Delicious food! So nice to have different options in Dexter, ordered it for a big group luncheon and everyone enjoyed it!

As someone who use to live in a culturally dead area, it was so nice to discover such a lovely place. I was addicted to their chicken shawarma wrap for a while, but the last time I went in, the worker was yelling into his phone loudly in a language I didn't know and barely looked at me as a came to the counter. I said my name and pointed to the sandwich and he nodded and went back to his phone call. Ordered some delivery here and was honestly wowed! I loved everything I ordered! I picked up more than a few things so I could have a few meals including an order of hummus, (fluffy!) pita, a chicken shawarma sandwich, a side of rice (huge!), an order of baba ganoush, and a few meat pies. All the portions were massive and so delicious. The rice alone could be like three meals. I ordered extra pita because I wasn't sure how much would come with the hummus and baba ganoush on their own but that was silly because they were very generous! Though I can't complain about extra pita! It definitely added up a bit on price but because it lasted me for many meals I didn't stress too much about it. I ended up ordering for dinner but they do also have a bangin' lunch menu which has some great sandwich and entree options for a smaller price point, like a sandwich and a side or an entree and two sides for around $13-15. read more

They are located in a strip mall. All store fronts looks the same. Nothing sets the place apart from other businesses. 2. FOOD/DRIINKS = 3 Food was good. We have eaten here twice in last couple weeks. Food has been tasty. Chicken kabobs. Lamb chops. Shawarna. Chicken was dry and slightly burned. Hot rolls with garlic dip was very good. 3. SERVICE = 3 We have had great service attentive. Not overbearing. Only one person serving tables. Could be an issues with higher table loading. 4. BATHROOM = did not use 5. PRICING = 2 (This is my new norm for coding. Why? A place in a strip mall.) I am beginning to accept more and more that the inflation of the last 4 years has brought us the new norm of 30% higher eating out prices. But it starts to impact tipping. Tax and tips. So we carry cash and tip between 10 and 15%. The server gets money right than. The lamb chops for 3 and two sides $37.00. I had chicken kabobs for $22. Raw veggie was $6.99. If you have a smoothie it is $6.99. Stick with water. 6. OBSERVATION We have given the place two trys. But probably will not visit again. All things considered it is overpriced for a strip mall setting. Though they have a high traffic take out. In both on site visits we noted. The inside traffic has been at min 2 to 3 table groups. But each time was on a Tuesday. Like Mexican resteraunt this mid eastern offers thier own food group. If they just said mid eastern food you would know. When you decide to eat Mexican you know what they will offer. All taste the same. Nothing sets them apart from the other similiar places. 7. Just ate here for lunch...what a hidden gem! We got the sampler platter ($56) which was enough to feed 4-5 people. The platter had 4 apps, 4 meats, fries/rice, AND 2 sides (veggie option available too for sampler). And comes with unlimited warm pita bread and garlic sauce. Amazing service - he kept checking in and asking if we needed more. The meat kafta was well seasoned and juicy and they had a meat version of grape leaves that was super yummy. As it comes to restaurants that I've visited in Dexter, this is the best. The outside is very unassuming in a strip mall. The inside is clean and the staff welcoming and friendly! Ms. Emma was friendly, helpful, and polite as we had some questions about the Egyptian Mediterranean food that we were not as familiar with and was very patient and informative. First visit for the two of us and it could not have been better. The location is easy to find. Plenty of parking. The dining room was bright and clean. Our server was very nice and fun. She delivered our plates with a BOOM! Then when when ordered rice pudding for dessert, it was a surprise and she got all giddy. I asked her why she got excited when we ordered rice pudding. She said she just likes making it. LOL My lamb combo came with side salad and rice pilaf. I love the rice pilaf with toasted almonds on top. The salad is very light and fresh. Great palette cleanser after the hummus and bread appetizer with small side toom. The bread was fresh and hot little pillows with crisp outside and soft center. We left with a lot of leftovers. Hidden gem for sure! Tried this place tonight for the first time and will be going back! Cute and clean little restaurant tucked in a strip mall. No wait to get a table and service was excellent. Our server was on top of it! I ordered the Galabah stir-fry with lamb *zesty and it was wonderful. The Fattoush salad was probably the best I've ever tried. It was a prefect balance of flavors. I had lunch here today with a friend who is a regular here. Their lunch specials are amazing. For $11.99, you get a delicious sandwich and a choice of soup or salad. We had the lamb shawarma sandwich and the house salad. They brought soft, pillowy, delicious pita and toum to start. Fab! The salad was simple but amazingly delicious. The dressing is perfectly balanced. The shawarma was fantastic and loaded with very lean lamb. Y friend is in love with the hot sweet tea, as well. Ls Marsa Dexter is a pleasant Near Eastern place in the Ann Arbor-Dexter road. I had a falafel sandwich as a late lunch. It was fine in every way except that it was thin cigar of a sandwich, more snack than meal. The extra pita bread was freshly made and absolutely delicious though. I'm lucky enough to live near La Marsa in Troy so I was thrilled to get a taste of home in Dexter. The food at this location was as good as or better than at mine. My veggie moussaka had a wonderful sweet savory flavor. The grilled veggies were cooked well as requested, with planks of zucchini complementing the usual carrots, peppers, and onions. The fattoush salad had crispy pita in addition to the lettuce, tomato, onions, and oil dressing (I prefer more dark lettuce and sumac and less onion but that's just me). I also loved the fresh oven-baked bread, crispy outside and squishy inside, with intense Lebanese garlic cream sauce as a dip. I highly recommend a stop here if you are in the area. read more

