    $22 "vegetarian" fajitas
    Jason R.

I'm extremely disappointed!! I have been looking forward to trying this place for a while now, but I always put it off due to the prices. They are pretty high. Tonight, I tried to give it a go, and I was totally let down.... The first problem is I ordered vegetarian fajitas... FOR $22!! Seeing that it was $22, I expected a beautiful, large portion of a nice variety of vegetables. Instead, I got a small pile of peppers onions and an equally small portion of steak. A small portion of refried beans and a clump of Spanish rice. No tortillas. There are no toppings for the fajitas, like lettuce, tomatos, sour cream, or anything. NOTHING. I also got a stuffed chili relleno. Which was actually a mushy chili with cheese and multiple stems inside. Dipped in bread crumbs and pan-fried. Then it's smothered in what I can only describe as marinara sauce. Basically, it's a chili patty parmesaen. The only reason I gave it 2 stars was because the service was quick and arrived faster than expected. With all of the other amazing mexican restaurants close by, I definitely will not be returning...

The food was really good, my boyfriend and I wanted birra tacos so we saw this place on tik tok and decided to try it out lol. The service was also good, they were nice and can also speak english. It's a pretty bright pink inside and overall welcoming, although it's pretty hidden it's really good. Definitely recommend

I've been wanting to try this place for a while and finally got around to it. It did not disappoint! Although the menu had lots of great options I came for the Birria Gordita, it lived up to the hype I had heard. Excellent flavor, great portion, and lots of good salsas on the side. I'm stoked it's so close to me, I'll be back for more soon.

Food was delicious. I order taco de chicharrón and taco de carnitas they were served up just right with tasty red and green. Also, ordered gordibuenas which are served birria style with consomé. Perfection. Service was friendly and helpful. They made me a delicious michelada. I would definitely return.

This is a good Mexican restaurant I have dined at in Northglenn back from June to August 2023. I ordered plates with shrimp and carne asada (chopped steak). The plates came with corn tortillas, refried beans, rice, shredded lettuce, and pico de gallo. I thought the chopped steak and shrimp were high quality, and I enjoyed their cooked-in sauces. The refried beans and rice were good. The corn tortillas were warm and fresh. The chips and salsa were good. However, I thought the guacamole could have been better. It had too much lime juice, cilantro, and tomatoes. It was also too loose. The service was good however. The food was delivered fast. The interior was like a bar with limited tables for dining. The place was pretty small. This is good Mexican food, but I have found better restaurants in other places. For the Denver area though, this is the best Mexican food I have eaten.

Birria Taco is phenomenal, and came recommended by the host , perfectly cooked beef , melted cheese , onions , cilantro alone they are so tasty . Then you dip them into the consume Savory flavored soup with a hint of spice ! If you're local and you haven't tried , you are missing out . This is the local birria headquarters. And if you've never even had one Of these kind of tacos yet catch up , it's 2022 and this is your invite ! - @CallMeBroox

There was a bug in my food placed an order through grub hub and when i opened the taco and was looking i was something that was clearly cut with a knife and cooked with the meat BEWARE

A MUST! Authentic, Chic, Mexican hold in the wall. I wish I knew this place was here sooner! Food and beverages are great. Aguas weren't to my liking, but everything else was top quality. Generous portions. Smaller space, but it's worth it!

I have been searching for good Mexican food since I moved to Colorado three years ago I'm originally from Texas and I've also live in California and I just know good mexican food and this place is it. I ordered the birria ramen which came with three crispy tacos filled with cheese for dunking in the soup. They were super delicious . I also ordered the birria tacos and the consumme was very flavorful the meat with seasoned perfectly as well. I also ordered a side of rice and beans, and that was literally the most flavorful rice and beans. I've tasted in a while. I highly recommend this place check it out! this is my new go to as far as the other reviews not sure what's going on there. this place also had Latin music playing on the speakers it definitely was a vibe in there.

Very unassuming, AMAZING spot. Tucked away in the corner of a shopping center, La Patrona is a secret joint for the BEST Mexican food in a subdued atmosphere. All the staff were incredibly kind, offered up recommendations, and ensured we had good service. The FOOD though IS NEXT LEVEL. My partner and I shared quesa birria tacos and gordibuenas - both with consomé. The portions are excellent! Free chips and salsa! Cant wait to go back and try their soups!

Decided to stop in at La Patrona after some raving reviews. The service was friendly but we had to wait a bit although they had some open tables. The ambiance was good but the music could have been a tad bit lower to talk to our people in the table. I believe they had staffing issues but the food did not disappoint. We ordered flautas, birria tacos, some margaritas, and costillitas en chile verde, YUM!!! Sooo good. Highly coming back to try the next item on the menu. Great staff!!!

I was looking for a local and really authentic Mexican food place to eat for my husband and I. We decided to give La Patrona a try. Although we were hesitant due to the location and the lack of cars outside, we gave it a chance! It was one of the best experiences we have ever had in the Denver area. The food was phenomenal, the service was top notch and the entire experience was very fast! I absolutely recommend their Birria combos! So so so good! We will be coming back again very soon! Especially for their mimosa towers!

Quesa Birria Tacos 10/10 can't wait to go back!

The sweet potato still my favorite dish, but I hand to day the queso funfido from the happy hour menu was a close 2nd. If you go 2-5pm, I can't recommend this enough. You have to get it. Same as my 1st time going, I love this restaurant for their great dishes and flavor profiles. I absolutely feel like I'm paying for the food, and not any atmosphere or showsmenship, which for me is an important factor when recommending a restaurant. Only small detail, we got the ceviche as our 4th dish. Given that is sweet due to the coconut milk, I feel this should have been last as a kind-of desert-like dish. Either way, still an absolute gem and must in town

The quality has never slipped and every menu change feels exciting and somehow even better than the last. The standouts are always the scallops and the sweet potato! Not ashamed to say I think about these two dishes all the time... And whatever fish they feature as a main is consistently incredible (it's been halibut recently). The chef's counter is hands-down the best experience. It's intimate and such a fun way to interact with the chefs. Also love that they offer an NA sparkling rosé! This is honestly pretty rare. This place deserves every bit of recognition and praise it gets. One of the most consistently exceptional dining experiences in Denver!!

The food was delicious! We got $2 chips and salsa off the happy hour menu and the queso con soyrizo (not on HH menu) which was served with warm tortillas. Honestly we probably didn't need all that because the tacos were so good I could've just filled up on more of the tacos, but still was a great meal! I ordered the lengua, pastor, and taco special (breaded shrimp). They were all so good. Think taco quality of a good street taco spot but with the ambiance of a cute tex mex bar. The bartender was great and made a solid marg ($8 on happy hour). You get a great deal on taco Tuesday but I'm sure you'd get great service and quality any day of the week!

Good meal but a lot of work and hassle!…read more Very limited parking. Left side of the building are a few parking spots shared by several businesses. Good luck getting a spot. Then you are driving the neighborhood hoping to find a spot. Finally parked and walked to the restaurant. Host told me it would be 30 minutes but the actual wait was 50 minutes. Spend so much time parking and then waiting, at what point do you give up and leave empty handed? Restaurant is VERY LOUD. Finally got a table and ordered OFF MENU. Server agreed to substitute shrimp for my enchiladas and they were good! Fresh corn tortillas were the highlight. Ordered tres leches cake and enjoyed it too. Was a nice meal but just not worth all the hassle.
