Food was honestly amazing, wish there was more hot sauce options but other than that amazing. Service was amazing and fast, they seem to be very organized. The vibes were amazing, could get very hectic though !

Omg best loaded potatoes hands down!! My first time trying this spot. Was recommended by a lot of friends and also seen them blow up on tik tok. I came on a Friday around 8p.m and was able to order quickly and get my food quickly as well. Only took about 10 mins total and was hot and fresh. I love their portions. 1 order can definitely feed 2 people. I chose the 3 meat loaded potato and added guacamole and corn. So good and filling. Will be coming back again. So delicious. I also got their mango Agua Fresca drink so fresh and yummy as well.

Had no idea there were these tiny pockets of adorable food trucks tucked away in San Jose! We made the trek and will share its 100% worth it! The La Papa Loca truck is located all the way at the end of the corridor of food trucks. We ordered the 2 meat baked potato with asada steak and shrimp! Tons of flavor! The shrimp is seasoned well and plump! The steak is cooked with a nice sear and soft! The potato comes with sour cream, cheese, salt/pepper, green onions and jalepeno! (We were splitting with our little one and the tiny slivers of spicy peppers caught us off gaurd-next time we will skip the jalepenos!) My husband got a three meat potato and I have to say, it's worth it, for less than a dollar you get an extra scoop of protein-you can't beat the deal! If you're bringing the kiddos, come on the weekend where they have live music and a bounce house!

Everything was well seasoned and there's that many places in SJ that sell loaded baked potatoes. Portion size is kind of small for $17.

Delicious! Came her specifically for the loaded baked potato! I've been craving potatoes and haven't had a good baked potato in a while! Found them on Instagram and knew I had to try them! I ordered double meat and added pico de gallo. So good! It was so loaded I barely made a dent in it! Are about 1/3 and took it home! Popped it in the air fryer later on and ate so good! A must try!

We came here for their soft opening this week, it is located inside a food truck hub spot with parking surrounding it. We ordered two of the three meat combo baked potato and ours had asada, shrimp, and bacon as toppings. It came with all the fixings and took about 15 minutes to come out. There are other toppings you can add, but we wanted to try by itself first. It was delicious and I love the concept of a hearty baked potato. I would definitely come back here.

My friend brought me here, and the prices were pretty reasonable. This spot is located at the grid, surrounded by a variety of other food trucks. I ordered their carne asada with shrimp. I wasn't expecting my plate to be so loaded. But they definitely didn't skimp on portions. The only downfall was the shrimp, it was pretty bland and could've used a lot more seasoning. But overall, I'd come back.

The food was good. Nice little spot for outside eating. The only issue we had was parking. There are no parking signs in the main street and parking next door is towed at your own risk. I think you would have to park down thw street and walk over.

Really good!!! I usually have really plain baked potatoes so this was very different but amazing. The triple meat made me full and normally I can eat a lot!!! Will be coming to try their burrito as well. I recommend checking it out!!!

This is why I'm fat. Food and portions are amazing. Cost is affordable. Friendly atmosphere and vibes. Fresh mango is the best we've ever had

Wow you really can't beat this price. It is LOADED with asada and shrimp, you can't even see the potato. It's a lot of food I would recommend sharing one

I tried the steak and shrimp baked potato. I can't really say it's worth $20, and social media is definitely hyping it up. The baked potato is huge, but the meat portion is kind of small.

