We just moved from Stockton and were looking for a great street tacos place.. this place is our favorite quick stop shop! Friendly folks, great flavors, fantastic salsas and sauces! It's all around a perfect taco shop!

I am a property manager and used this amazing restaurant to cater a resident event for us. The food was amazing and their team was amazing. The residents left happy and full. Thank you, we will use you guys again!

I've been coming here over 8 years. The tacos, burritos and soups are very good. Portions are big and flavorful. The restaurant gets busy so call ahead if you know what you want. If not, prepare to wait. It's worth it. I get the usual SUPER burrito. Look at the size of my burrito. It's the length of the forearm. LOL. It is located near Concord Bart station, by CVS and Big 5.

Los tacos de Pancho is my new favorite taquería when in Concord. They are located in a shopping plaza next door to CVS and within walking distance of Concord Bart station. There is a classics and customs cars meet-up that takes place in the lot on Saturdays after 6:00 p.m. The staff are accommodating and friendly. They get busy during the dinner rush, you can call ahead and place a phone order and pay when you pick up. The atmosphere is laid back and casual. El Boby, sautéed shrimp and tri-tip in a spicy diabla sauce, grilled jalapeños and onions, sour cream, guacamole and pico de gallo. The heat level can be adjusted; I've had it spicy, and the heat is real. Take it from a Mexican. The tri-tip and shrimp are cooked perfect. El Boby is full of flavor, solid heat level, deliciously juicy. Fish taco baja style, breaded shrimp, cabbage, tomatoes and Mexican crema. I requested the shrimp to be cooked a la plancha instead of breaded, and I'm happy with that choice. Pros: * El Boby Burrito #1 * Shrimp and fish tacos * Friendly staff * Aguas frescas * Salsas Cons: * The area can be a bit sketchy at night Ocho cinco dos mil veintitrés

The chicken tamales - they were a little dry, but alright

We were filling a prescription at CVS so we decided to stop here for a quick lunch. The restaurant was clean and the gentleman who took our order was friendly. I ordered the shrimp quesadilla (medium spicy) and my wife ordered two chicken tamales. The chips and salsa were not great. The chips were way too salty and the salsa tasted off - like the ratio of ingredients wasn't quite right. My quesadilla was a disaster on a plate. I couldn't finish it because it was coated in some bizarre marinara-flavored combined with extremely spicy (not medium) elements. It was salty, gooey (in a bad way), and generally not enjoyable at all. Fortunately, my wife ordered two chicken tamales so I had one of them and wasted the rest of my meal. The tamale was decent - not bad, not great, but acceptable. The chicken was a little overcooked but it was edible. If it hadn't been for the cleanliness, friendly service, and the tamale, I would've given this place one star. I don't think I will return here again.

Salsas. You can always ask for more they aren't shy

Orale!!! tried the Chile Verde Burrito...and that's definitely a hitter(buena por la cruda) My Fam introduced me to this spot. I've stopped by a handful of times so far every time I leave I gotta rub my tummy. It's in a shopping area, plenty of parking, next to a chevron, and not to far from downtown concord. The workers are great and definitely will explain to you what is in inside of their famous Bobby Burrito(order that at your own expense) you will be stuffed. The Chile Verde Burrito is what I just ordered yesterday as we ran around for Thanksgiving errands. Had it with refried frijoles and spiy salsa. Caution because the chile verde is liquidy and the frijoles tambein(also) the burrito stays temperature hot the whole time. but man talk about a good amount of chile verde, plenty of pork, and just the right amount of frijoles and arroz. Pair that with a Coke de medio litro and your set!! The Bobby Burrito comes with Tri-tip Asada and Shrimp ala Diabla plus guacamole, peppers, crema, onions asados, pico de gallo, wrapped in a blanket of joy that will take your taste buds on a cruise and leave you wanting more Foo. Can't even explain it. Check Em out Once your In Town. Plus corridos y rolas mexicanas on the surround sound...why not

Omg! I ate a BOBY Gourmet Burrito. Okay I ate half. Lol. Delicious, flavorful, and plentiful! The most tender tri tip I've ever had. The meat was sauteed with grilled onions and jalapenos. It included shrimp in diablo sauce, guacamole, sour cream, pico de gallo and cheese. All meat! No beans and rice. You place your order at the counter and they bring your food to you. Its a small restaurant inside a small strip mall next door to Big Five and CVS. The man and lady working the counter are caring and nice. Loved how personable they were! Will definitely go again!

I more or less stumbled on this place because I rode the bart to meet up with a friend! We ate a bit of a late lunch, I ordered the 4 tacos order apparently it comes with rice and beans! It was wonderful for such a price that meal was out of this world. The Al pastor was cool, the tripa was good, the asada was great and the chorizo was amazing and greasy !!!!!!!! Great service and wonderful music ( if they played my mother's favorite music it must feel like home) and yes it was Joan Sebastian , authentic Mexican music is a good sign that the food will be authentic! Will return again sometime!!!

My quesadilla was bland and oily. The chicken on the taco tasted off as well. There are better Mexican restaurants, I'd pass on this one.