Got the lunch combo sandwich deal. Portion sizes were great and the food was too. Upgrading the salad for $1 to Greek Salad was definitely the call. For sandwich got the grape leaves and hummus veggie sandwich and added Tabouli for $0.49 -- well worth it. Came w pita and toum as well! All the food was very tasty. Would give 4.5 stars if I could. We ordered the La Marsa Feast with a couple of extra Kabobs for a working lunch. It was a very important meeting with a high-profile customer, La Marsa delivered!! Literally and with an amazing meal, the customers commented several times on how this was the perfect meal, and everything was prepared to perfection! There was a total of 8 people, everyone had seconds and there were plenty leftovers. Abdul the manager really helped us out with having someone from his staff deliver it for us and also throw in 8 pcs of baklava for dessert. On our fourth visit I very much enjoyed the Moussaka it was flavorful and the portion size was generous. As in the previous visits, the grilled vegetable side dish is not to be missed. This place was delicious. We had the toum, pita bread, and chicken kabobs. The side salad I ordered was jumbo for a side salad which did not bother me at all it's nice to see you actually get a side salad that's a decent size. Next came the chicken kabobs and rice. The chicken was decently flavored and went well with the rice. My favorite was the pita bread. It was nice and airy. Our waitress was very attentive and really nice. The owner even checked in on us. This was a takeout order, our second. A lunch order of wraps last year was so-so, which I put down to their being new in town. This was a dinner order with entrees. Service was friendly, the best part of the visit. Koshary with beef was not bad, as was the Oma Ali. Chicken shawarma was dry and lacking flavor, essentially just a pile of cooked chicken. The 'beef' with hummus was these odd little nuggets of gristly flavorless meat, and very few of them. The hummus was creamy, and flavorless. Grilled veg consisted of large greasy slabs of sweet pepper and unpeeled carrots, with a couple of token bits of zucchini. The carrots weren't sufficiently cooked and all of it was basically a slimy oily mess. Tabbouleh? 98% parsley, 1% each raw onion and underripe tomato with not a trace of bulgar in sight. The garden salad was 95+% lettuce, with a 'dressing' that was a cup of flavorless oil, with a trace of something living on the bottom of the takeout cups in which it came. The only bit of the meal that seemed actually authentic was the garlic sauce. Interestingly enough, I had a string of poor experiences with the former Ann Arbor location that they shuttered several years ago. I love Middle Eastern food and have enjoyed great meals in many cities and multiple countries. This meal was really poor and feels mostly like $100 wasted. Sorry to say we won't be back. read more
