Purchased a 5th wheel that was nothing but problems. Most recently purchased a Class A last month from the TUCSON location. On our way to our first camping trip and the propane was leaking out. We had to drive it to La Mesa in Mesa to have it basically red taped for safety. There should have been a safety check on this with the dealer. They told us we were full of propane when we left. That was a lie. Now we know why they didn't fill it. If they did fill it and it leaked they would have noticed the loud sound. If they let us take the rig in that condition I would consider this grossly negligent and criminal. Had my husband not recognized this problem we would probably be dead. Then we find the air conditioning isn't working and the refrigerator doesn't latch shut so our food falls out at every turn. We called the manager at La Mesa in Tucson today and the response we received was that it's a house on wheels. Keep in mind we have not had a camping trip yet. This is a brand new 2019 Class A. So $100,000 later we have no RV, paying for reservations at Lake Pleasant which it's now too late to cancel, $200 in spoiled food, $60 in propane and here we sit at home. Great response La Mesa. They owe more to us that a reimbursement on a propane receipt. Shame on them. They should be counting their blessings today that their grossly negligent behavior did not kill us and their lack of a safety check before releasing and selling the vehicle was safety checked by my husband. Then with this leak we are told to drive 30 minutes while it's leaking to bring it in. La Mesa TUCSON needs to step up and do the right thing. Stop selling unsafe crap and putting the general public in extreme danger. I caution anyone to deal with these morons. read more

One of the most horrible experiences ever. Took our 2011 Coachmen Freelander Class C, which we purchased there, in for repair because of a water leak that went undetected for years. It wasn't until it dripped on me while driving that I knew I had one. Water had finally migrated the entire length of the overhead bunk area. Took it in the day after Christmas and it was a few weeks before they took a look. It was all rotted and our first quote was 3300. I said go for it. A week or so later, all stop. We've tore into a bit more and we don't think we can do it other than fabricate it ourselves. More labor, etc. Since we had a commitment, I agreed, again. Then another couple of weeks, and got a call from Carlos. The overhead panel is structural and has to be ordered from the factory. Four weeks to make, then ship. Carlos did seem to push that along and they had the part 5 days before we had to be at our job. One problem, no tech to do anything. Finally the following Monday, they started to get it back together. It was done late Tuesday and we picked it up Wednesday. Looked it over quickly and took off. Final cost was almost double the first estimate, but with it tore apart, they had us. Took it home and gave it a quick clean inside. The whole time it was being worked on, nothing was covered inside. Went to our commitment for just over two weeks. Brought it home and started to wash it and the new caulk started to peel off. It wouldn't stick to the dirt that was under it. Called back and brought it in. Pointed out the issues and left. A day later, Carlos called, all done. But, the service said they would only do the spots I pointed out, not all the caulking. Picked it up today, and I know it was parked outside, but it was filthy. We've had some pretty good winds lately. But I would think as a good will justure, they could have at least hosed it down. Carlos did ask if I had talked with the shop foreman. Said nope, what's the point. I just got in and went home. I will never give those people any more of my time or business. On second thought it did come with a 90 labor and 1 year parts warranty. Yippee !! read more

Jay Castro who runs this so called business and uses statements like we are balls to the walls busy and can't help you has ran and worked for la mesa RV for over twenty years. Ryan the service manager has no care for customer service or good service of any kind. I would just say to anyone if you don't stop going to la Mesa this is why the tolerate Jay Castro and Ryan from service to continue this very poorly ran business that is all about them not the guest or customer. We bought our RV in San Diego, but recently moved near Tucson. We bought our RV in for a recall maintenance issue and were absolutely delighted with our service there! We were greeted by name on arrival. Carlos, our service advisor, took great care of us from start to finish. There were no long waits, things happened exactly in the manner Carlos explained. 03/22/22 La Mesa RV Tucson I scheduled far in advance to have particular items to be performed. We are fulltime RVer's so it's very critical that schedules are kept as the RV is our home. I must say that all phone communications from La Mesa RV were very polite and professional. One item that I considered I requested a price quote for the labor & materials, I received that quote and after I digested the amount I gave them the go ahead so that any/all parts could be ordered as needed. The service day came, we dropped off the RV, we received a call from the contact person I had been dealing with stating that some work had been completed but that they needed to reorder a part that was originally ordered wrong. Ok, we extended our stay at a RV campground to accommodate the additional time needed to get in the correct part. Returned the coach back to La Mesa for that item to be installed. They got us in very quickly and did the installation. We were called and given a completion timeframe which was great. The part that is very disappointing was when it came time to pay, the quote I was given was much less then the actual final price. I questioned the price difference and was told that the recorded part was more expensive. At that time my wife and I were trying to get on the road to our next destination a distance away. Looking back on the situation I should have forced the issue of the additional cost. The other item that is more concerning to me is that my itemized billing indicated that I agreed to an estimate for that one particular item that was inflated from the price quote I received from La Mesa originally. This issue is very unprofessional and is a questionable business practice. read more

