The steak was delicious but every other Mexican restaurant serves rice and this one did not.

The steak was delicious but didn't serve rice. The margarita was good (you can't really mess that up)

I walked in and was greeted immediately. They sat me down and had chips and salsa in a blink of an eye. I asked for queso cheese and before I could turn around it seemed like it was at the table. This is the only knock I have is that it was too runny, but the taste was outstanding. My waitress was named Erica and so on her game and very personable. I was asked many times if I was OK and feel like I was taking care of well as I was by myself at the time when I died. I ordered the quesadilla Reno with chicken, but you do have the option of beef. Once again my food came out. It was good temperature and of a wonderful portion. The taste of the chicken was amazing and the presentation was beautiful. It's a lot of food and for the price you can't beat it. It's been many years since I've been here as I moved away from the area, but some things never change. This place is a staple and there's a reason it has stayed in business so long. Do yourself a favor and come give it a shot.

    "Birria tacos"
    Michael S.

I've steered away from La Nop for a while because their food always under-impressed. My team at work was ordering and I saw that the menu had been updated and included Birria Tacos so I decided to give it a go. When it comes to Birria, they clearly did not understand the assignment. The meat was definitely not seasoned or cooked in consommé. It was just slow cooked beef with no seasoning. The shells were not fried in the grease from the consommé and were just plain corn shells. That was all there was, just unseasoned meat and plain corn shells. No cheese or consommé to dip the tacos in. They did provide some cilantro and onion but that did very little to make any impact on the lack of flavor. The owners of La Nop should be ashamed of the food their kitchen is putting out and definitely should not have items misrepresented on the menu. I finished one of the three tacos before giving up. My dogs will get a nice treat when I get home tonight.

Chicken chimichanga with rice and beans

I love La Napolera, this is my first time at this specific location. We came in for lunch and arrived when they had just opened. We were seated right away. Our waitress was very nice. The atmosphere is really nice and I absolutely love the wall murals. Our food came out pretty quick. I ordered the chicken chimichanga and it was delish as always! It was hot and fresh! I would definitely come back.

This bug was crawling all over the plate!

There was a bug crawling on my cheese dip. The server apologized and brought a new one but after this I lost my appetite..

    "Chicken fajita salad, no onions"
    Jacob B.

This is the second time I ordered something to go and realized it was wrong when I got home. I ordered a chicken fajita salad with no onions, and got a steak fajita salad, extra onions. I called to ask for a refund or a discount the next time I came in, and they said I needed to come in if I wanted to get the food remade or a refund. I offered to take a picture and bring it in the next day or send it to any cell number as proof as I just arrived home and had to take care of my 1 year old. They said "no, I'm not giving you my number". Cool, I'll take my business elsewhere from now on. This restaurant's only appeal to me is their non chunky salsa anyway!

Food has gone down hill. Not sure if it's because of Covid or not but still no excuse. I ordered Supreme Nachos and got a bowl of dog food. There was no cheese 1 full slice of tomato sitting on top. The chips were wilted and couldnt even pick it up it just fell over. I found it disappointing and would never order it again. In fact I'm calling and demanding my money back.

Not the quesadilla supreme I am use to.

Who goes to a crowded restaurant on Cinco de Mayo? Well me and family do lol…read more We went to Mr. Gordo's Tacos & Cantina in Fleming Island off the 17 and it was a good time. I was shocked by the wait only being at 5 minutes for 3. Yay I love that! Before we start let me sip my margarita. I had the iced peach margarita and my husband had the frozen watermelon margarita. Now the ambiance was very nice! Very colorful and bright nice paintings on the wall. People were doing karaoke the music was going and the DJ was good! I was dancing at my table and eating and having a grand ole time! We had a great server name Gus that was extremely nice and patient with us as we were deciding on what we wanted. We started off with chips and salsa and normally I'm not a big fan of salsa with chunky veggies in it but surprisingly it was good. To order my son had the kids soft chicken taco with rice and beans. My Husband was BIG HUNGRY! He had a carne asada taco salad that looked extra yummy. He also had 4 Mexican street tacos 2 of them were carne asada and the other 2 were Al pastor. Now for me.....the review you all have been waiting for lol. I had the queso-birria tacos with the consomé and rice and beans. The rice and beans were chefs kiss. The meat was good and juicy however the flavor was lacking there and with the consomé I was highly disappointed. Besides my food being underwhelming the vibes were high today at the restaurant and the service was excellent. If I'm up for it I'll give their tacos a try in the future.

