Unclean, the food was terrible. They need more on the menu than chicken and birilla. Charge for chips... Really

I had very low expectations coming in and was surprised by the flavor and quality of the food here. I orders a Paloma which was refreshing and made me miss summer. I also had a sope that was the perfect thickness and wasn't overwhelmed by toppings. The salsa tasted like a less spicy version of my grandma's recipe, still delicious and flavorful. The service was a bit slow just due to an event going on, and it is a bit pricy for Mexican food, but otherwise I highly recommend

It took more than 10 mins for the host to acknowledge us as she was trying to set tables, attend to other guests and answer the phone. We started with the Guacamole appetizer. I've always liked it and the recipe is the same but the portion was much smaller with a price point that seemed high. I ordered the tacos with chicken and they were okay. The person I was dining with had the Burro Rafael. It was a much larger portion and they enjoyed the taste profile. The restaurant featured original artwork for sale which was a nice touch. Overall I felt the space needs some TLC. The restrooms were not well kept and upon leaving the parking lot there was a lot of garbage overflowing into bins and the surrounding area which isn't what you want to see as a patron. Overall we decided we weren't as happy with the experience as we were in the past and may not return.

First off, the food at Chuy's is incredible. If you haven't been - get down there and try it…read more But this review is more about the service. On Wednesday, April 22 I was in Henrietta for an appt and decided to place an order at Chuy's to pick up on my way home. I paid and received my email confirmation. My mouth was already watering... I arrived to the restaurant early, hoping it would be ready. They were closed. A sign hung on their door stating they were "Closed Wednesdays and Sundays until further notice". Nothing on their site indicated this and my order went through with no issue. I was a bit upset. Not only for the inconvenience but also because I was hungry and wanted my burrito! So the next day, I had to be back in Henrietta anyway so I stopped in and asked about the order. They immediately apologized profusely - apparently there was a glitch that allowed several orders to go through. They assured me that I would be refunded. I asked if it would be possible to just give me my order instead of a refund (I was still dreaming of that burrito). They said of course and even offered me a free drink which was not expected (I was happy to pay but they insisted). The burrito came out in less than five minutes and they said they would still refund me - even though I assured them it was not necessary. I wasn't even mad when I came in; I didn't make any scene or demands. I just wanted to ask about my order assuming it was an accident, and give them a chance to see what they could do. They went above and beyond anything I would have expected. They more than made up for any minor inconvenience it caused. Even if they didn't refund me, I would have still felt the same way in how I was treated. So yes, the food is incredible, but it is matched with a masterclass in customer service which feels increasingly rare these days. I'd post a pic of my burrito but I've been chowing down on it while trying this review and, well, it's gone...

I was craving the shrimp tacos; however, since they only came with flour tortillas and I preferred corn, I decided on the Mexican bowl with shrimp instead. I also ordered a pineapple Jarritos. The wait was short, and when my order was ready, it arrived hot and fresh. My only gripe was that I wished there was more shrimp in the bowl, but overall, I liked it.

We got 3 chicken tacos, 2 Jarritos, 2 beef tacos, and the California burrito! Everything was delicious and perfectly seasoned/cooked. I was told they only do outdoors, with the truck. I need indoors for nursing home residents and staff (like trays of stuff for a buffet line or something). So unfortunately the truck doesn't really accommodate my needs. That's okay. Nobody can be everything to everybody, I get it. But I also ordered dinner, to go. I have a deep love for Mexican cuisine (more so authentic fast food and home cookin) that goes back as far as I can remember and I was eagerly anticipating THIS dinner. Now, I used to basically live on the California/Mexico border and ate in Mexico, in border towns and non-border towns. I've also cruised deep into Mexico. One of my mother's husbands was Mexican and so was one of mine. I've spent time in Mexican bush camps in southern Texas over a campfire cooking texmex with ranch hands, but I'm no foodie. I just have a little exposure and experience in this genre. So that really compels me to say that my dinner was less than impressive. Service was good for sure. The carnitas chimichanga I ordered was pure meat. On the side was some sour cream, guacamole (not enough of either) and plenty of shredded lettace underneath the condiments. The chips were good, but could've been warmer with more salt and salsa. I have to say that the food at this restaurant, while 'stylized' as Mexican, isn't really what you'd expect as Mexican (only marginally adjacent, I'm afraid). I truly didn't expect it to be authentic this far away from Mexico, but it really missed the mark. I saw tortillas, I saw stylized proteins and even salsa. I just didn't FEEEELLLL Mexico when I ate the food. The carnitas tasted like boiled shredded pork, I'm sorry to say. No spice, no heart, nothing Mexico about it.
