Taqueria Los Amigos is located in the main historic downtown area of Geneva right around the corner from the Finger Lakes Welcome Center. Prices are fairly reasonable and they have a lunch menu which allows for a budget friendly, smaller portioned mid-day meal. Interiors are festive and ambiance was nice, but they haven't done a great job with upkeep as paint on the walls was chipped away in places and some of the dishes had minor chips around the edges. Meals start off with complimentary chips and salsa, which hit the spot for something to munch on as we were hungry driving up the length of Seneca Lake from Watkins Glen. To start off, we ordered the nachos with cheese (3.5/5) which had a great blend of cheese without that overly strong cheesy flavor. For meals, we got the vegetarian plate, a chicken chimichanga, and a side chicken quesadilla. Portion sizes of each of these were huge and perfect for sharing. The vegetarian plate (4/5) consisted of an enchilada, a tostada with salad, and rice. The chicken chimichanga (4.5/5) came with 2 mini chimichangas, a side salad, rice, and beans. The chicken quesadilla (4/5) was a generous portion of shredded chicken in a really delicious tasting corn tortilla which was very flavorful. Overall, everything was well above average in taste and did a great job in filling us up for a late lunch. Service (3.5/5) was warm and friendly for the most part, but it did take a while for the waitress to come over to take our order for meals after initially getting our drinks and appetizers. While it wasn't a big deal to us, we were overcharged by a dollar on the chicken quesadilla over what was listed on the menu price (it was such a generous portion and worth the price, so we didn't mention anything). One of the better places we ate in the finger lakes. There is outdoor seating and dog friendly which is always a plus. Service/ food came out quickly. Complimentary chips and salsa which tasted homemade. I got the beef quesadilla and my husband got the beef enchiladas. The quesadilla was crisp, I will say the portion was not too large. The plate is filled with rice and extras than the main star, I rarely finish an entree but I did here. I thought my husbands enchilada and the flavor of the meat was better than in the quesadilla. Ask for the hot salsa. That alone makes this a 5! (If you like spicy that is)... Once I saw the Hawaiian fajitas, I knew I had to have it... Half of a pineapple carved out and used as a bowl for shrimp, chicken, fish, beef, and veggies. It was better than the picture, and that's not always true. Regular beef fajitas were great too. This is a first blush review after my first visit. Went here with my partner last week (Feb of 2025). The interior is very open, which is nice. The recorded music was too loud for normal conversation so we felt like we were yelling at one another for an hour from noon to one o'clock. Complimentary chips and salsa were nice. I could see they have a full bar, but at lunch we just had ice tea. Perhaps tequila would have helped. The menu looks extensive with lots of options...but it is really the same few ingredients re-shuffled over and over again. We ordered the Chimichanga and the Fajitas lunches. Both arrived quickly with a friendly and efficient wait staff. No muss, no fuss. Sadly the flavors were all bland. All the same. I could tell no difference between my rice, my beans, or my chicken chimichanga (I ordered the beef...but they got it wrong.) Its as if each element was under seasoned from the beginning. You can counteract that by adding some roasted red pepper to the yellow rice. And you can really elevate a dish with some cilantro in the re-fried beans. Heck, some simple garlic and onion to either would have helped. The chicken in the chimichanga and the beef in the fajitas could have used some cilantro or onion or garlic or just salt or adobo or even some MSG. As it was, my shredded chicken reminded me of my middle school years in the 1970s. (Remember those chicken sandwiches with shredded, stewed chicken on a bun?). The sauce on the chimichanga was bland and some odd mix of a cream and tomato combination. The salad with my chimichanga could have used anything...but the iceberg lettuce, hard tomato end, and sour cream worked together to create a cold, bland side. I mixed this into both the rice and the beans trying to get something....but in the end it was just an example of the 'bland leading the bland leading the bland'. I will say that the lunch price and portion were perfect! Not the over-built plates you get by paying $20 for a lunch and ending up taking half of it home with you. Each lunch was $9. Each portion was enough to get you through to dinner. That was refreshing, but if you want to have a better experience be sure to keep a bottle of Marie Sharps Fiery Hot in your pocket. I have to say that the flavors at Taco Bell are sharper, more distinct, and cleaner. They won't use cilantro for some reason, but the rest of their preparations are just better at roughly the same price. Something to consider. read more

Looking for something a little different I decided to check out Taqueria Los Amigo a family run business. Looking over the menu I had a hard time deciding with all the options. The food was good and I would definitely go back to check the other options. A picture is worth a 1000 words here. I could definitely see bringing a group of people and trying each others dishes family style. There is a small bar in the back and plenty of room for large groups. They also have a small area to sit outside. Service was ok being that when I went was just post COVid I'll reserve my full opinion until I come back again. read more

We came here for taco tuesday which is an insane deal, $1 per taco up to 5 tacos. We got 5 tacos each . They were not great to be honest, and reminded me kind of like a high school nacho day lunch, but what can you say, it was a $1 taco, I cannot complain. That being said, the rest of the menu looked great, the service was awesome & the food came out quick. They also did not have fried ice cream available when we came, but it was on the menu. Absolutely excellent! I grew up in Arizona, and know Mexican food. The chimichanga filling was the best I've ever had- well seasoned. You have a choice of chunky or smooth guacamole- the chunky was so delicious- fresh-tasting ingredients. The menu is extensive, service was wonderful and quick. This is truly the best Mexican food I've had outside of Arizona- and I've tried!! I will drive the 30 mile distance from my house for this food. read more

The most gringo Mexican food you will ever find. The tortilla chips were 5 minutes from being stale, the salsa from a can. I ordered one of the vegetarian plates. The cheese burrito was shredded cheese wrapped in a tortilla- not even melted. No seasonings. The chalupa was canned refried beans slopped on a no-longer crisp fried tortilla with some iceburg lettuce, a slice of tastless tomato, and what looked like avocado from a can, if that is a thing. This was a great lunch! I ordered the chicken tacos on DoorDash and they were ready within minutes. Picked it up and brought down to the lake to eat and I have no complaints about the tacos. The onions and cilantro were enough for me but they include three sauces if you want them.
