Wow!! This is an amazing Italian restaurant!! If you want a cozy place for a date night or to satisfy an Italian food craving this should be your first pick! . We were visiting my brother from out of state and this was a must in his eyes and it didn't disappoint. I was told their scampi sauce was an absolute must taste too and it was amazing. The fresh garlic bread tasted like something out of my grandmas home recipe book. I ordered the traditional meat sauce and angel hair pasta. Surely if it was amazing I'd stamp my approval all over this place because it should hold up to my scrutiny and OMG wow!! Definitely as authentic as it gets. The rest of my family picked different meals and the nom nom nom's didn't stop nor did the wow's. The service was impeccable from the hostess, waitress and the live piano player. Very warming environment with a taste of actual traditional recipes. You won't be disappointed. We came for date night and as always, everything was amazing. We did an early dinner and the restaurant filled up within the hour, which I always love to see. They had a piano player toward the end of the dinner, and it was perfect. Not too loud, very enjoyable. The food was incredible. I love the bread (not pictured) and our usual favorite (cavatelli bolognese) was reliable as always. Our server and serve assistants were amazing and timely. A huge group of us came here after my step daughter's rehearsal-for dinner. Upon entering we could hear beautiful music coming from a musician lady. We had two huge tables reserved for our party. We had sweet tea, bread knots, several different kinds of pizza. We were able to take home almost a whole pizza. To Moore is the wedding. The service was excellent, music was nice, food was delicious and good. Pros: live music, great service Cons: tight parking and pizza was a wee bit soggy. Huge amount of people. First time at Santioni's and the atmosphere was wonderful. Our server was top notch and very impressive, I'm so sorry I failed to remember his name. We started with the amazing bread and stuffed mushrooms, wow what an amazing start. My wife and i split the wedding soup, so delicious and fresh. My wife liked the chicken piccata and could not finish it. I had the veal Parmesan and the veal was tender, sauce was amazing and a bit much cheese ( the cheese is my personal choice, i failed to mention light cheese). Cheese does not like me. LOL. We were impressed by this unassuming little restaurant in a strip mall south of Jacksonville. This is old school classic Italian. Warm hospitality, generous plates of delicious food in a comfortable environment. Dinner started with complimentary bread. Delicious little "rolls" that were similar to Focaccia. We gobbled down the entire basket and our waitress brought more. Even more surprising is that soup and salad is included with many of the entrees! Considering that, we thought the prices for cocktails and entrees were fair. We stuck to the classics like meatballs, eggplant parm and shrimp scampi. Everything we tried was delicious, and their tomato sauce was very good. The key lime pie for dessert was classic Florida, but they also offer more traditional Italian desserts. My mom and I split the Fettuccine Alfredo with grilled chicken. It is so rich and creamy and perfect. The chicken makes a good addition. The portion size is so generous that we like to split it. Something seemed to be off in the kitchen last night and Im thinking they were just a bit overwhelmed due to a large group event. The high note was the appetizers. Stuffed mushrooms, mussels, and salads (all delicious). Unfortunately 3 of our 6 main courses were very bland. White sauce and linguine was nearly tasteless. Shrimp and scallops were overcooked. Dining room staff were amazing and provided replacements and alternatives for our dinners which greatly improved our experience. So, stopped in for dinner to see how the food was after 15 years. The food didn't disappoint but be prepared to spend bit more for that and the great service. Dale was our caretaker and take care of us he did. Very astute with the menu choices and his recommendations were excellent on the wine and prep of my wife's filet. We had calamari as an appetizer which was simple and good tasting paired with marinara sauce. For the meal my wife had the 7oz Cajun Filet Mignon which she said was very good flavored and super tender. A side of spaghetti and marunaraauce complimented the meal. My wife asked for a sweet wine and Dale selected a great tasting Mosacato. I had the blackened Grouper. It was super tender and spiced perfectly. Also came with a side of spaghetti and marinara sauce. Service was impeccable and the food was great. Will definitely be back for more. Dying to try the lasagna and the table behind us had a medium calzone. It was as big as a medium pizza tray and they said it tastes great! I hear the large will feed a family of 6!! So, I went back a second time with my wife to the restaurant. But this time it didn't seem consistent with our first experience. I got the dish my wife got last time and it seem like there wasn't hardly any sauce is mainly just like an oily type of liquid with some seasonings of pepper flakes, and so forth I didn't look like much of a sauce to me. I try to bite of hers the last time I went, and it was much better that time from my recollection. This time she ordered a Marsala dish and it was fine but instead of the default Alfredo pasta, she got their spaghetti marinara and she wasn't too happy with it. It seems their standard marinara sauce isn't very good. For some reason. I know at least one other person who doesn't like it either. We did get an appetizer of pizza this time and that was quite good, but be warned because even their small is as large as some of the larges from chain restaurants so we each had like one slice and boxed up the rest. I liked the Rosato sauce last time I was there that was in their Mastaccioli Rosato. They had a musician again, this time a guitarist. But he packed up shortly after we got there. Have been to Santioni's twice. Both times I've been happy with the food & service. They do a nice job. One of the best Cannoli I've tasted. They put sprinklers on each end. Taste better without them. Another reason to visit is Ms. Gina who sings & plays the piano. Makes for a delightful dinner. We requested a song & she played it well. Not sure she's there every night though. This is my all time favorite Italian restaurant. Tonight's dinner was no different from our past experiences. My husband had a clam chowder soup to start and said it was the best one he has had. The garlic bread are little dreamy pockets of dough with a crisp outside and chewy inside. Everything tasted fresh and was served at the perfect temperature. We got a slice of almond tiramisu to go which ended up being eaten as soon as we got home. Reservations are highly recommended since this Italian gem is not a secret. Wife and I first tried this place a couple years ago. I personally don't recall how great the food was but I do remember the owner coming out to greet everyone then started singing. We have not been back since but my wife always rave about how much she loved this place, and how good the food was. Fast forward to September of 2024. At least we heard the happy birthday song 6 times while we were there. It was noisy but fun noisy. Once the birthday parties left. The place was SUPER quiet. The live singer also started packing up when the last birthday party left. There were a few other people dining so it wasn't like we were the only ones in there. Anyway. We ordered the calamari as the appetizer. Not good. The tube was a bit undercooked. The few pieces of tentacles were good though. I ordered the chicken marsala with the clam chowder. I believe my wife ordered the chicken piccata with wedding soup. My son got the Fettuccini alfredo with grilled chicken. The best part of the meal? The complimentary bread. No one enjoyed their food. My chicken marsala was sort of awful but I ate it anyway. The sauce tasted off. My son did not want his meal after a couple bites. Weird because this kid is super happy with the Walmart branded alfredo sauce over any type of pasta. This experience was a total bust and we should have kept the good memories from the first visit.
