Ghallaba - Lamb Sandwich, puff pita for the Hommous, garlic sauce, and French fries

As it comes to restaurants that I've visited in Dexter, this is the best. The outside is very unassuming in a strip mall. The inside is clean and the staff welcoming and friendly! Ms. Emma was friendly, helpful, and polite as we had some questions about the Egyptian Mediterranean food that we were not as familiar with and was very patient and informative. Everything we ordered was very good and made quickly. As we left all the staff said goodbye and waved. I will definitely return here.

First visit for the two of us and it could not have been better. The location is easy to find. Plenty of parking. The dining room was bright and clean. Our server was very nice and fun. She delivered our plates with a BOOM! Then when when ordered rice pudding for dessert, it was a surprise and she got all giddy. I asked her why she got excited when we ordered rice pudding. She said she just likes making it. LOL My lamb combo came with side salad and rice pilaf. I love the rice pilaf with toasted almonds on top. The salad is very light and fresh. Great palette cleanser after the hummus and bread appetizer with small side toom. The bread was fresh and hot little pillows with crisp outside and soft center. We left with a lot of leftovers. The bill was about $52. Definitely visiting again.

Hidden gem for sure! Tried this place tonight for the first time and will be going back! Cute and clean little restaurant tucked in a strip mall. No wait to get a table and service was excellent. Our server was on top of it! I ordered the Galabah stir-fry with lamb *zesty and it was wonderful. The Fattoush salad was probably the best I've ever tried. It was a prefect balance of flavors. The bread was also delicious. Hot and a little crusty on the outside, soft in the inside. Went perfect with the garlic paste which was plentiful. Definite thumbs up for me!

I had lunch here today with a friend who is a regular here. Their lunch specials are amazing. For $11.99, you get a delicious sandwich and a choice of soup or salad. We had the lamb shawarma sandwich and the house salad. They brought soft, pillowy, delicious pita and toum to start. Fab! The salad was simple but amazingly delicious. The dressing is perfectly balanced. The shawarma was fantastic and loaded with very lean lamb. Y friend is in love with the hot sweet tea, as well. I will definitely return to try their other options, and take plenty home!

Food and service were excellent. The restaurant was clean and the staff was very welcoming. The pricing was fair for the portions. You definitely get enough to take home. The authentic music playing over the house speakers was a very nice touch and created a fun ambiance. Great to have something new in the area!

The spread! Phone did not eat first this time!

We LOVE this place! Their fattoush salad with shawarma is insane and so fresh. Hummus is unreal, lemon oregano chicken is a huge portion and delish, amazing service (thanks Cole!) and it's nice that you can come casual or dressed up. Quiet, tons of seating, etc. 10/10 !!

Delicious and friendly staff. Hummus is tasty. Chicken kabobs also very good. They gave you a good amount of pitas with takeout.

We got seated right before a waitlist started building. The QR code ordering wasn't working for us, but you can just order at the counter and the staff were helpful, so it wasn't a big deal. I got the Juicy Sean wrap, the pkhali side plate, and the chocolate tahini shake. The walleye in the wrap was really good, super fresh and light. I think next time I'd get extra sauce though because it leaned a little dry for me. The pkhali side plate was great. I've heard it's seasonal, which makes me want to come back and see what else they rotate in. The flatbread paired really well with it. The chocolate tahini shake was good. I'd heard a lot about it. It just didn't stand out as much as I expected personally. Overall I really liked it and I'd come back, especially to try more of the seasonal stuff.

Very quick and friendly service. It's nice also that each table gets a QR code to order, which means that we didn't have to worry about splitting the bill. I tried the Juicy Sean Bowl and enjoyed it very much. I was curious about the sauce. Being Thai and seeing they have Prik Nam Pla was intriguing. Though it wasn't exactly authentic, it was pretty good! I liked the toppings, but felt like the ratio between toppings:rice was too low. I ended up with a lot of rice and nothing to eat it with. Could have definitely used more fish. I also tried some of the Pkhali and it was really good! The flavor of the wrap was delicious also. Highly recommended.

Shoutout to my friend and fellow foodie Tiffany for always being down to try a new spot together!…read moreWe did a double date at El Harissa recently and it's my favorite kind of spot - welcoming and warm, with delicious food, and kind, patient employees. The cafe is a few tables inside of the market/deli, with a lot of takeout happening but I love that they offer dining in as they heat everything up for you and it's all presented very nicely. We ordered a ton of things: harissa dip, hummus, pita, spice roasted cauliflower, tabbouleh, lasagne verde, chicken tagine, and gelato. I loved that the menu indicates which menu items have a smaller carbon footprint - and we happened to be dining there on Earth Day! The food was all flavorful and the perfect temperature, which I appreciated. My favorites were the harissa dip, tabbouleh, and the lasagne verde. The chicken tagine was very good, and we enjoyed the leftovers the next day. The spice roasted cauliflower left us wanting it to be a bit more crispy, but it was a nice side. The gelato is delicious - it's made by Palazzolo's but El Harissa provides them with the unique ingredients for their specialty flavors. They were out of some but we got to sample several. We ended up with the roasted pistachio gelato and the apricot peach cardamom. The texture of the gelato was perfectly creamy and the flavors were strong. The market has lots of great items to buy: chips, tunisian olive wood pieces, spices, etc. I'm so glad we sought out this spot and can't wait to get more of their food!
