La Mesa has serviced my 05 bounder for 6 years. Xavier in service is excellent. Having a one stop shop is great. Due to their excellent service I just traded bounder for 2014 south wind. Chris in sales sold me the rv much to his surprise as they thought I would drive the bounder forever. Chris is the best. I recommended him to a friend and relative both purchased motor homes from la Mesa. Rvs require service and things do fail thus I understand the complaints. But this is a very good dealership to to business with. read more

Service department is a joke. Bought our RV from the Tucson store. Took the RV in for minor repairs, after 3 weeks had to call for a update. A couple items were down but still had to work on the other issues. Needed the RV for an emergency trip. Returned the RV a week later. 5 weeks later had to call for a update, service writer said he would call back in a couple of days. After 4 days passed called and talked to service manager. Finally got our RV back, but still waiting for a one part to come in. read more

LIARS . . DO NOT RETURN PHONE CALLS . . . LIE ABOUT ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING . . . . GIVE THEM NEGITIVE STARS. This place is THE WORST dealership EVER. We were lied to repeatedly, the motorhome we purchased was not cleaned, we received no walk through, the salesman disappeared as soon as we signed the paperwork. We were on our way home across country when it broke down. We were stuck in Tulsa for a week while it was repaired, they did cover this expense BUT . . . items crossed off on their "Certified Pre-owned RV Inspection" were not in working order as indicated. They talked us into an expensive extended warranty to only find out it isn't worth the paper it is written on. We took it back to them this summer to fix the in motion satellite. They had it a week and DID NOTHING knowing we had to leave. Today we found out from the warranty company NOTHING is covered if it is updated. The satellite system was updated FEB 2014 so it WAS NOT covered and NOT WORKING when we purchased the warranty and LA Mesa's inspection indicates it was working. We purchased the motorhome from them Sept 2014. If you are interested in specific details, contact me, I will be glad to tell you just exactly how we have been treated. I seriously do not know how they are still in business. RUN, DO NOT WALK . . RUN AS IF YOUR LIFE DEPENDS ON IT. read more

What a bunch of pushy sales jerks. Don't give them your license, it's how they hold you hostage. It was good up until the sales guy asked what kind of deal I was looking for. I told him and he got upset and acted like I slapped his mom. Then after asking for my license back a couple times I had to physically track them down to get it back. What a bunch of jerk offs. First time there and the last. FU La Mesa. read more

My experience with LaMesa service department was very good. Carlo, my service representative, took the time to explain the situation with my motorhome sewer hookup and didn't try to upsell me something I didn't need. I just needed to get the access ring replaced due to a tire blowout damage and needed to get a slide motor replaced and steps fixed. The slide motor had to be ordered but all the work was completed in a week. Also had oil change and coolant flush done. Carlo was very courteous and knowledgeable and I'm very pleased with the work done, and I'd come back again for service on my motorhome if Carlo is available! read more

We had an excellent experience in trading our RV for another unit at La Mesa. Jerry Edwards was an amazing salesperson who went above and beyond for service to his customers. La Mesa spent 3 hours doing small repairs without charge to us thanks to Darlene. I would highly recommend La Mesa and their staff. read more

Before you purchase anything from La Mesa RV in Tucson, read the reviews first. We recently purchased a new 2018 Fleetwood Discovery from La Mesa RV in Tucson. They treat you well and are your best friends until you make your purchase, then anything they promised isn't worth crapola, if they promise you ANYTHING get in on paper. Otherwise it's just words in the wind. If we had to do this over again we never would have made the trip from Phoenix to Tucson to purchase our motor home. When we did the test drive, the brakes squeaked every time you even touched the brake pedal. Our salesman said no worries folks we will take care of this before you take delivery, never happened, and now they refuse to do anything at all for this problem. Tucson refuses to address this issue, DENIED! As we were driving home with our new unit our drivers side mirror was so loose it was doing 360's down Interstate 10! A window was shattered in our back bathroom. Our bedspread was so dirty that we refused to even use it on our first trip, and La Mesa Tucson refused to clean it. We ended up calling the corporate office in San Diego/Jake, and he was very kind to us, he replaced the window, and covered the cost of the bedspread to be dry cleaned. Also keep me in mind on the walkthrough with them, look for any damages of any kind, and have them repair it prior to leaving the lot. Check EVERYTHING no matter how small, windows, bedspreads, blind, exterior paint, EVERYTHING! Like to commend Bill in Mesa service Dept, and Jake at corporate office, they are good folks. Went in to the Tucson La Mesa RV Center for the first time since purchasing a Winnebago travel trailer from this place in the Spring. Had a propane gas leak. The schedule person set me up for the next morning. I arrived on time and the service advisor was standing outside as I pulled in. He enthusiastically led me into his little office and wrote up my issue. The customer waiting room is small and cluttered but the coffee was fresh. Everyone there I encountered was very courteous and friendly and the vibe was very positive. My service advisor, Dan, was quite polite without appearing forced. A good guy who answered my questions directly and without any BS. The whole visit took little over an hour. I have no reservations about returning next time. read more