We purchased a 5th Wheel in March of 2020 and have had nothing but issues with La Mesa RV Tucson. We use to have Darlene as our service advisor and she was amazing!! But since she's been gone we've had nothing but issues with the service department. The customer service is awful Michael and Edwardo are a joke! Nothing but lies and broken promises. Our 5th Wheel has been in service for 7 weeks now and they still have not fixed everything that is needing to be fixed. Our hydraulic jacks gave out in the middle of a camping trip at the end of April. Mind you this is a 2020 RV so this shouldn't happen a few other things needed to be fixed as well we dropped it off May 5 and we still don't have EVERYTHING done!!! I never write bad reviews, I always give the benefit of the doubt but I feel like upper management needs to see this. Such poor service. I also left Jay Castro Corporate Contact and specifically asked that he contact me directly so that I can discuss some issues we've experienced in the past year and he completely ignored me. He contacted my husband instead and still has not returned my call nor my husbands since I left message two weeks ago. Never Referring anyone to La Mesa RV in Tucson!!!!! Your service dept was very aware of us bringing the 5th wheel in when we did. Regardless of an appt or not it shouldn't take 7 weeks to fix ANYTHING! Blaming the times is not the reason when someone says parts will be ordered and then you find out that 5 weeks later parts were barley ordered says more about your service dept then it does of the supply chain businesses. And as far as you communicating with my husband is un true because it took the warranty to call us to ask why are 5th wheel was still there when it was dropped off May 5th. Warranty people were shocked that it sat for 5 weeks before Michael even called to put anything through to the warranty company!!!! I had to call La Mesa and speak to Eduardo to find WTH was going on!! Very unprofessional!! Customer service is AWFUL! Drove to La Mesa in Tucson Arizona from California because we finally found the exact floor plan we wanted. Paid $130,000 for our RV. Drove it back to California and only took it out once and had to sell due to health reasons. Sold it to a family member and he noticed RV was leaning. Found out there were 2 broken cross members and underneath had multiple cracks. We are VERY disappointed that La Mesa didn't find this issue. Did they not even inspect it like they said they did? We actually drove this RV back to California! If you buy from La Mesa in Tuscan you need to make sure everything is inspected including frame! read more

Salesman smelled like he had been drinking all morning. The salesman couldn't answer any questions about the product he was trying to sell. The unit was used and in filthy condition. You could smell sewer thru out the coach. We asked why they didn't clean them before showing them he said they won't detail them until sold?? Who wants to buy something that smells like shit? I brought in my recently purchased Fleetwood Storm into for an inspection and am so very pleased with the service provided to me by Carlos Maya. He stated the price up front and the long list of checks they would perform. In a few hours, the inspection was complete. They did a thourough job of both the coach and the chassis. The confirmed the two major issues, tires and house batteries. Which I took care of after. Love that they did not take advantage of us. We will be back to handle the AC, water heater, fridge and generator service when we return from our trip. read more

