Pistachio sansrival (served at Manila Inasal)
    Anna K. S.

Is it good stuff? Yeah, it's sooooo good! Located in the warehouse with small restaurant takeout businesses in Chatsworth, where you can pick up or have it delivered. They offer by-the-piece slices of sansrival in individual containers. I discovered their sansrival at a Filipino restaurant in LA called Manila Inasal. We loved it! And fortunately for me I got to taste it again because their bake shop is not far from my house. However..... in my opinion, the slices are priced a bit higher than I can appreciate. They don't have a brick and mortar place where you can sit and eat. It's a kitchen where you walk up to pick up your order. So why are the prices similar to Cheesecake Factory slices where they have a full service restaurant and staff to justify the overhead costs? Just wondering...

I love this place so much, my family always gets their pistachio cake and all obsessed with it. Trish was super sweet and she even threw in a few free samples of stuff I haven't tried yet. Overall 10/10 experience

This place parking is no bueno and a little hard to find the suite. The price has gone up since I last ordered my total was almost 80 for once pistachio sans rival cake. I don't mind supporting small businesses. The lady was so nice when I went to pick up. These cakes are special for occasions. We call it the crunchy cake. I highly recommend if you want to try something new.

Sweetest most humble owners! Place is in a ghost kitchen in Chatsworth with limited parking. Tried the SE & birthday sans rivals and they were DIVINE. The Ube brownies were also a great hit at the family party. A bit pricey but overall so with the splurge :)

Their Sans Rival cake is fantastic. It's probably one of the best sans rival I have had I my opinion. Considered that I'm not desert fan. We got their best seller which was the Pistachio Sans Rival. The best part that it wasn't to sweet. It perfect. The whole cake was $70. Not sure if that was a expensive or not but it was pretty worth it to me. They also sell by the slices, half and half different flavors cake or whole cakes. They have different flavors of sans rival cake to pick from as well. Service was friendly and quick. They have a private parking lot shared with other food stall at this location. Until our next visit.

    Look at that layers!!

This is hands down the best pistachio sans rival we've ever had! The layers are perfectly crisp and creamy, with a rich pistachio flavor and just the right sweetness. It's easily our family's favorite and never lasts long at home. Ubos agad! And of course, Huge thank you to Triz for always accommodating my last minute orders. You're amazing!

The best sansrival I have tried to date. We ordered the Se Thanks. The sansrival was beautifully made, the butter wasn't overpowering. You could really taste each flavor. The ube is definitely the best for me. It's so rare to find an authentic ube taste in LA. This one hit the spot. The pistachio and coffee were also flavorful. We ordered via text and was able to pick up without any problems. I would definitely recommend this place for any sansrival fix.

I got the half Ube half pistachio sans rival and it did not disappoint. Every bite was crunchy with the perfect texture and not soggy like others. The taste is unmatched with a buttery sweet delight. The service was great and I met Bless herself. This is not a sit down type of bakery, it's more of a pick up only type of vibe. I would suggest pre-ordering but they also have ready made items available.

i grew up LOVING sans rival and was so excited to find a local place that specialized in them. my family loves the pistachio one for family gatherings. keep it frozen if you'd like to enjoy it crunchy, and leave it in the fridge for a bit of chewiness! i personally like it a little chewy! it's nutty, perfectly sweet, and airy! it's a great alternative to a heavy cake. i brought it for thanksgiving and decided to add on a box of ube brownies to try. omg it is a MUST HAVE. the entire family was already planning to order more for Christmas. the flavor of the ube isn't artificial and its was just sooooo good. perfect bite size pieces , but dangerous because i would probably be able to eat a whole pack myself! that's how good they are! i looked over the website and found that they have many other flavors and the sans rival is also customizable. it makes me excited to go back! i definitely recommend to order ahead online for a smooth and easy pickup.

