    Cuban

The people are very nice! The coffee is delicious, I have tried a few things on the menu, the Cuban and tostones, the Cuban was sandwich was big but was bland, the tostones were also bland, will definitely stop in for coffee but not for lunch

This same lady made my coffee two years ago she was there today

This place bar none is the best Cuban coffee and great place to have key lime and a cup of Cuban coffee it's definitely a local place I stop here every year around the same time December always order their coffee it's great and dirt cheap 2 buck gets you a cup unbelievable in California you are taking 5 to 6 dollars a cup not here two bucks great cup of coffee very toasty taste

This place have 2 locations one of them is a more to go and is the one I go all the time. I didn't know about this one which is more like a restaurant until recently when I was looking for breakfast and passed my normal go to location. Is very nice to be able to seat and eat comfortable. Food taste about the same in both places. I still like more the to go but this is more family friendly location.

Cuban food was very authentic, tasty and filling. Loose chickens outside added to the ambiance of eating under a tin roof!!

Cafe con leche. That's all we had and it warrants a 5 star review just based on that.

Our waiter Fabio was great at pointing out the most popular dishes, and helped us choose the right dish for us. It was very kind, and even though he was busy, he always made the time to stop by our table to see if we needed anything. If you're in the marathon area, this place is worth a look. It wasn't the best meal we've ever had, but it was definitely the best food we had during our trip. Our favorites were the conch fritters, which were delicious, and the Angus cheeseburger, which was honestly the best thing we ordered. The mussels were also excellent and full of flavor. The shrimp ceviche was decent, but it could have used a little more seasoning, citrus, or zest. It felt a bit dry and didn't have the bright, fresh flavor I was expecting. The seafood platter was the biggest disappointment, especially considering the price. The mahi was under seasoned, and the texture wasn't enjoyable. The crab cakes had a fishy taste, and while the scallops were just okay, the shrimp was actually very good. The sweet potato side was delicious, but overall the platter didn't feel like a good value for what was served. Overall, despite a few misses, this was still the best dining experience we had in the Keys. The service was good, and there were enough standout dishes that we'd come back. I'd recommend sticking with the conch fritters, mussels, Angus cheeseburger, and shrimp.

It's legitimately one of the oldest continuously operating restaurants in the Florida Keys, which gives it a lot of built-in credibility before you even sit down. Walking up to it, you feel that history. The exterior, the gravel lot, the signage--it's pure roadside Keys. Inside, it leans into that "local bar meets tourist stop" vibe: long wooden bar, TVs, stickers everywhere, taps lined up. Then you open the menu and it pivots in every direction--New England chowder house, BBQ joint, burger shack, seafood spot. It's not clear what it wants to be, and that lack of focus carries straight through to the food. We started with both chowders. The clam chowder looks right at first glance, but the texture tells you everything--thick, almost gluey, clearly roux-heavy. The flavor leans aggressively fatty, closer to margarine than butter, with very little clam presence. No briny backbone, no pepper, no lift. We ended up dumping in black pepper and hot sauce just to make it remotely acceptable--but even then, that heavy fat note kept pushing through. Nothing about it reads as New England. The conch chowder fares a bit better. You can actually see a decent amount of conch, and there's a peppery edge that helps. But the broth is thin and lacks the chunky, stewed tomato depth you expect from a proper Keys-style conch chowder. After having it done right earlier at Key Largo Fisheries, the difference was obvious. Then there are the Texas Twinkies--and the photo really says it all. On paper, this should work: jalapeños wrapped in bacon, stuffed with brisket, pulled pork, cheeses, and sauce. In execution, it's just too much. Too much cream cheese, too many competing sauces, meats chopped into a soft, indistinct filling. It collapses into a heavy, muddy bite that feels more overwhelming than satisfying. Looking back at the menu, the simpler move--burger, ribs, even wings--probably would have been the right call. Instead, we ordered straight into the identity crisis. And that theory held up. We went back and grabbed a burger later--cooked a proper medium rare, with well-done, crispy fries--and it was easily the best thing we had from them. I wanted to like Herbie's. There's history, personality, and clearly a loyal following. But between the confused concept and uneven execution, the move here is simple: stick to the basics.

They have a few ceiling-mounted fans to try to keep the heat at bay. The shrimp poboy and onion rings were superb, and the wife really loved the grilled chicken sandwich and fries. Absolutely no complaints about the food or service. The cocktails left a little to be desired however; very small cups that we found lacking in flavor, but they looked tropical. Otherwise, everything was great and we'd definitely visit again.

We started with the best coconut shrimp I think I've ever had. It's the famous pink shrimp of Florida & the coconut breading was divine ! light, delicate crispy, served with a tasty mango chutney, dipping sauce, just perfection. by the way, this went perfectly with a crisp, white wine and my husband's tropical drink. Next, we had to get an order of the delish oysters Rockefeller, smothered with creamy spinach, and tons of lemon juice. Wow those gulf oysters are wonderful ! So Tender. For our main, we got the Grouper Fish Sammie's with fries & coleslaw. I had mine blackened, and my husband went with classic. The fish was so fresh and seasoned perfectly. Don't miss this gem on your way down the keys.

We sat outside hoping to see the manatees at one point- never saw them. We ordered the lobster enchiladas, shrimp Reuben, and blackened lionfish with coleslaw and potato salad. Lobster enchiladas tasted like nothing- the shell was also oddly dry and unpleasant. I tried to drown it in the sauce, rice and beans, but honestly, almost everything on our table lacked salt and flavor. Can't believe they said Guy Fieri liked this. The bottom of the shrimp Reuben was soggy that it started falling apart. There was like 4 shrimp inside. This one was probably the most flavorful- but I still wasn't impressed. Lastly, I knew lionfish needs a lot of seasoning, and having blackened lionfish helps. But the sides (the coldslaw and the potato salad) were....so so so disappointing. A review said it felt like they were eating cafeteria food- that's exactly what I felt as well. Really appreciate the server for being so attentive and kind- they even brought over another slice of key lime pie (we only ordered one) because it was taking a while- definitely didn't expect it but appreciated the sweet gesture. For the price of it all, I paid similar for a wonderfully delicious seafood meal the other day so quite disappointed it didn't come up to par.
