I was excited to see Shrimp'n Ain't Easy back for Gordon Biersch Night Markets for Summer 2026. Their Chop Cheese and Cheesesteak are still my favorite menu items, with juicy shrimp and crispy meat in each bite. Sometimes they provide green tomatillo sauce on top of the traditional orange sauce, which is great for cutting through the grease and cheese as it's tangy and sweet. We tried the Magnolia Chop for the first time and while this was great too, the hot link makes everything slightly saltier than I'm used to and is much more heavy and filling. I'll stick with the cheesesteak or chop cheese next time but will try more of their menu items going forward. Food arrives quickly even during the crowds and long lines at the night market. I've never waited more than 35 minutes combined for both the line to order and being called for our number to pick up our food. read more

Really insanely tasty and decadent seafood tacos, hard to believe it's from a food truck. I just tried their Crab Taco and it's my favorite item now. Very generous with the crab and huge succulent shrimp. Super cheesy too. I'm actually glad it's not also vampiro style. Whatever you order, be ready for the cheese, because they are super loaded, and luckily I love both cheese and seafood. I will start off by saying they had excellent customer service. I ordered a chopped cheese ($20) and cheesesteak ($22). They do have steak and shrimp but i felt that was a little overpriced. They were not loaded up as much as they could be. The cheesesteak was flavorful better than the original chopped cheese. Hit the food truck at the San Jose Cinco de Mayo car show. Super fast and hot. Excellent presentation and absolutely delicious. I could eat these seven days a week. Tortilla had cheese grilled on it. Finally got to try Shrimp'n Ain't Eazy after seeing it all over my feed! I was craving something cheesy so I went for the Super Chicken Quesadilla and it definitely satisfied all my cravings. Silly enough to say, I'm not a huge seafood person or a fan of shrimp but my quesadilla was loaded with shrimp and I enjoyed it. They definitely gave a generous amount of both well seasoned shrimp and chicken. In every bite, the cheese was just oozing out and I got the best of both worlds. I loved the melty cheese pull. The sauces were delicious and well paired with the quesadilla as well. The portion was huge and well worth the price. There was a long line since this food truck is quite popular but service is quick and efficient. My food was ready in less than 10 minutes and came out piping hot. Grabbed dinner at this food truck during Berryessa Night Market's "Say Cheese! Street Feast" this past Friday. About 8-10 food vendors selling creative, melty gooey menu items, including birria grilled cheese and cheesy loaded baked potatoes. Got the chopped cheese sandwich from Shrimp'n Ain't Eazy, a delicious sub filled with a mix of plump and juicy shrimp, crumbled beef patty, veggies, yummy seasoning, and lots of stretchy cheesy goodness. Truly a unique and tasty concoction, so massive it has to be served wrapped in foil, then placed inside a food container. I was definitely impressed and satisfied with the chopped cheese, the most expensive item on this food truck's menu. Yet it's the crabby taco they sold out of less than 2 hours into the event... I see that as a good sign, multiple popular dishes, gotta try that next time. Also, efficient service, hardly any waits, and plenty of seating at Garden at the Flea. The food from this Chef is so good. He does not skimp on the fillings and sauces. It may be a little on the pricey side, but it's not bad considering what you get. I can totally get behind paying higher prices when the Chef can deliver, and they are generous like these guys are. Every item we have tried has been a huge portion and delicious. The Hotboy is huge and tasty. Cream cheese with a hot dog? I never knew I needed this in my life. It was creamy and saucy, and the savory hot dog with the slightly sweet sauce that's on the side just balances all of the flavors out. The Shrimpadilla is huge as well. It is packed full of cheese, chorizo, and shrimp. The seasoning on the shrimp makes them so flavorful. I could just eat a bowl of the shrimp with the way he makes them and be happy. This also pairs well with the slightly sweet and spicy sauce. We have ordered from here 3 times now and not one item has been disappointing. This is definitely worth trying. read more