My brother went with the Cray Cray Burrito that comes with a huge side of fries. A very generous size and delicious, too. (You know I had to take a bite!) This casual dining establishment is consistently welcoming with an professional and attentive staff. Our server, Gus, made great recommendations and we decided to go for everything he suggested. If you come during the middle of the day, there's a happy hour you can take advantage of. They also have daily specials to include both food and alcoholic beverages. If you're interested in deliver or takeout, I've seen them extend the Taco Tuesday special on Uber Eats as well for those days where you can't get to the restaurant itself. The restaurant can get a little busier Friday and weekend nights. The food itself is above average for standard Mexican-American fare. Personally, I love their street tacos consisting of a variety of different meats of your choice. The Mariachi Burrito and their birria-related offerings are also excellent choices. Every table comes with a free serving of their fresh chips and tasty homemade salsa. As for drinks, there's an abundance of choices from Mexican coke and a ton of different margaritas. When it's finally time to go, they offer the ability to pay by phone in addition to having the server process the card. It makes getting out a ton easier. With that being said, give this place a shot. I've tried most of their nearby competitors at this point, and they don't compare.

I went with my…read morebrother for lunch and to use my birthday reward (free house margarita) before it expired the next day. First the good: the food was excellent-harkening back to the taste and quality when the restaurant opened in Fleming Island a number of years ago. I had enchiladas de mole- two corn tortillas stuffed with chicken and covered in a wonderful mole sauce- bittersweet with a touch of heat-one of the best I've had in Jacksonville. It came with a typical Mexican rice and refried beans that were good but pretty standard. My brother had the shrimp fajitas which was a giant serving of shrimp. and mixed veggies perfectly cooked and brought to the table sizzling hot. It came with the usual side of refried beans, rice and salad with guacamole, pico de gallo and topped with cheese. It was huge and delicious. we also received a basket of fresh chips and a newer, spicier chunky salsa that was also delicious. Now the bad: When I showed my birthday margarita reward to our eager and efficient waiter he had to ask how that worked because he was new. He came back to our table and told me that "this restaurant doesn't participate in that rewards promotion. Disappointed, I left my table and went to the greeter's stand to speak to the manager and was told that there wasn't a manager in the restaurant that day (it was a Thursday) and they couldn't honor the reward unless a manager was present. I was pretty upset by this since my reward expired the next day. I returned to our table, paid the bill and before I could get up my free birthday margarita magically appeared in a to go cup. In short, while the food was very good, and the atmosphere was still warm and cozy, the management is still uneven (or non-existent) which has turned Peppers from a must visit to a sadly iffy proposition.

We get this at the Collins Rd, Jacksonville, Fl location all the time, and it's always very good. At this location, the quesadillas were delivered in a puddle of liquid. The quesadillas were soggy. You couldn't pick them up, if you wanted to, and it was a mess to try and cut and keep it together. I had to ask for the manager. When I asked him why the quesadillas were in so much liquid, he didn't say anything. He just took all the food back to the kitchen. When they brought fresh food back out, the waiter said next time we need to ask for the quesadillas to be toasted crispy. No, that wasn't the problem. The second set didn't have a bunch of liquid on the plate. They put cheese sauce in a small bowl, on the plate with the quesadillas. We didn't use it. It was so watered down, it barely stuck to a chip. When my first plate came out, it was chipped. When the plates with our second meals came out, 4 in total, ALL of them were chipped. I'm including photos of all 4 plates. I should've taken pics of the first round of quesadillas, but I was shocked by how they came out, and busy trying to get a manager to my table. This restaurant is not worth the price of the food. I wasn't offered a dessert, discount, or anything else for having to wait for my meal to be cooked twice. I mentioned, to my waiter, that none of the Salsa's restaurants seem consistent. He said there's one main owner and partners. Each partner has their own menu, recipes, etc. So why go by the same name, if you're really not the same restaurant? My waiter was kind, helpful, and very apologetic. That's the only reason I gave them one star.

I've had quite a few dishes here, but my go-to fave is the Carnitas. Flavorful pulled pork, Spanish rice, refried beans, esquites (Mexican street corn), and warm flour tortillas. Forget eating everything separately...I go all in and scoop everything into that tortilla. SO GOOD. The tang and crunch from the esquites puts it over the top. Add a little squeeze of lime and dig in. The Enchiladas are also a good option when Im in the mood for some cheesy-melty goodness.
