    LUNCH!

Bakeries like this are hard to find these days. So many delicious and beautifully decorated desserts. All made on the premises. I enjoyed a cup of coffee with my spinach mushroom quiche. A opted for a small tart to satisfy my sweet tooth. I'm definitely coming back to purchase a cake or pie for a dinner party in the future. The young women behind the counter was friendly. It's self serve otherwise.

Walking into this place makes me want to come back and try every single thing in the display cases. We came in before a concert to get a quick treat and were instantly hit with choice paralysis because there are so many incredible options here! Staff was quick, polite, and efficient getting us our slice of strawberry orange cheesecake and raspberry petite fleur to go. Highly recommend this spot.

Get the breakfast sandwich on a croissant. That is my primary recommendation to you. If you stop there for breakfast as I did on Saturday morning, get the breakfast sandwich on a croissant. If you enjoy croissants, you will enjoy these crispy, flaky, buttery masterpieces of baking goodness. Coffee was great. Been here many times for the actual pastries and baked goods, never disappointed. Staff was great. On the ball and handling a busy morning like pros. Lewiston isn't a big place and there aren't a ton of options for breakfast on a Saturday morning, so it's good to see VBS takes it seriously and strives to be a quality option.

Passed by on a Monday evening. Got some of the delicious cookies they have at the last glass counter . Lemon ricotta. Cranberry Chocolate chip Sugar free peanut butter. Italian cookies. Many more I forgot. Cupcakes. Cake in a cup. Cookies. Quiches. Grilled Cheeses

In order from top left: Peanut Butter, Espresso and Apple Crumb. You can't go wrong!

Welcoming staff, beautiful, and clean bakery with lovely shaded seating out front! The Peanut Butter pie is only served here and in heaven! And the Strawberry Rhubarb pie is the best I ever had, please don't tell my mom or sister I said that!

Although pricey, they have delicious baked goods along with a small menu for breakfast and lunch. Staff is always warm and welcoming.

Service was great. Nice space inside with a cool chair outside for pictures. Husband had the spinach & cheese quiche which was very good . Cookies were okay not too sweet. Wish I had tried the mile high pie instead of the cookies. Next time!

Cookies looked amazing. Extremely happy with the appearance. I'm sure it took a lot of hard work to make them look that good!!!! Thank you for all your hard work

A cute place to stop for breakfast, lunch or a little treat. I love the patio seating in front. There's also a small parking area in the back if center street is busy.

I don't come here often because it is out of my way but when I do, it is always a treat! The inside of the shop is super cute and cozy. I've mostly had their cakes and cupcakes and they are sooo delicious! The last time I was here, I ordered a birthday cake for my friend. It was a hefty $65 for a 9 inch cake but when I picked it up and tasted it, I knew it was worth every penny. I ordered a white cake with raspberry jam. The cake was very moist. The cake was also very THICK with three layers. After we cut the cake, the remaining cake did topple over because it was so thick. But honestly, that isn't something to complain about. The employees at the counter are always friendly too. I can't wait to come back to pick up some Valentine treats next month :)

I've driven down Center St in the Village of Lewiston a million times, never realized that this speciality, incredible bakery was located in the heart village. This bakery is a one stop delight: cakes, cookies, speciality drinks, coffee, cake pops, macaroons, canonoli, cupcakes, and other delicious desserts. My selections were strawberry cake pop, and lemon mergine pie. Both were worth the money for a treat. The strawberry cake pop was thick, soft, right amount of cake batter and strawberry taste. The lemon mergine texture was well blended with the right amount of lemon zest/ tart ratio. The lemon taste was phenomenal, real, and authentic, not like the grocery stores version. If you find yourself looking for treat, and to support a local bakery with accommodating excellent customer service..give it a try you won't be sorry and quite impressed.

The cakes were so balanced between a light and airy cake and wonderfully flavored, not too sweet, fillings and icings. I have sensitive teeth so the fact I ate 4 slices without any problem really was great for me. Just the right amount of sugar to let the flavors pop. We ended up ordering a 2 tier cake and 2 1/2 sheets of cake for $400. What I believed to be a steal for that much wedding cake. Excellent experience. Both times we taste tested and came back to place the deposit, I ordered a croissant, 1 biscoff and 1 tiramisu custard. The croissants are the best I've had. The perfect texture and her spreads inside are amazing. Katya is wonderful and we really love her small bakery. Wishing her all the success she can handle.

The croissants are exceptional. Golden and flaky. And the fillings are where things get really special. We tried two but bought a variety, and each one has its own personality. We paired our croissants with a London Fog and a mocha, both solid. They also have fresh juices and water available, which is a nice touch. The cafe itself is clean, bright, and inviting. Parking had ample spots available. The staff were warm, friendly, and clearly take pride in what they serve and how they treat customers. It looks like they make custom cakes too. Bittersweet completely ruined a special event--and the owner couldn't care less…read more Let me save you the trouble: do NOT trust this place with anything important. I ordered a cake for a gender reveal two weeks in advance, gave very clear instructions, and yet they managed to mess up almost every part of it. This was my first time ordering from Bittersweet, and it will 100% be my last. If you care about your event even a little, go elsewhere. Strike 1: I was very specific about the pickup time--5 PM sharp. Time matters to me. I planned everything around that. When I arrived, the owner, Pavan, casually says, "Give me 10 minutes," and I end up waiting 17 minutes. No urgency. Just plain disregard. I might as well have been back in India with the way he dismissed punctuality. He gave me $7 off for being late Strike 2: When I placed the order, Pavan took notes and suggested various ideas, including our request for a heart-shaped cake. On the day? He handed me a plain round cake. When I asked why, his excuse was, "I don't have any notes about the shape." So either he lied about taking notes, or he just didn't care to follow them. Either way--unprofessional and careless. Strike 3--the ultimate failure: We had a clear gender reveal plan. We said, blueberry for a boy, strawberry for a girl, with corresponding colors. But when we cut the cake, the inside looked reddish. Everyone cheered thinking it was a girl--only for us to check the report later and find out it was actually a boy. The flavor was blueberry, but it looked red, and the colors were completely off. The moment was ruined. That's not a small mistake--that's a total disaster. I called the owner, and he admitted, "I should have checked before giving it to you." No kidding. But he didn't check because he was already rushing and behind schedule. Bottom line: this place is unreliable, careless, and lacks basic professionalism. If your event matters at all, don't take chances with Bittersweet. They might smile when taking your order, but they clearly don't care about getting it right when it counts.

The bakery is mostly a "pre-order and pickup" kind of a place but she does sell leftovers by the unit every week. The website and her Facebook page list what is up for grabs every week and you have to place an order at least the day before. When I walked into the place one Sunday, I tried one of her leftover ube mochi and was hooked. I decided to grab the entire Ube mix box for the next week and boy, am I glad! Everything is so divine, especially the ube tres leches cake and the ube almond croissant. The Tres leches was just moist enough and had that wonderful Ube flavor while the croissant was fresh, crisp on the outside, Soft on the inside. I also loved the Ube ensaimada (Filipino bread with cheese and ube jam). The other items like ube cookies and crinkle were pretty good too. I can confidently say that I'm gonna have to struggle to not go there every week!