I have to say 1 star is more than I would like to give! We purchased a brand new 2017 Fleetwood storm in Albuquerque at the La Mesa and had some issues there that started it all off. We purchased in Sept of 2017 and had our first service appt in Tucson in Sept right after we purchased. We have had to take it back to La Mesa I can't tell you how many times since then for many repairs and often times for the same issue that they say they fix and it's not fixed or they say they cannot duplicate the problem. Every time we go on vacation these issues keep coming up and have to take it back to them as soon as we get back, which mind you is a huge inconvenience to keep taking off work to do this. We have had issues with the generator which has led to us not having any ac while driving from Yuma AZ at 110 degrees to Tucson with children and animals. And this wasn't the first time! We have also had several issues with the tank less water heater several times. It is not unusual for us to not have any hot water while we are camping. There was also a water leak in the back bathroom, 2 jacks had to be replaced and the list goes on and on. Our service advisor Kristen has been great but the service guys are horrible and I mean horrible. I just want things fixed is that so hard to ask!! The sales mgr actually had the nerve to ask us if we wanted to trade it in! Really I just bought it brand new 8 months ago. Then another gentleman had the nerve to tell us " Well we don't make them ". Wow I bet Fleetwood would like to hear that response. So my suggestion is do not ever buy from any La Mesa EVER!!!!!! I think my next step is to contact an attorney to see what my options are because they can't seem to do what they are suppose to do!! read more

I had some motorhome warranty issues pop-up while in Texas so I called La Mesa RV in Tucson and was able to set-up an appointment. Freddie (service advisor) was absolutely great from start to finish. Not only will I use La Mesa again to do my service, I will also get another motorhome from them when the time is right. read more

Do NOT do business with La Mesa RV. We purchased a used RV from them. They kept it for a week before they released it to us " to completely service" the unit. My husband found a fuel tank float and sending unit in the RV after we brought it home. They are refusing to put this in the RV( so we are unable to know what our fuel level is) as it was purchased "as is and my husband inspected it." So my husband was to be able to ascertain that the float/sending unit was non functional ????and they had the unit for a week and no one found the replacement unit in the RV. So if they did not notice it during "their inspection" what else did not see or repair????/ Their dishonesty is absolutely unbelievable!!!! Again Do NOT DO Business with them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! read more

Don't buy your RV from here! LaMesa is only interested in your money and not your satisfaction of your purchase. I bought a 2018 5th wheel Toyhauler that I have had problems with on every trip. Poor quality from the manufacturer and even worse problems from the dealer, LaMesa in Tucson. I have to say that Kristin and Darlene have been very pleasant to deal with but the service manager, sales department, and the dealership has tied their hands for what they can do. It wouldn't bother me so much but Tucson LaMesa knew that the battery they had in the Toyhauler would not support camping without hook-ups but let me go knowing that would be my primary use for it. After a couple of times with power issues they are still not willing to make it right. I have purchased a 2nd battery after the 1st issue and still have issues. LaMesa is happy to work on my Toyhauler and collect warranty money but not willing to make a good fix such as a better battery set up or putting in a switch so the battery doesn't have a constant drain on it. The last trip I was on with power issues a friend had his Fusion purchased from Freedom RV in Tucson and he didn't have issues. Freedom put a group 31 AGM battery that they placed in the Toyhauler before it left their lot. Service is a big part of an RV and Freedom will get my business next time instead of LaMesa. read more

