Cheesesteak, Cooper Sharp, Corropolese Hard Seeded Rolls
    Nevin P.

We went on a cheesesteak tour to 3 different spots in Philly! Lets review La Nova Pizza and Steak! Pros: Massive! Tons of meat Cooper sharp, hard seeded rolls Great prices The staff was kind and welcoming. Made sure we were taken care of. It is fun watching the employees make the pizzas and cheesesteaks. Cons: Street parking, not great No seating available For me personally, slightly too much cheese in this cheesesteak Decor was very limited both inside and outside the establishment.

Cheesesteak with green peppers and onions.

They give you good portions. Very filling. We ordered cheesesteak with fried onions, green peppers and xtra cheese. My only complaint is that they don't cut the green peppers in smaller pieces. When ordering on DoorDash they also don't take special requests. We like are fries with salt and ketchup you can't request that on DoorDash.

Amazing! I told my husband I wanted to try this spot which we pass all the time. It's an unassuming store front. I called our orders in and was told about 30-35 minutes and I could hear it was busy. I arrived early and was just sitting in the car, the lady called me to tell me my food was ready. There was a small line when I walked in, some people ordering some people waiting, I'm glad I ordered ahead. I got my two steaks and went home. This cheesesteak is hefty, the meat was falling out. The cheese was mixed in and that roll was perfect. I turned to my husband after eating and say that was a great cheesesteak maybe one of the best I've had and he agreed and said "give them a good review" so here we are. It's a messy cheesesteak but who cares it's delicious.

Waste of money unhappy tonight who ever was cooking don't do good at all pizza was also missing the basil

Came back to one of my favorite places to pick up food tonight to take a break from cooking spent 82.00 I regret it the order was horrible tonight. Ordered cheesesteak pizza it was ok but the cheese on top was burnt but edible. The plain pizza wasn't edible the whole thing was burnt as you can see in the pictures attached. The chicken fingers were dried out and not edible my son bit into them the taste like there was something wrong with them taste like biting into powder. We ordered cheese fries also asked to cook them well done with salt no salt was on them and the fries weren't cooked longer. Not happy tonight It feels like I should've cooked at home and saved my money. Whoever is cooking tonight not a good job tonight

Had it last weekend Some how three steaks were done 10 minutes before a small pizza. So by the time we ate the steaks in the truck across the street they were soggy as hell. Could also have been the constant hosing down with water the cook was squirting on them to add moisture. Definitely over rated for philly's steak game but good pizza taste and crust.

Cheesesteak- cooper sharp , fried onions and hot cherry peppers- so damn good !

Been wanting to try this place for a few months. Stopped in quick on my way back home after going to the Italian market in south philly. I had the almighty Angelo's but this one might beat them out. Bit of a ride for me about 2hrs south but totally worth it. This place has gone viral and I can definitely see why. They got some good music crankin inside , it's a tiny place , mainly for take out , it's not a place you can sit inside. Very fast paced, friendly staff. The cheesesteaks rock! I got 1 to try - fresh seeded roll , cooper sharp , fried onions and you need to add the hot cherry peppers. It's a fully loaded cheesesteak! I split half with my wife and had to go back inside to get 2 more to take back home. We will definitely be back again!

Different Cheesesteak #1237. Spoiler alert: I liked it! BUT, it's hard to see in the picture, but this cheesesteak had a lot of cheese on it. I tasted cheese for the next day and a half. It came on a very good roll. But the roll had a lot of bread. In my humble opinion, it needed to be scooped. - Sidebar - bread pudding people - I love me some bread pudding. - They use a nice thicker slice of meat. But I couldn't taste it through the cheese. Good-looking onions. But I didn't get much flavor from them. AND I still liked it! You know I love $13.95!

    Spicy pepperoni pizza and cheesesteak.

Service was quick and easy at the restaurant. I ordered the spicy pepperoni pizza and a cheesesteak with fried onions. If you enjoy a nice kick of spice in your food, this pizza is for you. The pizza was cooked well and the dough had a great crunch to it. But for the cheesesteak, I feel it lacked a little bit in flavor. They definitely hook you up with a hefty amount of meat though so I was not upset for the price I paid for it. Nice soft roll too. Also this steak was chopped a little too much for my liking. Just my opinion though. I will be returning to try more in the future.

New spot in the burg LaNova. $13 bucks for the steak $6 bucks for the fries, lots, loaded, and fair price! Fast counter service. Very clean ambience it is take out / delivery only no seating. First time I've seen banana peppers mixed in. Love it. Of course Cooper Sharp cheese. The steak was absolutely delicious! The fries and the steak seasoned to perfection! It hit the spot on this cold, damp dreary, Saturday evening. Here is a fun fact, they used to have Asteroids deluxe and a Mario Brothers arcade game in this place by the window when I was growing up as a kid, many owners ago, I use to stop in there and play them almost daily spending my paper route quarters!

Small spot, however they were rocking and rolling in there everyone had smiles and focused which means your food is with love !

I actually celebrated my birthday here last year and this place is always a hit, never a miss! We started with the cucumber and tomato salad and the country bread, and what a delicious combination! We also ordered a side of olive oil, and they seriously have some of the best olive oil I've had in a while. I definitely recommend getting some on the side to dip your country bread in. Trust me! We paired everything with a pitcher of sangria, which gives you about four drinks and was much more economical than ordering individual cocktails. I finally tried the chicken Parmesan, and boy, am I kicking myself for not trying it sooner! The chicken breast was thick, juicy, moist, and perfectly crunchy. Some places make their chicken Parm so thin that it barely feels like you're eating chicken, but this was an actual substantial piece of chicken with the perfect bite. Our waitress told me I could swap out the pasta and sauce that normally come with the chicken Parmesan, so of course I did! I got the rigatoni with vodka sauce, and it was DELIGHTFUL. The portion was massive, so I took leftovers home and yes, I absolutely ate them the very next day! My fiancé got the branzino and wanted something lighter so he could help me with the rigatoni. His plate was beautifully presented, the fish tasted incredibly fresh, and it was exactly what he wanted. Overall, we had another wonderful experience. This restaurant will always hold a special place in our hearts, and we'll definitely be back! A special shoutout to our waitress, who was absolutely delightful and told me I could change the pasta and sauce with my chicken Parmesan. You changed my life! You have no idea how happy you made me. I wish I had gotten your name, but truly, everyone there is always so lovely. Thank you for another amazing experience!

