Walked past several restaurants to get to this one because it looked good. Pretty trendy place and a little on the high side for pricing. The menu was somewhat limited. The place is warmly lit, the staff is well dressed and it feels high end. Everyone was courteous and professional. The margaritas were outstanding, tacos excellent and the salsa flight was perfect. The chips were some of the best restaurant chips I've ever had. Love love love this place. It's a great place for a first date.

Decided to check out something new while in the area for work and very happy I did! The bar area is very cute with plenty of space. After reviewing the menu and talking to the bartender, I opted for a Hibiscus Margarita and Tuna Crudo Tostados. The margarita was not too sweet/not too sour and definitely packed a punch. I'd call it small but mighty and pretty tasty. The tostadas were the real star though. The ingredients were perfectly paired and tasted so fresh that every bite was a delight. Definitely worth stopping by.

The food was good, loved the fish taco. The pork in the Al Pastor and Carnitas was pretty tough, but the flavors were there. Birria was nice and tender but it had been slow cooked forever and it really hit the spot.Nice that it had goat, oxtail and beef in it. Nice flavor bomb. I could put that deliciousness on some mashed potatoes! That and the guacamole were definitely the favorites. The flank steak also had tenderness and flavor issues. The salsa flight was great, but the two little cups( and now I see why that size) were hot as hades so keep that in mind. The other salsas were great and what normal people eat. Had a Paloma for the first time. I liked it. The spicy margarita was just that. Fine for me, but my wimpy son struggled between that and trying the hot salsa that I TOLD him not to eat. I thought we were going to have to get him some milk! Guava margarita was also had, but since I cannot even wrap my head around that one, I did not try it. Service was quite slow. All in all, probably more of a 3.5, however the really good dishes were just that. Speed up the service a tad. I don't like to spend more than 2 hrs. for dinner. Had fun with the group.

Milpa Taco & Bar is a cozy and comfortable spot located in the heart of Cocoa Village. We chose to sit inside, which had a warm and relaxed vibe, though they also offer outdoor seating for those who prefer to dine al fresco. We started off with the chorizo queso fundido -- creamy, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. We also ordered the salsa flight, which came with four different types of salsas, each offering its own unique flavor and spice level -- definitely a must-try if you love variety. For our main course, we tried three different tacos: the chicharrón taco topped with pickled onions, a steak taco, and a beef cheek taco -- that last one was new for me, and surprisingly tender and flavorful. Overall, it was a great foodie experience -- tasty dishes, cozy atmosphere, and friendly service. Highly recommend Milpa Taco & Bar if you're in Cocoa Village and craving authentic, flavorful Mexican cuisine!

Nice authentic taco spot in cocoa village. Super quaint and cute side of town. Lots of parking in the back and easy area to adventure around. Ordered the Taco Tuesday special for all you can eat tacos at $19.95. The tortillas were homemade and some of the best I've ever had. They offer indoor and outdoor seating. The bar area is big and the bartender was extremely friendly and knowledgeable when it came to tequilas. Spotless bathrooms are my pet peeve and keep my business. If you're in town on a Tuesday, I recommend trying out their various tacos during AYCE.

Excellent service; all staff is super nice and attentive. The food is delicious, we'll come back every time we visit Cocoa Village.

This was a very nice refreshing lunch. I loved the outside seating. Even though we were outside I didn't feel like we were forgotten. The service was on point. The guacamole was so fresh and delicious. I was nervous about the jalapeno and that it would be too spicy but it was not. I also really like that you can purchase tacos individually so you can really get what you like. Yes, it's a tapas style but I've been to ones where they give you big servings of the same, to share. The only thing I would have liked is ice in the water since we were outside. The sun made the water warm quickly. Aside from that, I'll be visiting again!

Honestly, so fricken good! Marcos was our server and made us feel like guests in his home. This whole place, although modern and chic, had a feel as if you were at your friends house. Service was off the charts. All the tacos were incredible. My favorite was the shrimp but honestly you can't go wrong. Drinks were strong. Everything was perfectly priced! So glad we found this place and if you're ever in this area this is a must!! Thank you to the whole Milpas team for a fantastic dinner that kicked off our vacay

Milla is a cute spot in an awesome location in Cocoa Village. I have been twice now, and they definitely have an authentic menu with traditional style tacos. I enjoyed my flautas and the enchiladas verdes, but I don't think they're anything amazing. I did not like the tres leches at all, and I found it quite dry. The prices are a bit high for everything on the menu, particularly considering the portion sizes. Both times, I have not had great service, with drinks taking long, infrequent check ins, and issues with the bill being incorrect. Milpa is definitely a cute spot to check out, but I wouldn't go out of my way to dine here.

Desert, Ice cream and brownie. Excellent!!!