Hands down, the best pistachio and Ube sans rival in town. Always a crowd pleaser and great for parties and potlucks as everyone looks forward to getting a slice or 2. It's a cake to go only and order in advance online. It's a ghost kitchen so pick ups only. My favorite sans rival, the best so far! A crowd pleaser a must try!

I finally tried the 1/4 size Dubai Sans rival cake its so good the version of Filipino desserts cake made of layers of buttercream, meringue and chopped cashews, pistachios, service is quick if you call a head, I used to pick it up at balboa but there's a new location in Canoga Park it's like an industrial. Ambiance with parking.

    Overload box of mixed brownies.

The staff were very kind and informative about dessert temperature storing. I love trying new places in our community and finally made it here. I got a 4 type brownie mix box for a party. It was delicious. Not overpowering with sweetness. Just the right amount. I will definitely be coming back again.

The ice cream also had a buttery taste to it. It might have been from the toast, but I'm not too sure. The bread itself wasn't oily, which was nice, but it was kind of dry. The pandan sauce definitely helped make it easier to eat. I probably wouldn't eat the bread by itself though because it was super hard and didn't really have much flavor. I wasn't sure what to expect from the toast, but it wasn't quite what I expected. So we decided to come here for coffee or tea and ended up having a really nice time. I used to come here quite often about four years ago. Back then, I really liked their Einspänner and ordered it several times. But the last time I came, I thought it was way too sweet, so I hadn't been back since. It had actually been a REALLY long time since I last visited. And when I used to come here four years ago, I always came in the morning or around lunchtime. Last night was my first time ever coming here at night. My friend told us that they are open until midnight, so that's why we decided to come here after dinner. I had heard that parking here can be a nightmare because there aren't enough parking spaces and people have a hard time finding a spot. But once again, my parking luck was AMAZING! A car pulled out right in front of me just as I arrived, so I was able to park very easily. Another friend arrived later than I did, and she said she couldn't find a parking spot at all. She drove around for quite a while looking for one before finally finding street parking. Last night, we also had some tiramisu, and since I'm pretty sensitive to caffeine, I decided to have a caffeine-free ade instead of coffee or tea. It was a little sweet for my taste, but it was ok. We sat outside on the outdoor patio and talked and talked and talked. We had such a fun time together! However, it was actually pretty cold outside last night. I remember thinking that it felt surprisingly chilly. But what was even crazier was how FREEZING cold it was inside the café! They had the air conditioning turned up so high that both my friends and I felt like we were going to freeze to death. The restroom is inside, and I also went inside to get some water, so I mentioned to one of the male employees that it was freezing inside. He told me that they didn't feel cold at all because they were working, and that THEY were actually feeling really hot. I went back to our table and told my friends what he had said, and they were like, "WHAT?! We're freezing to death over here!" The parking lot here is actually pretty large, so I was wondering why it was so difficult to find a parking spot. Apparently, at night, the left side is the café, while on the right side there is a bar where people can drink and also play games. There was a huge line of people waiting outside the bar last night, so I'm guessing that's probably why the parking lot gets so crowded and it's hard to find a spot. It was also pretty chilly outside last night because of the low temperature, so one thing I wished they had on the outdoor patio was heaters. That would have made sitting outside much more comfortable on a cold night.

The barista was super helpful with explaining what each drink was, didn't steer us in any direction though. The Houjicha shaved ice was the standout. Houjicha is a toasted green tea, and the flavor is a little difficult to describe--it has a warm, grainy, almost wheat-like taste that's very different from traditional green tea. At first, it can seem like an unusual flavor, but don't give up on it. Once you add the syrup they serve on the side and keep eating, it really grows on you. It somehow gets better with every bite, and before you know it, you can't stop eating it. The Iced Brown Sugar Miso Latte wasn't exactly what I was in the mood for, but it was still well made. It had a nice balance of umami and sweetness without either flavor overpowering the other. While it wasn't my personal favorite, I'd still recommend it if you're looking to try something a little different. Overall, Anko is a great spot if you're looking for unique Japanese-inspired desserts and drinks in a calm, beautifully designed space.
