La Morenita Market was Los Primos Market 10 years ago. Now it doesn't sell meats nor produce. Notice a sign at left of entrance announcing "Silva Bakery-Portuguese pastries". Odd I thought. In the narrow space inside was 4 rows of groceries of the usual, mostly priced. Refrigerated goods unpriced for beverages. The pastries unlabeled & unpriced, a taqueria with a limited priced menu. A sample station selling Mexican marinades. A widowed section near entrance where financial transactions occurred. Browsed. Bought some items that looked interesting. Self service. Paid at counter. Snacks: Biscoito de Polvilho (3.79) -Brazilian cheese flavored tapioca starch biscuits. Crunchy snap, more salty than cheesy. Sips: Chamomile with honey tea bags 10/1.39 -Brazilian chamomile tea. Useful to aid sleep, lessen anxiety/stress. Mistakenly took it to stay awake. -nice floral. Orange peel & honey very faint. -Portuguese similiar to Spanish, same language family. After paying. Cashier said she didn't what to say but "good bye". I said "Adios". She said "good bye" again. Portuguese word for goodbye is adeus. 4ish stars well stocked shelves. Maybe pricey. Haven't shop in Mex. Markets for awhile. read more

The food here is so good! I got camarones empanizados and it's come with rice, beans, salad, and pickled onions. The sauce provided is chipotle and pairs so wonderful with the shrimp. The service was just as great. We will definitely be coming back more often. read more

I frequently go to this market/restaurant. This store has a lot of different types of products. They sell a lot of products from northern central and southern American countries. This place always has classical Mexican music playing inside the restaurant, when dinning in. This store has a lot to offer besides just the groceries and a place to dine. This place also does catering and makes one of the best street tacos in the Bay Area. Disappointed in this place today, the cashier charged me a random extra $2 for using a credit card. When I asked him in his face I said why didn't you tell me, he lied about it and said debit. They use some outdated credit/debit card machine where they input the amounts manually. I've been here several times before. We stopped into this taqueria planning on just getting chips and salsa but after seeing the chickens roasting on the barbecue out front it was hard not to get a couple tacos a piece. We met Edgar, the owner of the taqueria inside this market, and he was super friendly and even shared a little of their house made horchata with us. It was delicious and I've never been a person who really likes horchata. I would definitely order a glass of it next time I'm in there. They're salsa bar is no longer in place since dining has changed so much recently, but they give you plenty of hot and mild salsas to go and even have habanero infused onions which were outstanding. Edgar and his team were all very friendly, the restaurant was clean, and food came out fast... but still gave me enough time to purchase some delicious beef jerky at the market while I waited. Not the first, but the last time going to this hole in the wall market. Worst customer service that I have ever experienced in a Mexican/ Latino market. Rude employees that prefer to LIE to their customers instead of helping them. If you don't care about that, then be careful and check dates on their products as many of them are expired. Prices are also missing or many times wrong on items as well as overpriced. Again, watch out and be careful, the meat is the opposite from fresh and stale looking AND is also overpriced. The cheese "department" is very limited. The taqueria, I have never tried it and I would not try it either after seen the meat... In summary, don't waste your time going to this mini market unless that you want to feel ripped off and end your day on a negative tone. I Hope this review help fellow customers make better decisions on where to conduct business. Because of the pandemic, these are times of financial hardship. This Market is tucked away behind the gas station on Oak Grove/Monument Blvd. This Market doesn't have too many reviews but I saw one that stood out that said the food was amazing. I decided to give it a go! The Taqueria is located on the left side of the store as you enter The cashier was very friendly and I quickly placed my order. I was able to pick which salsa I wanted and packed those to-go. The food itself was just okay. The rice was crunchy and hard. The ingredients should be fresh no mater what hour your customer comes in to place an order. Other then then that this would be your go to place for fresh meats and other Hispanic items. They do have other basic pantry items, if you feel like dodging the bigger chains you can come here to grab and go. The parking is tough. Its a one way in and you have to make a u turn in the parking lot to get out. Proceed with caution if you are turning back on to Oak Grove Road. I would come back here again and try the tacos perhaps I ordered the wrong dish. I am always open to second chances. read more

I came here to buy a pack of cremosa cookies today on the 4th of July, 2019. First, there was a terrible odor in the store. Second, the ceiling vents were old and dirty. Third, the cashier didn't know the price of the cremosas, so she asked me for it. I said three thirty-nine ($3.39). Then I gave her $4. Fourth, the cashier gave me back only 1 cent and the receipt said $3.99. Fifth, the cashier redid the transaction but gave me back, only 1 quarter, 1 dime, and 1 cent, only 36 cents. I said three thirty-nine again and she FINALLY gave me the missing quarter ($0.61 total). I would give this place negative stars if possible. read more

We decided to try a different taqueria in Concord when our go to place wasn't open. We were very disappointed with the chilaquiles and the huevos rancheros at La Morenita. We liked the decor and were hopeful we'd like the place. However, the chilaquiles were simple, the sauce was unexciting and the side of beans bland. The huevos rancheros were a strange interpretation served on two hard shells and bland. The pico de Gallo and friendly waitress were the only bright spots. Otherwise, the salsa bar selection was poor and only a tiny amount was out. $30 later, we agreed that this was some of the priciest, lamest excuses for Mexican breakfast we've experienced. It's not just the best burrito in town that makes this place great. They also have daily specials-- new and unique items that can't be found in any taquerias on this side of the Bay. The flavors, the creativity, the bold deliciousness. It all adds up to 5 stars. The friendly, helpful service is a nice bonus, along with a whole market of Mexican/Latino goods, from pan dulce to carne preparada, to various spices and sauces, produce, and much more. This place is a gem! The taqueria is adjacent to the market and both are very clean and well organized. The food is delicious and freshly made everyday. We used La Morenita to cater a large party we had and it was a hit. The taco cart was perfectly stocked and the guys were fantastic. They didn't just set up, serve, and leave. Instead, they stayed and made sure every last guest had as much food as they wanted and everyone was happy. Even though it was dark when the food service part was over, the guys left the yard very clean. Our guests were very happy with the food and service as were we. Jose, the owner is friendly, professional, and kind. We will definitely use them again for catering and we will definitely make a special trip to Concord for lunch at the taqueria. read more