You do NOT want to purchase your RV at this place. The only reason they are getting one star is because you can't put zero stars. The sales people were very courteous and helpful. The finance people were just awful to deal with. They kept pressuring us to by all kinds of insurance. They actually charge you $1000.00 to detail and inspect your RV to make sure its "just perfect for you." OMG, REALLY??? Where I'm from when you have something detailed, its cleaned. There were bugs and metal shavings under the bunks. There was obvious water damage, 2 leaks and an electrical problem when we got it home. So, we made an appointment to take it back for warranty work for December 26th at 8:00am. We were there right on time. It was January 10th before it was even looked at??? What kind of company, in good faith, makes an appointment to service your vehicle and then doesn't even get it in to the garage of service until two weeks later??? This is ridiculous. Oh we were finally able to pick it up on January 16th. But only part of the warranty work was done. According to their service rep who spoke to my husband, they weren't able to find or duplicate the plumbing leak. But I was told that it had been repaired. yep. So parts are on order and they will call us when they are in. You do not want to spend your money here. Please research where you are going to buy your RV. If I had done mine, I would have walked out of that dealership and gone elsewhere. The 2nd part of the warranty work was completed very timely. However, I still would tell anyone looking to buy elsewhere and make sure you research their reviews. read more

We gave up on this service department as well as the sales dealership several years ago. Over time one hopes things might change and improve. A coach we bought elsewhere and have serviced elsewhere developed a problem which was a Spartan chassis recall item. Since La Mesa RV is an authorized Spartan repair facility, our coach had to go to La Mesa. It was there for six days before we were notified they did not have the equipment to do the repair and it would have to go elsewhere. Six days! How encouraging to know some things never change. read more

I purchased a new Thor Synergy from Tucson LaMesa November 2016. On delivery there had been no detailing inside, and only minor detailing outside in an area I had pointed out before purchase. I had a walk-around orientation which I find out through use of vehicle was both lacking in important details and wrong on important details. There are too many detaild to go into on a review. The sales department refused to remedy problems that were there on delivery. They indicated that it was now the seri department problem. The service department did not correct the problems after having the unit twice for a total of 3 weeks. I WILL NEVER DEAL WITH THEM AGAIN. I have waited about a year to write the review in case I found that I felt differently with time. I do not. read more

We recently purchased a used 2017 Grand Design Solitude 300 5th Wheel from La Mesa RV. At the time of purchase, it had only been used for a few months and we felt we were charged a very fair price. We were, however, disappointed in the sales manager's poor communication skills and his inability to relate to customers. In fact, to be honest, we found him to be quite rude. Although we were willing to overlook that, it was only the beginning. We were assured the 5th wheel would be sent through the service department and thoroughly inspected to make sure everything on this used 5th wheel was in proper working condition, before we took possession. The service department seemed to be competent and walked us through, answering some of my questions regarding the air conditioners and what I felt was their inability to cool properly. We were told that is just the way they are and they are cooling as they should. Being a first time 5th wheel owner I accepted that, hitched up and as we were leaving the lot I noticed the brakes were very weak. I then called La Mesa RV and was told the 5th wheel brakes had checked out fine so it must be my truck brakes. I subsequently had the brakes on my truck inspected and all the electrical components on the truck brakes were in excellent working order. Trusting all to be fine, we took a short camping trip and found the brakes to be inadequate. La Mesa RV then assured me that the truck is supposed to do all the braking and the brakes on the 5th wheel do not assist until 35 mph or more. I was still very uncomfortable with the braking and returned with the 5th wheel to La Mesa RV. They tested the brakes by driving very slowly around their lot and insisted the brakes were working fine. They again reiterated that the 5th wheel brakes only assist at speeds of 35 mph or greater. I continued to worry as we enjoy RVing in the mountains at 8500 feet and I was very skeptical about coming down the mountain pulling this 5th wheel. Again, we were reassured all was fine with the brakes. I then took the RV on a short trip on level terrain, and the brakes seemed to work somewhat, although I had to brake extremely hard with the truck. On that trip, I found the air conditioners to be working inadequately so I called to make an appointment at La Mesa RV, before going on a much longer trip. I was told they could not see me for 3-4 weeks as they were completely booked. At that point, I had no choice but to go across the street to another dealer, Lazy Days RV, where we have previously purchased RVs. They have always been competent and courteous to us in the past. Lazy Days saw me immediately for the air conditioning problem; and, I also mentioned the braking issue. They understood immediately and said the brakes were not functioning properly. The grease seals on the wheels were leaking into the drum brakes. We could have been in serious danger and possibly killed, had we not had this problem repaired before taking the 5th wheel on our trip to the mountains in about 4 weeks. I contacted Grand Design and had them speak to Lazy Days. The air conditioners had loose wiring connections and one malfunctioning thermostat. The air conditioners, thermostats and brakes were all covered under warranty. Lazy Days graciously repaired it all and I am very happy with their attentive service. I will never recommend La Mesa to anyone interested in purchasing an RV, nor will I recommend their service. You should never have allowed a new customer to leave the lot with faulty brakes nor turned them away a second time. Your incompetence could have caused a fatal accident due to your inability to diagnose and service this 5th wheel properly. This could have been an issue of criminal negligence had a fatal accident occurred! read more