Happy hour margaritas for $5 was very fair. Mole enchiladas were good, Pollo something was excellent. Chips and queso was very cheesy (authentic). Service started slow because of staff availability but was excellent. Nice setting, very peaceful on a Monday. Looking forward to trying their taco Tuesday:)

A notable corn mural on the outside, ties the Mexican tradition of farming into the name Milpa perfectly. The interior dining has a soft white boho modern aesthetic and the patio gives a soft casual outdoor feel. There's an interior and exterior patio available which makes it flexible to get an outdoor feel regardless of weather. Now for food, I ordered the Arrechera taco and Carnitas taco with a small side of guacamole. Both tacos were delicious with their own unique flavors. Traditionally, I am a carnitas person but the arrechera taco surprisingly beat the carnitas with its savory sauce. The coconut mojito mocktail was absolutely delightful and flavorful with an great balance of mint and sweetness. The waitress I had was very personable and attentive in making sure the food was good and checking to see if I needed anything. The food came hot and quick. As a first time experience, I'd say this was a 10/10. I look forward to going back to try more things on their menu!

We tried this place on our way to Cocoa Beach and came back because it was so good. The flautas were delicious, we liked the taco variety. All were different and delicious. The pickled red onion was a great addition. The bruleed flan was to die for. We wanted to try the tres leches but we were stuffed. Sad that we live far away. Service was also excellent!

The place clearly has a strong neighborhood vibe. Even on a holiday, it felt like a regular hangout spot where many of the patrons seemed to know each other and the bartenders. That kind of atmosphere always adds a layer of warmth you can't manufacture. Service-wise, our waitress was very friendly and attentive when she was at the table. Food delivery did take longer than expected considering the restaurant didn't appear overly busy, but to be fair, it was a specialized St. Patrick's Day menu which likely slowed the kitchen down. Now to the food. My co-diner ordered the corned beef Reuben, served on grilled rye with a generous pile of crinkle fries. The sandwich was stacked with tender corned beef and had that classic deli-style balance of meat and sauerkraut. He described it simply as "very good," which from him is a strong endorsement. I ordered the traditional Irish stew with potatoes and cabbage, which came plated with a hearty portion of mashed potatoes. The stew itself had a few nice chunks of beef and vegetables in a rich brown gravy that definitely leaned into bold seasoning. The only note is that the pepper level was quite heavy across the stew, mashed potatoes, and cabbage. If you're someone who enjoys a strong pepper-forward flavor profile, this will absolutely be right up your alley. Portions were generous and the meal definitely delivered that comfort-food, stick-to-your-ribs Irish pub feeling. Overall, a positive experience with friendly service, a welcoming neighborhood atmosphere, and hearty holiday fare. I'd happily come back again -- especially to explore more of the regular menu outside the St. Patrick's Day rush.

**INITIAL REVIEW**…read more Apparently, the Yelp Skynet a.k.a. the AI that green or red flags reviews, doesn't like the actual name of this pub despite the fact it is the pub's name. Ergo, I will use the abbreviation VI for the remainder of this review. Besides that, you really can't go wrong going to any of the pubs in Historic Cocoa Village. VI is one of the pubs on the eastern side of the Village, in between the famous Fat Donkey's Ice Cream and the furthest east pub in the village, Ryan's. Appearance-wise, the outside fits primarily with the building, but there are some minute details that give it its own personality, primarily around its name. There is also a section of the road and sidewalk that have been garrisoned for VI as outdoor seating and games such as bean bag toss. Indoors, it is definitely your kinda pub that many of the patrons are friends. The right side (East) have long tables with many pub and drinking games such as Hook & Ring and Shut The Box. There is a bookshelf filled to the brim with board games in case patrons prefer traditional or childhood classics. The left side (West) is the "Patio," a room that is decorated by numerous plants, neon lighting, widker and a black-and-white checkerboard floor. Finally, the middle of the pub is the actual bar, in the form of an L-shape serving a nice arrangement of beers from many breweries, cideries, distilleries, and meaderies across the United States. I had the Kentucky Vanilla Barrel Cream Ale by Lexington Brewing and Distilling Co. Other beer selections I would recommend include the Pineapple Cider by the famous Carib Brewing Co. and the Mango Cart by Golden Road Brewing. Personal note on the latter: Mango Carts, well for me, only taste good when straight from the tap. Cans are not good. And the food, it is minimal, but boy does VI know how to tug at my heartstrings as everything they have features, or could feature, cheese. They have pretzels with cheese, pickles with cheese, and my personal favorite, grilled cheese sandwiches. And for the more sophisticated patron, they have numerous choices in charcuterie boards, too. I will also state the drink prices are a bit on the high side compared to some other places I been to. And there are two restrooms that are single-serving and gender-specific. I don't believe the latter has to be gender-specific because they are single-serving. The barn doors are an interesting choice because they are not very good at blocking sound. I guess that is why VI blasts the music so nobody can hear the flatulence. Speaking of music, VI does have a small corner stage for small acts, possibly singular, to perform. Unless there is a pull-out large stage for outdoor performances, I don't see big bands, per se in higher number of members, performing here unless they can all jam in that tight-spaced stage. Ultimately, I am going to give VI three-out-of-five stars for this review. They are a solid pub that has all the fixin's of a good bar to go to. Maybe it is safe to say they really don't stand out too much, especially amongst the more unique bars in Historic Cocoa Village. But still, a good place to have a drink with friends with that "Everybody knows your name" kinda vibe.
