Hands down the best mexican food in the Lafayette area. And it is a plus when the bartendar is super nice and attentive.

Definitely authentic! It's a little small and the service can be on the slow side but for quality Mexican food it's tops in Laffy. The Cameroon ranchero is the best dish on the menu. 9/18/13 - Love, love, love the food here!! Have had several choices the chicken enchilada suiza and the tamale dinner's are two of my favorites, although there are several others that I thoroughly enjoyed! The "special" side sauce ,hot,hot w/avocados is a must have, you might have to pay a little extra to get it but if you like spicey it is well worth the price!!The el hefe margarhita is to die for!! My favorite Mexican restaurant in town. It seem to always be busy so be prepared to wait - not long, but long enough to make you really hungry. I've gone with friends and family alike. Horrible Food, Horrible Service. Had to ask for refills for each person at the table every time someone ran out. The baby basket of chips they gave us for 4 people was never refilled during our one our wait for the food. When it finally came, the taco salad was wretched. Ground meat tasted like it had gone bad prior to cooking and the chicken in my daughters quesadilla was squishy and did not taste like chicken. My other child's simple order of a peanut butter and jelly sandwich was actually GRILLED. Made several complaints to our waiter that were NEVER addressed by anyone. We love the steak chimichanga and always get it. Today at lunch there was miscommunication with our waiter and he brought us the ground beef chimichanga. We tried to send it back but the waiter said it would come out of his pocket and the manager was not customer friendly at all. Instead of trying to make it right and earn good will, she insisted that she could send us what we ordered but it would come out of the waiter's pocket. Hands down best Latin food in Lafayette. It's also authentic Mexican which is even better. I've only been going here for year and the food has been great every time. The Tacos Al Carbone meal is my favorite, following with the Barbacoa, Al Pastor, and the Bistek tacos. Don't forget the sopapillas for dessert. Well, I have been going there averaging once a week since I discovered it about 4 weeks ago and it's delicious! I absolutely love the queso!!!! Omg so Rich and creamy but tasty! This is an actual AUTHENTIC Mexican Restaurant. FINALLY! The food is amazing! I always get the chicken chimichanga, and my gf gets authentic beef tacos. Only way people are complaining is because they are used to the taste of Taco Bell as an authentic Mexican food in Lafayette it seems. Oh dear sweet Jesus, we were recommended this place as " authentic Mexican." Maybe it's because we have AMAZING options for real Mexican in Florida but this place is hands down the worst food we have had. Our first red flag should have been our waitress describing the sangria as " purple " when I asked if it was red or white sangria. The sangria, although it wasn't indicated anywhere on the menu nor was I given the option, came frozen and was a syrupy disgusting frozen mess. The chips that came with our " quest dip " we're fried peices of fluffy tortilla? Almost like pita chips, unlike the corn tortilla chips that were originally brought with the salsa which tasted like Tostitos salsa but had a whole bunch of oil on top and cooked celery chunks in it. We ordered tacos, I got two Barbacoa ( shredded steak ) and a bistek ( sliced steak ) and my boyfriend got one of each which was two different types of pork and the two steaks and a beef tongue. Overall the tacos were bland, flavorless, and some even tasted like canned tuna. The Barbacoa had the texture of stringy baby poop. We didn't finish any of our meal. Our server didn't even question anything and just took the plates away like this was a normal occurrence. We would have been better off going to Taco Bell. read more
