the corn tortillas. I ate 1/4 of the burrito and it was excellent. Loved the guacamole on the said. My husband also claims he doesn't like guacamole but ate all of it. He stated "Well the guacamole I had before didn't taste like this!" He also had a margarita (forgot the name of it). It was very good. I had a Mandarin Jarritos. Had it not been raining all week and this weekend, we would have sat outside. Also, my husband stated the restaurant used to be a pizza franchise he went often as a kid.
