As Ashley points out, there are some mixed reviews of La Nop on Fleming Island, but it has been consistently good for us. The waitstaff is attentive and always get the order correct, even at the busiest of times (and this location does get busy). I would highly recommend the carnitas, which are cooked to perfection, with enough for at least one lunch of leftovers. I've been coming to this location for years on my lunch breaks with my girlfriends and I absolutely love this place. Always fun atmosphere great food and awesome margaritas. Cinco de mayo was great and my friends and I never get tired of great food at a great price. Will never step onto a La Nop again! Specifically asked for cheese instead of enchilada sauce. Came with the red sauce and was charged for it. When cashier asked about meal I told them about the mistake, the waiter proceeded to argue with me. I think I know the color of red sauce! He checked on us once after our meal, we were finished. He did take off the price for the cheese dip, good thing since he never brought more chips to go with it! I guess I was supposed to scrape off the enchilada sauce and use that cheese! I've been going to La Nopalera for over 15 years and have always ordered the same thing. I order the lunch special #5 which is the guacamole salad and chimichanga. I always order the chimichanga with ground beef. Today was no different. When I received the chimichanga it had shredded beef, not ground. I told the waiter I ordered ground beef and he proceeded to tell me that the shredded was the only way it comes. If I want the ground beef, it was a special order and I would have to wait. I told him I have always ordered it with ground beef and just take it away and charge me for the guacamole salad. He was rude, took it away and brought one with ground beef after everyone else had already finished their meal. This was the worst service ever. I would recommend if you want La Nopalera, think twice. I don't appreciate being lied to or bullied as if I didn't know what I wanted. Grrr, I'm still mad! read more

What's funny is I seen the sign and said to my boyfriend, "Anything that has to advertise it's authentic isn't really authentic." Sure enough the food isn't authentic, nor is it even good for that matter. The ground beef is low quality, high in fat. There's no flavor! The beans came straight from a can (no spice added), and I've made better rice that came from a bag mix than what they serve. Their idea of a chili rejano is a piece of green bell pepper covered in the low quality beef and then covering the evidence with more cheese than meat. The salsa tasted like nothing more than tomato juice. The only thing I enjoyed was the margarita...and I have had much better. Authentic Mexican food? NOT! The tortilla chips were good and fresh. It went downhill from there. The salsa was just ok. Our waiter acted like he couldn't be bothered. I asked for lemon for my tea 3 times before he brought it. My husband ordered beef fajitas. The beef had to have been boiled before being put on the grill. Boiling meat gives it a certain texture and it is not appealing. He said the flavor wasn't too bad. Spring onions were used which wasn't what he was used to. I ordered a small beef taco salad. The beef had no flavor and it was the same consistency as Taco Bell's...mush. Wish we could find a good Mexican place to eat. This is not it! read more

Food was great, but the wait staff & service was very poor. Ordered the "Sizzling Fajitas" I only received 2 flour tortillas with the large Sizzling Fajita meal. When I asked for more flour tortillas, after a very long wait I received only 2 more & was then charged an additional $1 for the extra 2 flour tortillas. La nop's food is always great but this location needs to be bigger. Very long waits on weekends but overall I highly recommend!

My worst experience ever. Called ahead because we had 10. told no wait. got there 10 minutes later and told 30 minutes. that was fine. Over an hour later still not seated and they made no attempt to put any tables together for us. My husband and I left and told them maybe they could get the other 8 seated quicker. Hostess got mad and took their name off the list. I called and spoke to manager Michael, he did not seem to care at all. I wish I could have spoke to the owner. We owned a restaurant for 4 years and never treated our customers this badly. Our party left and went to Tiaquna Flatts and was treated super!! DO NOT KNOW HOW THEY CAN STAY IN BUSINESS. If you can eat in, the food is good and the portions are great. If you order take out, you will not get the same service or portions that you receive inside. Don't bother complaining to the staff up front. I had to bring my food back in twice as things were missing and the portions were lacking. The staff told me that was the way it was. I called to speak to the manager and told him that it had been three times in a row that I have had problems. He offered no apology nor offered anything helpful. When I informed him that it would be a while before I come back, he said ok. Obviously, keeping customers is not a priority. Haven't had this problem at other locations. My husband and I always come here at least 3 times a week for a nice mango margarita and the fajitas Texana's. If we can't get a booth on the floor then we usually sit at the bar. Anyways our bartender was this Spanish girl with tattoos. Very nice, respectful, young woman. She would go out of her way to make sure our service was up to par and it was. So our food comes out and the steak was so hard it tasted and felt like tire, not to mention they added tomatoes when my husband is allergic to them. Thing is, our bartender sees us every weekend and she has never messed up on our order so of course we point out the problem to her and the rude ass hole that set our food down literally says "I don't care you go fix it" and just walks away. So of course our bartender fixes our food and takes care of us. I ask her if I can speak to the manager immediately and she says he's not in at the moment. So he finally shows up and I confront him about the rude food runner and our order coming out wrong but also wanting our bartender to be recognized for her outstanding customer service. And the manager just looks at me and shrugs his shoulders and walks away, WALKS AWAY!!! Can you believe that?! Just completely rude!!! So after 5 years of my husband and I coming here this will surely be our last. Try to care more about your customers and meeting their needs correctly!!!!! read more

Last eveing I was looking forward to a dinner in what had been my favorite location for mexican food. After ordering drinks,never did get my ice tea, we waited 50 minutes for our food to arrive. apparently the waiters and cooks did their jobs during the commercials on the big screen. Soccer was more important than customers.When our food arrived, the waiter knocked over a drink. It ended up in the lap,a big 32 oz glass of water. instead of an apology of any kind the waiter said"my bad". left to get a towel, returned after a couple of plays in the soccer game. By then we had used all the napkins off the table and napkin holder. No offer of compensation for the soaked pants. We took care of that as we left.The portions were not what we have come to expect, beans were watery and tasteless. We were all (4) very disappointed.