I would caution anyone who is looking to purchase an RV from this business! IF you choose to do business with this company be aware that when it's time to pick up your coach La Mesa RV offers the customer a pre check out listing of all the items within the coach as being operational. DO NOT ACCEPT their paperwork as work completed. It is a joke! In our case we accepted their word as those items in working condition and took possession of our rv. On the first use of the rv, the main windshield leaked, the bedroom had water leaking inside, the washer did not work and the furnace was starting by itself! We called and complained about all these things and were told by the service department that everything would be corrected. Wrong! It seems the warranty does not cover quite a few items and the BUYER SHOULD OF CLIMBED ON TOP to inspect the unit prior to accepting the delivery!! The service department has tried to do as much as possible but the dealership has pretty lame customer service! read more

There is a problem here with their service, even for people who bought their RV's at La Mesa. The service advisers do not seem to last long, and some do not know what they are talking about. Some of the people are gruff, and the office staff is often unfriendly as well as unhelpful. The latest has me calling to find out if my vehicle is ready, as promised, only to be told that they will call me back three hours later when they might get a chance. So much for planning my day. All this may all be a problem of lack of personnel, but it's all exceptionally user-unfriendly. And then there are the repairs that are not made.... read more

Just had our first service experience with La Mesa RV in Tucson and we were extremely pleased with the results. Carlo, the service advisor we were assigned, listened to what the problem was that we were experiencing with our generator and got the mechanic on it right away while we waited. The problem was quickly diagnosed and repair could be done right away. Carlo also let us know that the generator actually needed routine maintenance as filters, etc.. were all in bad shape (Bought the RV used so getting maintenance done was good idea). Carlo let us know that his team could get the generator maintenance done in a few hours so off to lunch we went. About an hour later we got a call from Carlo that while servicing the generator they found that the primer pump was not working. They were going to have to order the part and he wondered if it would be ok for is to leave the RV at the shop. He told us he would try to get the replacement part in as soon as possible and would get back with us when RV is ready to be picked up. We had no problems leaving RV with Carlo and just expected that were likely not going to get the RV back for several days, or maybe longer (Our experience at La Mesa RV in Mesa typically resulted in us having to leave the RV for weeks, and often a lot longer, in order for them to get parts and then once they have the parts get a mechanic assigned to do the work since our RV was no longer in the queue.) To our pleasant surprise Carlo got the part in the next day, got the RV fixed and called us by mid-afternoon letting us know we can come by La Mesa RV in Tucson and pick up the RV. Wow! That was quick work! Carlo even worked with our extended warranty company so by the time we got to La Mesa RV the repair work was covered by the warranty and we only had to pay for the maintenance portion which, as expected, is not a warranty issue. Carlo was friendly, listens well, provided feedback and answered any questions we had. He, and the mechanics, got the job done quickly and effectively. The generator purrs like a kitten! Never has it started up and sounded this good! We will certainly be going back to see Carlo again the next time we have any issues with our RV and when it's time for maintenance on the RV motor. Thanks Carlo for taking such good care of us and our RV. read more