Our server apologized for a delay in taking our drink orders. She was attentive the rest of our meal. I ordered a Charles deGaulle whiskey cocktail. Lemon, aperol and simple syrup added a refreshing twist. For entrees, my wife ordered the pacherri; a simple pork ragu with tender broccoli rabe, Parmesan, stracciatello and basil. The dish was delicious. I enjoyed my plate of sea-inspired tonnarelli nero. Bay scallops in crab ragu with fennel sofrito. Served with squid ink pasta that imparted a slight brininess. The pasta was cooked pangrattato style-- coated in panko bread crumbs and garlic. The dish had many flavors but they all came back to the theme. Cocktail prices and entree prices were very reasonable. They offer happy hour drinks and specials. Certainly a very good choice if you're in the area.

Everything was as perfect as it could be why is that because this restaurants been doing it for over 126 years they know a thing or two their customers and had to prepare plate delicious meals. Surprise surprise we actually found parking OK maybe that's because we got there earlier than our reservation in hopes to make another stop that didn't work out so we came early and they greeted us with open arms took us to a beautiful table in front of vintage fireplace hence we were sitting in the perfect spot. Our server, Justin came over to greet us. We got into some conversation before we even touched upon the food. He was exceptional at his run through the menu, his explanations on preparations handling questions. This was definitely not his first, not his second and not his third rodeo he's definitely a professional at what he does. Upon review of the menu we started off with steamed clams and a spicy marinara and actually asked for fra Diavlo hence they gave it an additional hit of spice. It had a nice kick. It was very tasty. My wife was going back-and-forth between their signature lasagna and a little weak weenie with crab Bianco and in the end she went with the baked lasagna oh my goodness the size of that piece on the plate we took half home. She certainly enjoyed her. For me, I went with the veal Catherine, the medallions veal with shrimp, lump crab meat, and fresh tomato and a Bianco sauce the plating presentation I can't describe you'll just have to see my photograph. I've never seen it like this before and it was extremely tasty. Very tender I would certainly get that dish again. And since I am not a pasta eater, I ordered a side vegetable of broccoli Rob. And we ordered a bottle of the Italian Montepuliciano wine, what was the perfect compliment to our dinner? And this was my birthday. My wife was surprising me she had already pre-ordered their homemade tiramisu with ladyfingers, which would wind up taking with us cause we were kind of full and had later that night at one of our favorite coffee houses in Philly and boy that dessert was perfect and I'm glad we waited. Again, everybody was smiles, friendly, and helpful. The place of spotless and you really feel like you're in someone's home. I scoped out the menu ahead of time and read all the reviews. When the day finally arrived I noticed how small the space was for an event. Everyone was crammed into the space and we were smushed into the corner. We were able to easily ignore the discomfort once we saw there was roasted garlic in olive oil on the table with fresh bread. I was so excited to try the sweet potato gnocchi that I had seen on socials, but it was no where to be found on the menu. When our server came to tell us the specials, she announced the sweet potato gnocchi and I was sold. We decided to start with the burrata, which paired well with the roasted garlic and bread. My sweet potato gnocchi was served in a decadent cream sauce. The gnocchi itself was very dense, almost a harder consistency. My sister in law got the regular ricotta gnocchi and it was pillowy and light, a completely different texture than mine. I still enjoyed mine, I just wish it could have been a little softer. We shared the cheesecake for dessert, and it was fine. Not memorable, but good. My sister in law got the creme brûlée and THAT was good. I regretted not getting that instead. Another person we were dining with got the pork chop and it was phenomenal. I wished I had gotten it, it was THAT good. For this experience, the ambience, location, and everything else considered I'd give it 3.5 stars.

It was actually a birthday dinner too, Maria and Mariangeli were treating Chef Dionicio and me for our birthdays, so we were already looking forward to a good night, and Fiorella definitely delivered. We sat outside and honestly, that might be the way to do it. Really nice setup, relaxed South Philly atmosphere, good drinks on the table, good food coming out, and you're just hanging out with friends. Nothing felt rushed. We ordered a bunch of things to share and try. The arancini were great, and the pork belly & octopus skewer was probably one of the more interesting things we had. I wouldn't normally think of putting those two together, but it worked. Then the pasta came out. The ravioli with lamb, peperonata and caciocavallo was really good, and the rigatoni with Fiorella sausage ragu was one of those dishes where you keep going back for another bite even though you're already getting full. And don't sleep on the focaccia and olive oil either. Simple, but so good. We definitely weren't letting that go to waste. Drinks were great too. They have some interesting cocktails instead of just the same stuff you see everywhere, which I appreciated. The staff also deserves a shoutout. Everyone was friendly and attentive, but they gave us space to enjoy ourselves. That's a big thing for me. When you're having dinner with friends, you don't want to feel like you're being pushed through the meal so they can flip the table. By the end of the night, it wasn't even just about the food anymore. We were outside in South Philly, eating some really good Italian food, having drinks, laughing, celebrating two birthdays and just enjoying each other's company. Those are the dinners you remember.