Feb 2 2025 3.5 stars…read more Lately our go to Mexican eats is Cinco De Mayo in Martinez. Christians-smh. It is Sunday and Cinco is closed. The server and service here at Isla was perfect. I pointed out to he waiter that he had a crumb on his chin and he wiped and chuckled like a nice champ. The music is pleasant but a bit louder than needed so I brought out the earplugs. The entire indoor setup is nice. Our food is arriving after what seems like a long wait meaning either the food is being served fresh, hot and tasty, or we are in for a mediocre experience. Our two plates arrived. Chilli relleno and Grilled chicken enchilada. I'm not a fan of the aesthetics of the smallish squair white plates. Reminds me of trying to look upscale. We own plates like these and that didn't work. Wife's enchilada plate was covered with three hot and very tasty chicken filled food bombs plus sides. The chili plate looked a little weak (too much plate showing) but that was the tastiest chilli relleno ever in 40 years of me enjoying these. Served hot with cheese filled up to the ying yang, an extra spiciness I have never had before that I loved and me wishing I had a spoon to scrape up the end of the sauce. Unfortunately the smallish rice and bean servings on both plates were luke warm and tasted so so. . I had similar hotter to those with tv dinners back in the day. The two plates and a coke at $43 has me scratching my chin on whether we will make that drive again. That is unless it is Sunday. Then possibly. .

After giving it some thought, I decided to return and explore what it was about Isla that everyone raved over. This time around, I ordered the fish tacos, and I was hooked! Isla's fish tacos are phenomenal--easily the best in the area and a must-have every single time. I usually go for the tilapia, though I've sampled the red snapper as well. They come out super crispy on the outside yet remain incredibly moist inside, with the salsa and toppings melding together perfectly. I also visited their new location today and was pleasantly surprised by the ample parking and comfortable seating. The space is beautiful, making it even more enjoyable to stop by for those irresistible fish tacos. Here's a quick rundown of my ratings: Fish (all varieties): 8.7/10 Birria: 7/10 (good, but not their standout item) Carne Asada Super Burrito: 5.8/10 When it comes to satisfying my fish taco cravings, Isla remains the only choice.

When I walked in, I was the only customer there, but the chef immediately greeted me with such a warm and welcoming attitude that it instantly made me feel comfortable. He took the time to give me suggestions and made the experience feel personal instead of rushed. I ended up getting the chicken sandwich with fries, and wow... that sandwich was incredible. Every single bite was dripping and oozing with flavor and sauce in the best way possible. The chicken was juicy, perfectly cooked, and packed with flavor. It honestly tasted like one of those meals you keep thinking about afterward because it was THAT good. And the fries? Somehow they reminded me of a perfect mix between McDonald's fries and Wingstop fries. Crispy, flavorful, addictive, and impossible to stop eating. What made the experience even more memorable was the atmosphere. While I was enjoying my meal, there was a gentleman in the back playing bongos/music, and it created such a relaxing and unique vibe. The combination of amazing food, warm hospitality, and live music turned what started as a lonely Valentine's Day into a genuinely comforting and unforgettable night. Definitely a hidden gem, and I'll absolutely be back again.

There's a ton of seating inside, and everything is very spacious. Though, I do have to say it always feels incredibly empty for some reason and there's never anybody actually inside outside of a few tables, but they do have tons of takeout so perhaps that's the tradeoff. However, don't let the lack of eating patrons inside the place put you off. This taqueria offers a good variety of different options as any taqueria would offer, and many of the options have pictures and stuff with it. The service here is, kind of hit or miss. The people in the front usually aren't overly friendly, and will sometimes feel like they're just there until the clock turns work over. Sometimes they're bordering on rude as they just kind of give you an indifferent stare as you're ordering, or will just feel as if they're half listening and not even looking up. The service was a bit better when I dined in, so perhaps maybe it's just the takeout, although it's usually the same person for both. Price wise, it's certainly not going to be cheap. If you want the best bang for your buck around here, El Aguila probably won't be it as there's a plethora of taquerias in this area. Food quality wise, it's pretty good overall. There are some tasty dishes here that will certainly warrant the little bit of extra cost here compared to other places. Things that I have tried here are the burritos and the torta. The burritos here are yummy as they they will have ingredients inside the burrito that is slightly different than your cookie cutter burrito at any other place. It really does help adds layers of flavor to it that other places do not offer. However, the best part of it is indeed the fact they grill the outside of the burrito to get that nice flakiness that wrap, and makes it a oh so rewarding experience. Meat portions was okay, but wish it had more especially for the cost. The torta I got was pretty good, as the ingredients inside were pretty typical so nothing really stood out. The break was toasted well, but I do wish it was a bit softer as it may have been to toasted. Should be toasted outside and soft inside, but this one just felt toasted all over. The meat portion also suffers from the same issue as the burrito as that it's not as generous as it could be. However, the flavors and taste were fine. It's certainly a nice place for those who want a bit of a different style of their Mexican cuisine. They have some flavors here that will be atypical of most of the cookie cutter taquerias around. While they are a bit expensive comparatively, the portions are actually decent (minus the meats). You can certainly be filled with just a single burrito. Worth a visit.
