Good selection. Compare shopping is a must but you can find good prices here. The staff seems friendly.

New name same quality. This is one store that you can always find something that you didn't know you need, but you must have once you see it. I love this store, there are so many things that your local grocery store doesn't stock. My favorite is their smoothy mixes. I love both brands. The mango and strawberry are equally good. Visiting for the first time to check it out and there are lots of selection with a variety of meats and vegetables, some selections are quite unique and priced fairly here at US Food Chef. I've passed by this place quite a bit but I always assumed you needed a membership like Restaurant Depot. It wasn't until I watched a Tiktok and this girl said that US Foods Chef's Store is open to the public! I went the very next day! The store is like Costco but more heavily geared towards restaurants and cafes. The sell in bulk but in a lot larger portions than Costco. Their meat freezer was insane! The portions are good for catering businesses, but it's definitely too much if you're a household purchasing. The thing I really enjoyed here was their coffee syrup aisle! It was insane how many options they carry. They have Torani for $5.99 and Monin syrups for $7.99. I grabbed one of the Torani Lavender Syrups and I also bought Chai Concentrate for a little over $6. I was trying to copycat the Iced Lavender Chai Lattes that Nordstrom Cafe sells and this was spot on! I'll for sure come back to repurchase. read more

This store looks like a combination professional chef store, restaurant supply store, and big box store. Industrial-sized cans and packages fill the shelves. A very large cooler section covers the back wall. Most of the kitchen implements were industrial-sized such as those you see being used on tv shows like Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. One interesting implement that tempted us was a mango peeler, but we resisted. We ended up with several smaller, stainless steel rectangular containers that will be useful to hold prep ingredients when making a complicated dish. They can also be used for organizing the pantry. You might see them holding condiments in a restaurant salad bar.This is the kind of store that has stuff in it that you don't know you need it until you see it. If you end up having to prepare food for a really large crowd, this would be your first stop when shopping. read more

Lazy workers. I called this morning and asked if they had rice bran oil in stock. The guy that picked up the phone said, "yea, we got a lot of them." He didn't even check. This place was great! I didn't realize they weren't Smart & Final until I read the cashier's shirt and asked where I was. Lol! He said they get that all the time. Here's the kicker! They have great items to buy for your dinner parties, birthdays, etc. The staff is helpful, but they'll mostly leave you alone so you can continue shopping. My parents found out about this place because of the pandemic. My understanding is that this store is really for restaurants and businesses only, but they changed their policy at least temporarily to let regular citizens come in. One thing that impressed me is how they have a really wide selection. When I don't feel like cooking something fancy, I'll just make a sandwich. Just grab some bread, lettuce, cheese, ham, and salami. I liked the value of the price compared to how much of what I was getting. Also, some of the selections and varieties beat Costco in both availability and pricing, which is a really remarkable feat for those who also shop at Costco. It's definitely a place I'd be okay with shopping at going forward. read more

This place is right off a Main Street with plenty of parking. The good thing here is you don't need a membership. This store has your essentials for a kitchen at rock bottom prices. I like that they have options to buy a lot or a little if you're a smaller family. Everything is very well organized and it's very clean. I still can't get over the prices and they also have a lot of restaurant items. They sell huge spaghetti sauce or small one for a great price. This place is great for large families or if you're throwing a party and cooking the food yourself. Definitely worth checking out. read more

I'm not in the food business, but I consider this place a super Smart and Final store. All their products are geared for the food industry in larger qualities. My favorite item to get there is their Western Golden oranges 10 lb distributed from Santa Fe, CA. Each time I go there and buy a bag for under $8. it's always been sweet and juicy. 5 Stars is not enough on the rating. I would give infinity stars to the US Foods Chef's Store in Oakland Ca 400 Oak Street. I am just starting a new business and went to the Concord Ca store to inquire on some products I needed. The most important product I needed was 20 cases of 3 pound Mixed Greens. I explained to the sales person that I was doing a event at our local Zoo ansd will be handing out 750 samples of my salads to Zoo Guest. All the vendors were donating there time and foods/drinks for the fundraiser. He was not very helpful and told me I would have to come back in a week when the event was and to order online. I oredered online which I had never done before. The day of the event I was getting a .little worried and called and was told they don't have the 20 cases. They didn't bother to call or email me to let me know. It was 5pm and I was to pick up at 7am the following morning. I asked if the OAKLAND store would have the cases available abd the salesperson said that his manager said they could not help and that I needed to call. Extremely unprofessional, I called the Oakland Store and a spoke with Max. MY ANGEL. I explained my situation and he jumped to action for me. He even facedtimed me on our phones and spent 20 minutes figuring everything out. From the Balsamic to the Salads. He put a note in the office and on the time machine for his produce dept Dayon to please hold aside tnhe 20 cases. He even grabbed my other items and had them on a cart when I arrived. Max sent me pictures too to show I was going to be ok and it is handled. When I arrived to the Oakland Store (btw is so nice and clean and well stocked compared to Concord) Max was there waiting. He was to start at 10am and came in early at 8am to make sure everything would run smoothly for me. This is the store to shop for all your supplies and Max is absouletly the most amazing cusromer service I have ever experianced.