Let me tell you something, everything was great from the staff to the food to the wait time. Ordered the Vampiro taco with chorizo and cheese and that was a fantastic starter. We went to a pop up off of Tully Road in San Jose. We ordered the three Vampiro tacos for our drive back to Monterey. The tacos were large, crunchy and stuffed with flavorful chorizo, massive shrimp, pickled onions, light cheese, cilantro and a beautifully spicy salsa on the side! Every bite was delicious and everything you can ask for in a shrimp taco. We were very satisfied and happy we came. Next time we hope to try their other dishes. Gian, the owner, is awesome and clearly has a pulse on Bay Area food tastes and flavor. I heard they were also featured on Check Please! That's quite a feat and speaks for itself. Finally getting around to do this review on one of my favorite food trucks here in my hometown. The owner of Shrimp'n Ain't Eazy is an East San Jose native, which is where he's located. Coming from someone that's from the same neighborhood, it's always a special feeling seeing somebody that grew up close to home thrive. It's a Bay Area trait to have some hustle, but it's a true San Jose thing to give back and pay tribute to your community. I've seen the truck posted at the Mt. Pleasant Shopping Center and Hillview Park. The owner does lil pop ups around town for social events at times, as well. He's the one that's taken my orders the times I've gone and is a chill dude. It takes a minute for the food to be prepared, but it's usually just him and one other person that helps make the food and takes orders so just be patient. The food is worth it. He's known for his shrimp and chorizo taco, which I actually never had yet, but I did try the vampiro tacos (which I remember being full off of and hella good) and also the chopped cheese. I never had chopped cheese before until trying it from here and let me just say, chopped cheese with shrimp??... As someone who loves shrimp, this was a game changer. A great component to the chopped cheese. Plus his orange sauce just made everything on point. I never been to New York before and always heard about their chopped cheese, so it's a win to have something close to home whenever I'm craving that. read more

Was at Narrative Fermentations when I saw the truck outside. Decided to give them a try since the line didn't look too long. Boy was I wrong because the line took 1.5 hours!!!! Which is stupid ridiculous for a food truck. It looks like they only have one guy cooking, one girl at the register, and one girl doing the packaging. I really didn't anticipate waiting so long. They only take a couple orders and then stop the ordering until the cook can finish the orders. We ordered the suadero taco ($10) and the chopped cheese ($18). They are a pop-up and show up all over San Jose and San Francisco in different locations, they are also very popular and sell-out within a couple hours so count yourself lucky if you catch them and can try their food. "Street food for the Streets" is their tagline and I loved seeing the food + street culture fusion in their booth, graphic design, music, and demeanor: 100% authentic. I follow their IG and saw a post about the 1PM, Saturday @  Bakesto Park in N. San Jose and went there around 3 after my baby was done napping. By this time the shrimp quesadilla was already sold out but they had Vampiros. The shrimp and chorizo combo is a definite winner and I liked how they garnished and plated them, a really nice presentation. The cheese griddle layer was a tiny bit too thick making it hard to fold up, tasty but heavy meal I would save as a cheat-day treat every couple weeks. Keep in mind these are made to order and it can take 20-30 minutes to get your order depending on how backed up they are. They take venmo and cash. Believe the rumors, this is it - best chopped cheese in the bay area! I'm not a huge shrimp fan so I was a little concerned, but when I heard that they were in town for one day at Narrative Fermentations, I had to check it out. Chopped cheese, overall a 9.5/10 (and I don't give that easily). The shrimp n lobster tacos a 7/10, nothing exceptional. It was a food truck so we got seating inside the brewery, but no ambience from the truck itself. Service was friendly, took a little while, but we didn't mind as we could tell everything about it is fresh. Game changing taco. My partner and I were on a casual drive home and noticed a food truck called, "Shrimpin' aint easy". The logo is a shrimp dressed as a pimp. We make a U-Turn and head back cuz this of course requires a stop. This is their crabby shrimp taco. The outer shell is griddle crisped cheese. It's hard to tell but under the shrimp is a layer of lump meat crab! Phenomenal. We also tried the shrimp and chorizo taco and the garlic noodles. Both were outstanding.
