I personally would order this as my meal if I could. room temp, oily, good crunch to soft ratio. Judion Beans: good beans. they are on a similar wavelength as butter beans. honestly I get them for the table for the extra bowl of oil at the bottom to dip the crusts in. Creamy Oregano Salad: very interesting. small shaves of mushroom and fennel. very slight bitter taste. oddly addictive. the olives were my favorite part. i'd consider these friendly olives to those suspicious of olives. and the olives are cut in halves, so easy to pick out. so are the mushrooms. easy split for a table of four. beyond that i'd get two. *ADD ON* pickled chilies: very good. I suggest adding this to the pie. they are green, spicy, delicious, absolutely lovely. Corn Pizza: all together very delicious. my favorite part are the cherry tomatoes on top, which I would really like to be an add on option to other pies. they are the perfect flavor and size. i'm not particularly a tomato fan, especially whole. these are a rare exception. Classic Pizza?: solid, no notes. good as always. My only wish is that they offered a sauce to dip my crust in. they have very good crust, perfect ration of crispy and fluffy. just needs a sauce. I think Pizzeria Beddia is a perennial 4-star damn good spot. The entire staff is very friendly and super knowledgeable about the menu and wine list and the ambiance is clean and always feels alive. Makes it a great spot for a pizza date night. The pizzas absolutely are the star and they care about the quality that they put out. I've never had a pizza that wasn't within their consistent standard. The corn pizza, when in season, is a stunner and a reason to go on its own. The small plates are all delicious and if you like wine, the list they have is really strong always. All of the above said, every single time I go I see the bill and I say to myself, "oh that was a little more than I thought it was going to be." Has it stopped me from going back? No! During our short term stay in Philadelphia before we move into our new house, we have been pelted with social media content about Philly food options and Pizzeria Beddia came up again and again. It has been quite a while since I've been to Beddia, but they never disappoint. We walked in without a reservation on a Tuesday night with hopes of being seated (Philly is still covered in snow, so our hopes were high) and got a nice little table in the corner right away. The hostess took our coats (a nice touch!) and then a rotation of two servers explained the specials and we ordered. I love that the menu is on the shorter side and they rotate the pizza offerings, so even if you're visiting on a regular basis, you'll always be able to try something new. Additionally, when a menu is only about 2 pages, you know everything on those two pages is top notch, as was the case at Pizzeria Beddia. This evening we got the meatballs (didn't take a photo, was too excited, but they were HUGE and excellent) and the beef, pork and veal balls with a rich red sauce was outstanding. Pizza isn't my go-to dinner because I normally don't feel great after eating it, but I knew I was in for a treat with 100% organic flour dough and high quality toppings.
