Holy smokes, I'm so happy to have found this spot. What a local gem. Food is very yummy and special, the entire menu has something for everyone. Nut free, gluten free is rare. This place is a hit. Try one of each and everything. I love that the sweets are not too sweet, the bagels are fantastic. No matter what you try you won't be disappointed. It's one of those that maked you wanna come back for more. Good quality oils, chocolate was super yummy. I ordered a cinnamon bun latte and a matcha. Unfortunately both were a huge miss. My latte was not sweet at all despite all of the sugar and cold foam. I'm sure it was added to it. I love a creative, sugary creation but this just tasted like milk with (I hope) a splash of espresso. However, the look inside was so cozy, music was the perfect volume, and additional sugar, condiments, and napkins ( anything you might need) was stocked, clean, and readily accessible. The food was good--not anything special or out of the ordinary, but satisfying. The staff was okay. I didn't experience anything unpleasant, but they weren't the warmest or most welcoming I've seen. It felt a bit technical and nothing beyond that. It's a place I would come back to because of the convenience and how close it is to my gym, but it's not somewhere I would go out of my way for or describe as "wow." Hits all the right notes with Furikake, avocado, sweet potatoes, marinated cucumbers and pickled onions! The miso sauce brings an umami flavor that's savory and salty! The Shakshuka came piping hot in a cast iron skillet and crusty bread. This beloved breakfast dish with poached eggs is hearty, spicy and savory! The feta cheese adds a salty and tangy element. I always see this spot when I walk around the village in Topanga; and finally came here with a fellow yelper I got the cinnamon bun latte, but light on the cheesecake syrup because I don't like too much sweetness. A gluten free bakery... YES PLEASE!! I was overwhelmed by the options because let's be real people with a gluten allergy don't usual have many options! I met with my cousin who also is allergic to gluten here for lunch and yap. I got the coconut french toast dippers and she got the miso bowl, we both grabbed a raspberry matcha with oat milk. Everything was delicious and tasted great. I also grabbed a cinnamon roll to go, had it when I got home and will definitely be grabbing this again! I want to love this place, as someone who has to eat gluten free, I really do. I've given them so many chances because they started off great when they opened in 2023. The yeasted rugelach! The apple fritters! The thin mints! The bread! Not everything was a hit, but I still stopped here weekly back in those days. Sadly, things have gotten increasingly bad since then. After yesterday, I'm DONE overpaying for your sub-par baked goods. There were SO MANY FLIES and gnats hovering, landing and WALKING all over the pastries. For the love of god, PLEASE GET COVERS FOR YOUR DISPLAY CASES. Or get a fan. Or keep the doors closed. Seriously! My other gripes: Donuts are dense, stodgy, overcooked bricks. (Go to Sidecar for an excellent GF donut) Challah rolls are like hockey pucks. Everything is oddly heavy and DRY. Rugelach used to sell out! Now they don't. Enough said. Why buy Breadblok's recipes when you bought out the company, only to change them and make them WORSE? (croissants, monkey bread, baguettes) Why does your GF flour blend need to have pea flour in it? A lot of people who can't eat gluten also have sensitivities/allergies to other things like PEAS. You can easily bake delicious gluten free goods without it. I know because I do it all the time. You want how much for 6 small chocolate chip cookies that are mid at best?! (yep $24) My 8yo bakes better GF chocolate chip cookies. This is clearly a case of a company expanding too fast and not being able to maintain the original quality and consistency of their product and service. Not giving them anymore money. This place is wonderful, don't let the "gluten free" aspect keep you from some incredible baked goods and wonderful coffee drinks, I have no gluten restrictions on my diet at all yet I eat here regularly. The benedict is amazing, the bagels are the best to be had in the Westfield Village, and the service is outstanding. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. This is a great breakfast or brunch spot. Both the indoor and outdoor seating areas are charming and rustic, the times I've been it hasn't been too crowded, never had a problem finding a seat. Honestly, this place is extremely overrated. I've tried multiple items like coffee, matcha, pastries, bagels, sandwiches, even straight espresso shots and EVERYTHING has been consistently disappointing. The only redeeming quality is the service, which is genuinely good. Prices are slightly elevated, which is understandable given the Topanga Village location, but the quality doesn't justify the cost. There is free water station where you can refill your water bottles that I appreciate. I work nearby and have unfortunately returned a few times as a last resort for lunch, hoping it would improve. My friend and I just tried this place, and the ambiance is honestly what pulled us in. It's very aesthetic, cute, and has such a nice overall vibe. The service was good as well basically you order at the cashier, get a number, and they bring the food to your table. They also have a water station, which was a nice touch and appreciated As for the food, it was alright like it's nothing terrible, but nothing that wowed me either. I probably wouldn't order what we got again. The Avo Sunrise Toast is served on sourdough, and it was very hard to cut through. The amount of peas on top was also a bit overwhelming for my taste, so that one's a pass for me. I ordered the Avo Smoke (basically avocado toast with smoked salmon), and the salmon tasted a little too fishy and felt like it was missing something flavor wise. The presentation, though 10/10. We also tried the potato taters. They were very crispy, which I liked, but again the flavor combination felt a little off. The one thing that absolutely WON me over was the zucchini double chocolate bread. So, so delicious and it doesn't taste like zucchini at all. I believe it's sugar-free and maybe vegan (I can't remember exactly what the label said), but it was easily the highlight of the visit. The bad: time to get helped at the register, time to receive your food, and miscommunication on how the menu is written. Menu needs to be placed outside or available before standing at the register. Myself and others take a long time to decide when you only see the menu at the register vs prior. It took 15 minutes for a non cooked bagel to be delivered to me, and the cake I ordered was the wrong one. Also if I'm asked what kind of cream cheese I want, and I'm not told there's an upgrade charge then I don't know it cost more.