We recently had a problem with the bedroom slide-out refusing to come in on our Montana 5th wheel. We called La Mesa RV in Tucson, and Robert Burden, Eduardo and a young assistant came to the RV park within an hour to assess the problem. Eduardo quickly ascertained that the entire floor under the bed had rotted out due to an unobserved water leak. As we were already days late for a trip to Northern Minnesota, any additional delay would hurt. Robert got our rig straight in to the shop, despite heavy bookings, and had all our problems immediately attended to over the next two days, no small thing as the entire bedoom floor had to be re-built and mouldy carpet replaced. Their quick and thorough attention was most appreciated, and we were back on the road in 48 hours. They went out of their way to explain all work and give us tips for future routine maintenance. A verbal commitment to do a "fresh alignment" was made at sale and La Mesa failed to keep that commitment even though the salesman confirmed the commitment was in fact made. Plus this is just one of numerous issues to include flat out no excuse lying about work being completed and billed under warranty when in fact the tech never touched it. DON'T GO TO LAMESA anywhere! We bought a 2017 5th wheel from them in December 2016. In January 2017 one of the rollers popped off of the 18 foot kitchen slide room. Took it in for repair and they said it was completed. In 2018 the vinyl flooring was bubbling up in living area. Took it in and Heartland gave them the okay to repair it. The repair was a very visible jagged cut under the slide and a seam put in the center of the living area. After two years later the flooring is coming apart at the now visible seam they put in. I was going to have the flooring repaired by some one here where we now live. But, the slides left corner was found to be dragging on the vinyl flooring. Thinking it just had to be adjusted I consulted with Affinity RV in Prescott Valley. It was noted that there were two rollers on the 18 foot slide room missing. I consulted with the service department at LaMesa RV in Tucson and was told they removed unnecessary rollers as per direction from Heartland. I called Heartlands service department and was told that LaMesa was told to replace roller and readjust slide room. Why would you remove rollers on an 18 foot slide holding appliances! Besides getting lied to by LaMesa and now that they won't assist in the $1300.00 cost of new rollers and the adjustment of the slide room. I can't afford to have the vinyl flooring replaced or repaired! I will continue the fight through other media and publications. read more

Unfortunate the experience that my fiancé and I had with La Mesa RV was nothing close to what we hoped. Our visit began on Feb 29th with Frank Martinez, who was a wonderful sales associate. He was not pushy, very respectful and took his time. Once we found the travel trailer we liked, EVERYTHING went down hill. Our information was taken, our finance filled out and we were presented with a price of $26500 for the trailer. We were given a write up to show the price for the purchase and our interest rate approvals. We decided that we wanted to think on the purchase and the sales manager said that was fine. At this point we were not told that there would be any changes. When we returned today to purchase the trailer we were presented with a price that was $3000 higher and a 2% higher interest rate. When we became upset by the changed the sales manager told us he only said the other price to make a sale at the end of the month and would not offer us anything close to that price...less than a week later. I reached out to the corporate office regarding our experience and were provided with no help. The corporate office stated the individual locations can act without their guidance and they did nothing wrong. The individual also stated that we should come back at the end of another month and try again and "take the offer next time". Not honoring your word, and treating customer like just another sale, but not real individuals shows lack of business ethics, and integrity. The lack of integrity from this business and the way they feel they can treat customers is disgusting. It's unfortunate that they have great sales team, and horrible management. We strongly advise you to avoid doing any business with LA Mesa RV in Tucson. Our nightmare started when we went to an RV sale at the Pima County Fairgrounds. Our salesman misled us about what we could expect in trade-in value. He lied about condition issues of the interior of the coach. The finance person made a very sexist comment about my credit card balance. (He said I must have had a good time shopping when, in reality, I had just paid for my sisters in law's funeral). Unfortunately, my husband really wanted a new RV so we went ahead with the purchase. On our first trip from Tucson, we had to stop in Phoenix for service because of a battery problem. The nightmare continued when we would take the new RV in for service for warranty issues. Incompetent hardly begins to describe the service department. Repairs routinely took longer than promised. Multiple trips were needed to get several items fixed. Our breaking point was when the sales manager felt the need to involve himself in a service issue. I asked him when the RV could be declared a lemon. His response was that La Mesa would help us with financing on a new RV if we wanted to trade in our not yet year old coach! We will never again do business with LA Mesa RV. read more

