This place is really nice. I stopped here are a hike. It has ample seating tables and booths. They have an extensive selection of usual Mexican fare. The chips were crunchy and fresh made and the spice on salsa well balanced. the horchata portion was generous. i had the vegetarian quesadilla and the veggies had an excellent grille flavor. my friends steak burrito and chicken verde enchiladas were excellent too. This place was lovely. I don't know what our waiter's name was but his hair was short and stood up a bit and he was very kind. The horchata comes in a nice tall glass and is perfectly mild and flavorful at the same time. The salsa is not too spicy, which I appreciate. The tortilla chips are very good and taste homemade, not like some other restaurants that have thin and flavorless chips. I shared the Big Texan nachos with added lettuce, guac, and sour cream. It can easily be split 2 or more ways and was about 1:1 topping to chip ratio. read more

This restaurant is a hidden gem. I wish, I wrote a review the first time I came here and it is becoming a little bit of a tradition every time I am visiting Northern Georgia. My favorite meal from here is the chicken soup. The menu mentions a Mexican style chicken soup. It has shredded chicken, tomatoes, cilantro, and avocado. I have never tried avocado in my soup, but the combination including the broth hits the spot. The large soup comes with a flauta which was delicious too (taste really good with guacamole). As you wait for your food the chips and salsa are delicious, probably the best that I have tried. The service was excellent, everyone is friendly. The restaurant is located on the same building of a hotel, so do not let that deter you (I said it's a hidden gem). Inside the restaurant, it is your typical regular Mexican restaurant. It's not loud and crowded. I have always eaten my food comfortably here. If you are ever in Clayton, Georgia and looking for something to eat. This is the place to go. read more

This little gem is hiding in the Days Inn at the main intersection in Clayton, GA. WOW! We came here with a group of friends and the food was OFF THE CHAIN! Service was great, the staff were friendly. And the owners happily treated our birthday girl AND our anniversary couple to fried ice cream. The salsa and chips here were the best in forever... and we eat LOTS of Mexican food all over the US. My sister said this place was every bit as good as our favorite place in San Antonio, TX. (THAT is quite the compliment, coming from her.) I liked the food SO MUCH that I came back the very next day for lunch. The prices are a bargain for such quality ingredients... and they have an a la carte menu, for those of us with smaller appetites. Looking forward to coming back weekly. Ive been driving by often for three years so finally decided to stop in for dinner. They have a large menu with just about everything Mexican you can think of. When I walked in the guy at the register said sit anywhere you want. I like that. Sometimes you want to read, look out the window, and often when they seat you at places they seem to seat you in the worst possible spot. I noticed a big dinner for I believe it was $11.99 that had an enchilada, tamale, relleno, tostada, taco, rice, and beans. I felt if I want to see what they can do here that would give me a taste of several. You can add a 16 oz draft beer of 4 different beers for $2.00 to any dinner entre. So I did that too! Overall it was good. I am rating it compared to the competition. If I was in a border state it would be a 3 star at best, but since in GA and NC its next to impossible to ever find a really good Mexican restaurant, this place is above the norm so rated it a 4 star. The tamale was the highlight! So often a tamale is all masa (dough) as you bite through it looking for whats in the middle. Then you find a smidgen of meat. Here the meat was all the way through the whole tamale, so thats a big plus! Aim to try that if you come here. The booths are terrible, that back cushion, if you can call it a cushion hits your back and the tables slide and the whole thing is very uncomfortable. Avoid the booths. read more

Simply leaving a comment to make others aware that the public restrooms inside the restaurant are NOT wheelchair-user friendly. The door-width couldn't have been more than 20 inches wide. A big inconvenience when you need to pee! Not to mention, they are not to compliant with ADA law. read more

Sat in the restaurant with my family for 30 minutes waiting to have our order taken. Watched the two couples behind us order and get their food while we still sat waiting for someone to take our order. Left $3 on the table to cover the chips someone had brought us and when we informed the manager at the front we were leaving and why he stated, "that's fine! Bye!" Mediocre food and service. $2 Dos Equis drafts with dinner almost made make it worth it, but not quite. Major mixup with our dinner order which included the addition of sliced jalapeños to a hot fajita plate. Capsaicin, the compound that gives hot peppers heat, can be effective as a wide-area pepper spray. When the fajitas arrived, the capsaicin quickly spread throughout the restaurant and everyone in the restaurant started coughing and headed for the door, eyes streaming with tears!! Kind of comical in retrospect but didn't seem so at the time! Once the few remaining customers were able to breathe again, the manager busied himself trying to straighten out the order. As far as I know nobody expressed any sorrow for "pepper spraying" a room full of patrons and everybody, including my me, paid full price for their meals and drinks. read more