Dishonest. Deceitful. Disdainful. These are the words that come to mind when I think of the La Mesa RV dealership in Tucson. I am updating the review I posted last August 7, 2015. (Please do read the original review). I previously wrote how a couple months after the purchase of a fifth wheel trailer, concerns turned up about the inaccuracy of information they provided to us regarding the hitch weight of the fifth wheel we purchased. It turned out the fifth wheel was far heavier than they verbally told us and it overloaded our half-ton pickup truck. When confronted with this information, we were met with glares and the attitude of "we did nothing wrong" and "it's your responsibility to verify information" the dealership gives its customers. My complaint even went up to the corporate office and they rebuffed any reasonable settlement offer. It was CYA all the way! Sloppy. Unprofessional. Will Screw With You. These are more descriptors that come to mind since I wrote the original review. It took FOUR MONTHS to receive the extended warranty refund from La Mesa that should have taken six weeks. After we traded off the fifth wheel at a competing dealership for a true half-ton towable fifth wheel that was appropriate for our F150, we cancelled the extended warranty purchased through La Mesa. We were told it would take 6 to 8 weeks to receive the refund. Well, eight weeks passed and we received no check. I then contacted the district office in San Diego that handles warranty refunds. They claimed, "we never received the refund request", even though we had a copy of the emailed request from the Tucson dealership to the district office that proved they did indeed receive the original refund forms. Saying they would now process the request, we would again have to wait 6 to 8 weeks. Guess what? After eight weeks passed, we still did not receive a refund. This time I called the warranty company directly and they told me they delivered the funds to La Mesa TWO WEEKS earlier. Armed with this information, I again contacted district office who actually had the gall to say, "We mailed the check to you two weeks ago." Yeah, right! It took another two weeks to receive a real refund check in the mail. My final words, do NOT deal with this company. They are dishonest and will screw with you when things don't go the way this company wants, no matter how polite and professional you treat them. There are many other RV dealerships to buy from who are far more ethical and actually care about their customers. read more

This has been the worst buying experience for us EVER! We were lied to buy the finance department twice during the purchase causing us to get up and walk out! We should have NEVER gone back. We have been waiting for one month now for the spare tire that was supposed to be on the trailer when we picked up the trailer to be installed. None of the managers have called us and now I have problems with the service department returning calls. Corporate emails are down to one sentence and clearly show a lack of any concern. The best part was when we showed up to pick up the trailer all of a sudden we had all kinds of "extras" that we needed that, of course, we would need to pay for! Needless to say that did not happen. Our salesman, Andy hid in his office. Lee and the other finance manager or whatever they call themselves were conveniently with other people when we asked to see them and as I stated before have never called us. I overheard one of their salesmen make a smart ass comment about I would have to get in line with the other unhappy people! Javier Castro admitted that we have been completely mishandled but has offered no resolution to the issues! Our microwave needs to be replaced and instead of ordering one from the manufacturer, we were told they would probably go to Home Depot to see if they could get another that might fit. Brilliant. This place is a joke and NOT what we thought it would be. I will be contacting an attorney. read more

One star is too much. Bought a hauler from a rv show we had a agreed upon price and down payment. We gave them money down. How little did we know our Valentine's Day was a complete waste. 6 days later they raised the price and wanted 6k more down. A day later they tried another hauler on us. Still more money and more down. Finally we agreed to buy a used hauler from the Yuma store. I agreed to buy it and the terms were agreed upon. The unit was taken off the internet so I couldn't show my family. The emotional roller coaster was coming to an end. Nope. Two days late they called to tell me the unit had sold out from under us. Several un returned calls later and they tried to force a POS with mismatched wheels. I gave them one more shot after they begged to find us something. On day 14 I had it. They refused to return my calls so my wife and I drove all the across town to get our money back. Some guy in the parking lot thought it was funny we bought two haulers! I plan on doing much more. This review should be negative 5 stars. Worst buying experience in my life. read more