Well, I am glad I did not read some of the other reviews before we went to La Mesa here in Tucson. I don't know if my experience was better than the other reviews reflect or they have listened and improved the areas of concern. We have over the years been on and off about buying an RV. We have had two RV's in the past (a small bumper tow and a 32' 5th wheel). We have gone back and forth thinking of everything from small Class C to tag axel Class A's (I drove for Greyhound for 10 years so size was not a cause for concern). We decided that because it is getting close to the end of the season in Tucson and we have a Summer cabin on the coast up in the Pacific Northwest to just go take a look and see what is available. What we wanted was something to make the drive between our winter Tucson home and summer Washington State home a little more fun and more of an adventure than I-5. The salesman that met us was Chris Johns. He turned out to be the perfect salesman for us. If we had a pushy sales man we would have been gone in 5 min. Chris listened (now pay attention here.... the salesman LISTENED) to what we were thinking. He showed us a couple of RV's and, again LISTENED, to what we liked and did not like on each model he showed us. On about the 5th one he had a pretty good idea of what we wanted and showed us a perfect one. We were quite pleased and actually, now that we have it home and have had a chance to really look at it in more detail are even happier. This is the end of the season here in Tucson so the prices were pretty good. They were clearly marked on each vehicle and they did not mess around. The unit we bought had a little over 2,000 miles on it. It is new but there is a certain amount of mileage from the factory and this one had probably been moved between some shows and maybe even one La Mesa dealership and another. Anyway I asked them to do an oil change because 2,000 miles on a new vehicle is a lot of miles. The service manager balked about doing that. I was not too pleased but wanted it done before I took off (did not feel like having a new vehicle and having to stop on the 3rd day of a trip and change the oil). Well, our salesman Chris stepped in and talked to someone in management and they ended up doing the oil change at no cost. That was nice. Otherwise it would have left a kind of bad feeling. It was the best 7 quarts of oil and 15 min of tech time the dealership ever spent because if I ever decide I want another RV, I will definitely check them out first. One would think the service adviser could have figured that out without getting the sales staff and management involved. That was the reason they got 4 stars instead of 5. read more

Bought a new 2018 Fleetwood LXE. Le Mesa had a week to get it ready for delivery. On the day of pickup they just began prepping it. The day we did get on the road we ran into all kinds of issues. Found water leaks in the bathroom, noises in the dash, air leaks in the front, cab air conditioning would not work properly, bent jack pad, cruise control quit working, one roof vent broken, lights not working in a couple compartments just to name few. Paid for the extra paint protection and interior fabric protection Found out from another Le Mesa dealer that it was partially done. The Le Mesa dealer in Florida wasn't any better. We had a blowout on I-10 and the tire managed to damage the plastic underside of the tank bin. Good Sam recommended La Mesa RV service for the repair. We pulled in and in under 30 minutes they had us fixed up at a fantastic price, recommended a nearby tire shop and gave us a heads up there was a KOA just around the corner. Darlene in Service and Jerry in Sales were extremely helpful and communication with them throughout the process was excellent. With that being said, we were sold a defective Travel Trailer. When we first drove it off the lot and onto the freeway another car had to come up next us and inform us that our Trailer was smoking. We returned it to the dealership and had to wait a month (all of June) before it was ready to take home. Before we bought the Trailer I told my husband (in Dec) that if he did not buy a Trailer this summer, then we were going to take the boys to NYC. We bought the Trailer and began to make summer travel plans for June (the one month my husband has off) since the Trailer was defective June 1st and there was no ETA for when it would be ready we had to cancel our summer vacation plans. No Trailer, no camping, no NYC. We did not have a summer family vacation. I had to cancel all of the reservations I had made to RV campgrounds. I do not understand why we paid 1,000 for an inspection that, in my opinion was pointless. Was it inspected? If it was inspected how was this potentially soon to be smoking tire missed? Was the 1,000 dollars for someone to walk around it? Don't you think that at the very least we should get a refund of some sort considering that this Trailer cost us our summer vacation, a paid storage spot that sat empty, our first payment for something that we did not have? These grievances have caused unnecessary stress for my husband and I. I do expect someone to get back to us with some form or reimbursement or compensation so that when our friends begin looking for a Trailer of their own I would be willing to send them your way. read more

I have bought several RVs in my lifetime and have dealt with a lot of RV dealers. This, without a doubt, is the worst experience I have ever had with an RV dealer, both sales and service. Salesman lied to be about my credit score, was totally unfamiliar with the Class B motorhome I bought. Took it back in yesterday to have items fixed that we broken when I bought the rig three weeks ago. They said the items were not covered under warranty and I had to pay. Oh Hell No...those items were broken when I bought the rig. They went unnoticed during walk-thru. Could go on and on but I won't. After strenuously arguing that I wasn't going to pay, they finally agreed they would. I will NEVER go back to a this dealership. I bought a travel trailer from La Mesa in Davis, CA several years ago, which was a totally enjoyable experience, but this has put a bad taste in my mouth for the whole company. read more

