    Elote and mambo no. Pizza
    Derek Ignatius Paul H.

Pizza was not too greasy and the dough was very natural and bread like. The best kind of pizza to be considered "healthy-ish". Elote pizza was my favorite of the two with its creamy and comforting savoury corn toppings. This outlet could definitely do with better ventilation as the smoke from the ovens caused our eyes to tingle.

Good late night pizza spot. Tried the moonstruck pizza and garlic knots. The garlic knots were delicious. The moonstruck was really good but they went overboard with the balsamic glaze. Other than that, delicious. The place itself was kind of dirty- tables were not wiped down at all and trash was overflowing, but it was busy even at 2 am.

Love this place. Hip location in University City. Friendly staff and funky (in a good way) ambience. Pizza is unique but still hits the spot like classic pizza. Garlic knots are to die forr and worth a look. Parking could be a little better.

Stopped by &pizza for a late-night bite before heading back to the hotel and decided to create my own custom pizza along with a drink -- it was awesome. Even though it was a busy night, the line moved quickly, and I didn't have to wait long. There were plenty of available seats, and the dining area was clean and well-maintained. A great spot for a tasty, quick meal late at night!

This was pretty standard pizza of course, but it was still very good. The service itself was slow. I stood in the place for a solid 5 minutes without being acknowledged by the employees working. At first I thought they were working on my online order, but my order was actually already done which was slightly frustrating. The interior is also really small, so I was seen waiting. Anyway, the pizza was good. I'm not pressed to go back, but if someone else asked, I would.

The pizza here always hits. It's cooked just right every time, and I love how many ways I can switch it up and make it my own. I did try the cinnamon knots, though -- they were burnt, hard to chew, and super dry. No dipping sauce either, which made it worse. Wouldn't get those again. Still, the pizza's solid and keeps me coming back.

Of the top, darn good pizzas and a great portion. I only eat my local city pizza really which is either dominos or downtown spots but this one is up there. Having the pickle pizza was different, yet enjoyable since I added a bunch of other ingredients without extra charge. Ambience is whatever since it was empty and a late night on a work day but more peace and quiet for me.

&pizza - the food is always solid and my pizza was good, but... it was not accurate. In the photo you can see that there is goat cheese instead of blue cheese. The mushrooms and grilled onions looked to be missing too. My partner's order was also inaccurate. I'm sure they would have re-made the pizzas, but pretty inconvenient when you place the order for pick up and don't realize until you're home already.

Pineapple and Pepperoni pizza I received instead of a SIMP/Traditional pizza.

I was not aware of this large location that has seating. The location was clean with nice natural light. The staff member was polite. I love that & Pizza has 2 Center City locations. There is a gluten free crust option. Vegan Cheese: Follow Your Heart Brand 2 vegan protein options: Daring chicken & Finely grounded Beyond sausage. I am puzzled as to why only a few crumbs of vegan sausage are provided on a pizza which is nowhere near a portion or adequate serving of protein. Also the very small bits of sausage are not that flavorful after being placed in the pizza oven. If I am paying $18.50 for this personal pizza, I should not still be hungry do to insufficient protein. (Picture on the right has vegan sausage or lack there of) Regular meat options are bountiful. I just ask the same for vegan meat options.

I wanted to get there soon after they opened so we wouldn't have to wait a long time, but we slept in and didn't make it until around 11:40 am. We waited in line less than 10 minutes and we placed our electronic order. We requested two traditional cheesesteaks and a pepperoni pizza. Then we left and walked around the neighborhood a little. We found a place nearby to sit and waited for the text message indicating our food was ready. Not long after, we got the text message. I headed to back to the restaurant and stood in a short second line to pay. Once I paid, we grabbed our food and drinks and went back to our spot. Lots of people were sitting around eating and raving about the food. The sandwiches were large and heavy. The first bite was incredible. The flavors of the bread, cheese, and steak hit you. They were very rich and decadent. It was a delicious cheesesteak. The bread was of the highest quality. I don't think the sesame seeds were necessary, but they do convey quality from the housemade bread. The cheesesteak was incredible and very filling. I only ate half of one, since they were so big. The pepperoni pizza was also incredible. It's one of the best that I've had. The undercarriage of the slices were crispy and thin. The flavors were excellent. The quality was excellent. I wish I had this pizza in my neighborhood. The system they have set up is quick and efficient. They serve a massive amount of food in a short amount of time. There were a bunhc of employees cranking out sandwiches just behind the counter. Very well run. Very well done.