Found this in my food tonight. Not sure what it is

I went downstairs (we were at Valley Medical Hospital) to get Ronnie since he wanted to come to visit Gavin, and so since we saw food trucks, we figured we should grab lunch. + Classic Chicken Sandwich for Gavin + Chicken Tenders and Fries for Ronnie + Nashville Hot Chicken for me (opted for spice level 5) Food did not take long at all. They accept cards. You don't have to tolerate/like spicy foods to enjoy a meal here. The chicken was not greasy and was crispy and juicy as well. Fortunately, a little after we devoured our meals (Gavin barely finished half of his), we were given the discharge approval since he was able to hop/use the walker and use the wheelchair. Different food trucks line up the drop-off area, convenient for staff and visitors to fuel up. It's never fun to be at the hospital. We ordered the Texas chicken sandwich and chicken strips. Portions were generous, and the sandwich was super tasty. The strips were fresh and flavorful, but be careful with the spice levels! We ordered level 1 and it was flaming hot. Even level 0 has a kick, so I'd recommend going one level lower than you normally would. The curly fries were also great. Overall, a solid 4/5. The only star off was for the spice-level calibration. Great food and portions, and we'll definitely be back!

It was pretty calm during the day and didn't seem to get a crazy amount of foot traffic, which I actually enjoyed because we were able to sit down, relax, eat, and enjoy the atmosphere without it feeling crowded. Between our food and drinks we spent around $46, so I would say it's moderately pricey, but everything we had was good. I had a birria taco from Mi Lindo Apatzingán, my husband got four tacos, and we also got rice and beans that we really enjoyed. Our food came out pretty quickly, definitely in less than 10 minutes. We also got sour apple drinks from Las Cherry's. The drinks took a little longer, over 10 minutes, but there was only one girl working at the time, so it was completely understandable. The drinks were refreshing and I definitely want to come back and try more of what Las Cherry's has to offer. I really like the whole concept here because there are so many different food trucks in one place. There's plenty of covered outdoor seating, TVs to watch while you eat, and colorful decorations that make it a fun but still calm and chill place to hang out. Even with some of the trucks being closed, there were still plenty of options. I would definitely come back, especially to try more from Las Cherry's and the potato food truck that caught my eye!

Whenever I'd hear about a food truck back in the day, the first thing that would come to mind is prepackaged food. However, those days are long gone! These food trucks are now capable of whipping up gourmet meals that could potentially rival any local sit down restaurant. At this particular location, the trucks only come out on Friday night, with 9-11 different trucks to choose from. They also provide live music and fun games for the family. They do provide 5 gallon buckets that are used for seats, and a couple of planks/boards that can be used as tables while you are scarfing down your food. Some folks just bring their own chairs, as those buckets eventually make your ass pretty sore. It doesn't get any better than that. ***Minus 1 Star for some of the ridiculous prices***

This was my very first visit to El Halal Mexican Restaurant in the heart of downtown Willow Glen,…read moreand I've been wanting to stop by for a while. I finally decided to give it a try after hearing about the restaurant from food reviewer Dave fiore text. As someone who absolutely loves tacos and is always on the hunt for great local taco spots, I was excited to see how this place compared to some of my favorites. I ordered four different tacos, and overall, they were pretty good. They weren't bad by any means, but they also didn't quite blow me away. The meat was cooked well, the tortillas were fresh, and the tacos had good flavor. The salsa was decent too, although I personally prefer something with a little more kick. Everyone has different tastes, so this is just my opinion. One thing I really appreciated was how clean and organized the restaurant was. You can tell they take pride in keeping the dining area nice and welcoming. The staff was friendly, and my food came out quickly. It's always a good sign when a restaurant pays attention to both cleanliness and customer service. I've eaten at a lot of taco places throughout the Bay Area, so I naturally compare every new place to some of my favorites. While El Halal Mexican Restaurant didn't make the top of my list, I still had a good experience and I'm glad I finally gave it a shot. Not every restaurant has to be your favorite to be worth visiting. I also like supporting family-owned businesses because I know how much hard work goes into running a local restaurant. They deserve credit for creating a clean, welcoming place and serving quality food. Will I come back? Maybe. If I do, I'd probably try something different on the menu instead of the tacos. Sometimes a restaurant's best dish isn't the first thing you order, and I'd be interested in seeing what else they have to offer. Overall, I'd give El Halal Mexican Restaurant a solid 4 out of 5 stars. It was a good experience, I'm happy I finally got to try it, and if you're in the Willow Glen area, it's worth stopping by and deciding for yourself.