Our experience with La Mesa Rv of Tucson was a pretty bad experience. It was downright miserable. We were told that a Travel Trailer we wanted was on order on January 3rd and that we could make changes because it was not yet in production. We finalized what we wanted and gave them a 5,000 dollar deposit which was to be fully refundable for any reason if we chose not to go forward. Over the next 4 months we were repeatedly told and reassured that the that everything fine. They told us in the beginning that the trailer would be there in about 6 weeks. every time we inquired we got a different story. We were repeatedly lied to and mislead. It was worse than dealing with a used car salesman. After nearly 4 months we had had enough and asked for our deposit back. They refused to return our deposit and started giving us all the reasons they could not refund our money. We really had no legally binding contract and the trailer was not a special order. After literally yelling and screaming with everyone from the salesmen (plural) and the manager they threated to call the police and have us removed. We told them we would see them in court and left. About an hour later we received a call stating that they were refunding our deposit. i believe the idea all along was to try and bullying us in to continuing with a transaction that was very dishonest and unprofessional on the part of La Mesa Rv. I would not recommend this dealership for anything. One of the most disgusting dishonest experiences of my life and I have a lot of experience in buying and selling cars, motorhomes etc. STAY AWAY FROM HERE!!! read more

We took our 2019 24' Coachman Leprechaun Chevy 4500 to LaMesa RV Tucson for an alignment. We had a 9:30 AM appointment! At 12:15 PM the mechanic informed us that he had still not taken the initial readings although the vehicle had been on the rack since 10:00 AM!!! He had been assigned other "projects". I asked the mechanic if the alignment was complicated on this vehicle. He said no as it is very similar to a car. At 1:00 pm we expressed our delay concerns to the Service Manager. At 3:15 PM the service representative informed us that the alignment was complete EXCEPT for one little problem.... The steering wheel was not level when the vehicle was pointed straight down the road. (That also affects the "stable-track" light on the dash.) He asked us to go to a local alignment shop to get the problem resolved (the shop foreman had called ahead and set up the appointment))!!! When we arrived at the alignment shop, the manager there said that he could not work on our RV - the vehicle could not get through his shop door!!! We were given the name of "another" alignment shop to call. That alignment was to be the following morning. In summary, our 9:30 am appointment with LaMesa RV Tucson for a front wheel alignment was a disaster. Had the shop begun the work at the scheduled time we should have known by late morning that they could not provide a proper alignment. In addition to needing to spend another night in Tucson, we had to cancel and rebook RV parks in Las Cruces, NM and Fort Stockton, TX. Our discussions with the Service Manager left us with a bad feeling about this dealership. He was curt and at NO time apologetic. It was almost as if he was upset with us for disrupting their work schedule!!!! The shop foreman was, however sincerely sorry for the outcome. Sales were, as usual, very friendly and customer driven. We wish Service had the same goal. If appointments mean nothing other than filling the work bays, then do not make them. Let customers know it is first come first serve! Bill read more

Don't buy an RV here... the service department is evasive and do not really care after you've driven off with your new RV. Had a wheel crack on my brand new trailer. The service department states its covered, but have been trying to get someone to help me on the situation for weeks. Every time I call, the point person is not in. Then they transfer to another person who never answers and never returns my calls after I have left several messages. read more

Service department is horrible. Repairs take weeks (3 weeks plus). The service manager hardly communicates at all; the customer has to keep calling to figure out what is going on with their RV. We gave them several tries thinking the horrible service was just an anomaly but it is not. We will never go there again. read more

Do not buy at La Mesa RV!!! La Mesa is really nice when you trying to buy an RV, but after that dealing with them is a disaster. Their Customer Service is the worse!! Every time I call I get someone rude or I get hung up on. The service dept hours are not convenient and trying to contact someone is a joke. The prices are great but not worth the headaches of dealing with them after. If I could do it all over again, I would have bought from another dealership!! We were also lied to by the finance dept. We were told our extra insurance would protect much more than it actually covered. We were never given a written brochure for the RV or insurance. We had problems with the RV right out the door and it took the service dept a little over a month to fix it. Our RV was on the lot, open. People could walk in if the chose. La Mesa has serviced my 05 bounder for 6 years. Xavier in service is excellent. Having a one stop shop is great. Due to their excellent service I just traded bounder for 2014 south wind. Chris in sales sold me the rv much to his surprise as they thought I would drive the bounder forever. Chris is the best. I recommended him to a friend and relative both purchased motor homes from la Mesa. Rvs require service and things do fail thus I understand the complaints. But this is a very good dealership to to business with. read more