While I might choose another place for takeout, when the goal is a night of pizza, wine, great atmosphere, and authentic neighborhood vibes, this is usually where we end up. The space is bright, industrial, airy, and thoughtfully designed but unforced. White walls, warm wood, considered lighting, and a floor plan with real breathing room. The vibe recalls Bucktown, Wicker Park, Williamsburg, and Greenpoint: design-forward but genuinely local. There's a great bar, and booths near the kitchen with glass windows that let you watch the staff. Our three-year-old was mesmerized, and the staff was warm and playful, smiling and waving while they cooked. A small detail, but memorable. The crowd feels local. Good music, friendly people, hip but never pretentious. It's just a fun place to be with great service, too. The food is outstanding. We usually order the chicories caesar with grana padano and breadcrumbs, and the lettuce salad with shaved vegetables and creamy oregano dressing. For pizza, we love the arrabbiata (the Angry pie) and tomato pie with sausage and pickled chilies. My wife enjoys the ice cream. A note on bringing kids: I don't think this is a family restaurant, but if your kids are curious and well-behaved, it's absolutely worth bringing them earlier in the evening. We've gone around 4:30 or 5:00 on weekends and always felt comfortable. One time, our daughter had a full meltdown, and we were mortified, but the staff couldn't have been cooler. They packed everything to go, kindly and without any judgment. That kind of grace is hard to fake, and it genuinely stuck with us. Pricing is fair for the quality of the food and the experience. Places like this can seem overrated or overpriced, but this one doesn't. It offers real value for a memorable night out. The whole restaurant feels like a microcosm of Philadelphia's progressive, creative side. There's real ambition behind it, but it still feels human and grounded, nothing sterile, nothing corporate, nothing over-engineered. Just smart people building a cool neighborhood place that others actually want to spend time in. Oh, and make a reservation. Great spot, Joe. We'll be back soon. Thank you!

The hostess took our coats (a nice touch!) and then a rotation of two servers explained the specials and we ordered. I love that the menu is on the shorter side and they rotate the pizza offerings, so even if you're visiting on a regular basis, you'll always be able to try something new. Additionally, when a menu is only about 2 pages, you know everything on those two pages is top notch, as was the case at Pizzeria Beddia. This evening we got the meatballs (didn't take a photo, was too excited, but they were HUGE and excellent) and the beef, pork and veal balls with a rich red sauce was outstanding. Came in an order of 2 but one was plenty for each of us. The Pizza we got had potatoes on it, and we added sausage per the servers recommendation, and it was cooked perfectly and all of the flavors blended so well together. We are so lucky to have an amazing (and nationally recognized!) pizza spot in the neighborhood and it's always nice when you can walk in without a reservation from time to time.

Fortunately, I got booked on a flight out the next morning and found a hotel in the city. Other than running to a drug store, my only other time leaving my hotel was to grab dinner at Pizzeria Vetri across the street. I enjoyed the food, the service, and the ambiance. I was immediately seated upon arriving to Pizzeria Vetri. I was asked if I wanted to sit at the bar, at a table, or at the pizza counter. I chose the pizza counter so that I could watch staff making pizzas. As I was there on my own, the serving staff continued to stop by and check on me. The menu includes neopolitan pizzas (12" feeding 1-2 people) and metro pizzas (28" feeding 3-4 people). They make pizzas, calzones, antipasti, and salads. I chose a Neapolitan-style pepperoni pizza consisting of pepperoni, tomato sauce, mozzarella, and fresh oregano. It was quite filling and absolutely delicious! They also sell pizza kits so that you can make your own pizza at home. Pizzeria Vetri was created to celebrate the art of authentic pizza making. Their plain pies strike a great balance between thin crust and traditional hand-tossed pizza. My wife prefers thinner pizza, while I lean toward something with a bit more structure, and somehow this lands perfectly in the middle. The large plain pie is also very fairly priced for Center City these days, especially considering the quality. A large plain pie with no toppings generally feeds about three people, depending on appetite size, maybe four if people are eating lightly. The garlic knots are excellent, pickup times are reliable, and the place always feels lively. They've clearly built a loyal neighborhood following. I look forward to trying more specialty pies, especially the Brooklyn Upside Down. What I appreciate most is that it feels like a real neighborhood pizza spot, not overly polished or trendy, just consistently very good. The pizza also feels a bit different from a classic New York-style pie in a way that's hard to describe but really works. We've ordered it in for friends and family visiting from out of town, and people are always impressed. Pizzata sets up tables in good weather for casual dinners with kids. It's also convenient that they're on the Slice app for digital orders. Highly recommend if you want excellent Center City pizza for takeout or a casual sit-down experience. Thank you!

While I can't speak for a bulk of their menu, I can say that I was left wishing I had ordered their pizza al' tagglio instead of the classic, "Queen Margherita." We arrived around 8:30 on a Saturday night, not realizing they close at 9, and were among the last customers to order. So, a little PSA!!! Get there earlier if you're out and about on the weekend. The cashier's energy made it pretty clear the staff was ready to wrap up for the night, and unfortunately, that seemed to carry over into the overall experience. Our order took about 20 minutes to come out, and while the crust was addictive, the pizza as a whole felt lackluster. The sauce was your rather basic crushed whole peeled tomatoes that seemed hand crushed and spread thinly over the perfectly crisp crust. And I do mean perfect folks. The blobs of half melted mozzarella were randomly scattered atop like a Dalmatian's spots and despite the menu stating parmesan was supposed to be there, I saw no trace. Same goes for the EVOO. Once fresh basil leaves were scattered atop but lost their vibrancy since the had obviously been added to the pie before putting it in the oven. Rating: 7/10 (the crust is the savior here) All in all, I would absolutely give Pizzata another go. The Roman-style pizza gets a lot of love, and after seeing photos of some of their other pies, they've still got me salivating so I am not writing them off just yet. The Margherita may not have wowed me, but that crust alone is definitely something worth coming back for.
