Went to this Columbian restaurant under the 7 train. They were fairly busy for a weekday lunch and they offered daily special for soup. I ordered the chicken potato one which was pretty tasty and ordered it as a combo which came with rice avocado and salad. The soup was tasty but compared to other Columbian restaurants- it was standard. However the portion was smaller than other places I've had and usually when I order it as a combo it comes with additional protein. My friend ordered a meat combo platter and it was the same comparison- portion size was smaller. I probably will not go here again cuz I know there are better quality And value Columbian restaurants in the area. read more

Food temperature was on point and although we were a large group (party of 11), the food came out quickly. Being generous with a 3 star review since the food is decent. But the service and decor/ambiance are kind of mid. Frankly sitting in there is just depressing and kind of noisy. Also they did not have whole or half chicken at dinner time, which meant I had to spend several dollars more than I expected to have a meal. The rest room was typically icky. The first Colombian restaurant to have vegetarian options on the menu, I was pleasantly surprised and it was a delight. We managed to get a seating during the FIFA quarterfinals and needless to say, we had such a good time at La Pequeña Colombia. Plenty of seating and right after getting seated we were offered Budweiser on the house, a token of appreciation by the restaurant in honor of the World Cup. The waiter good and friendly. The food was very flavorful and I really enjoyed my order of vegetarian dish. I recommend La Pequeña Colombia and will be back to try some of their other dishes. read more

Came here on a Saturday with a party of 5 at 5 PM. We were seated immediately. The service was good. For appetizers, we ordered the tostones with guacamole and chicharrón and the empanadas de pollo. The tostones were very bland and the chicharrón on it was really dry. The empanadas had more potato than pollo, which made it unbalanced. The salsa verde was too tangy and spicy. I ordered the mini Bandeja Montañera con carne asada. It was ok. Nothing on the Bandeja had flavor. It was very bland and everything tasted old and dry. I can't speak for what everyone else ordered, but everyone agreed that the food was very bland compared to other Colombian places we've been to. read more

This spot has become a bit overpriced like all the restaurants in Jackson heights but the food does not disappoint. I ordered their bandeja paisa with carne asada, an order of calamari and a sangria. The bandeja was delicious, the chicharrón was perfectly crispy, the beans were not too salty and the steak was a medium well. The calamari was crunchy and the hot sauce gave it a nice touch. Their drinks are honestly the best, they add little pieces of fruit into their sangria. The restaurant itself is very clean, not too bright and a nice environment. Delicious authentic Colombian food, there's a huge variety of traditional plates from seafood to fast food to the basics like bandeja paisa or ajiaco. Some soups are available only certain days so is best if you check first in case you are interested on a soup in particular, everything else is always available. Is not cheap but it's worth the price, portions are huge and everything was delicious, we had the jugo de mora (blackberry juice) sobrebarriga en salsa criolla (steak on tomato and onion sauce) it came with a side of beans and rice, very filling the beef was tender and delicious, we also ordered the bandeja paisa, everything in it was yummy specially the fried pork belly (chicharrón) would definitely recommend trying if you are looking for a taste of authentic Colombian food. Service was great and music too. Decor might not be the most beautiful but I guess this is more traditional family oriented restaurant. Could be a great place to watch soccer games as it has many tvs all over playing sports. Would recommend and would come back. We just went back to one of our old time favorite and the food did not disappoint. I haven't been in this place for over 7 years, we ordered almost the same thing and the flavor still there. Our waitress was super friendly and funny. She was engaging and make sure we got everything we needed. We ordered the bandeja dish, lengua I'm tomatoes sauce, pork chop with bone, tamales and morcilla(not on the menu). The food was super delicious just how we remembered this place. Portion was good, we even got to take some home. They were up front with the 4% charges in using credit card. The only thing that got to me was the photographer came around about taking pictures(thought it was included as souvenir of the restaurant) and was not upfront about the charges of $20 per picture with frame. I love coming to this restaurant. My parents have been coming here for over 20 years. It's such a great spot! The food is delicious and the bulldogs are the best. Bulldogs are the way to go and their speciality IMO. The margaritas are extremely sweet-not my favorite. The staff are always super friendly and always checking in if we are okay. The restaurant is spacious and modern inside. Really love coming here on any day. Previa al partido, el DJ puso música a un volumen demasiado alto. La razón? Solo tienen un parlante y el restaurante tiene forma de L. El parlante estaba intentando llegar a todos los rincones. Y nosotros tuvimos la mala suerte de estar cerca del parlante. El sonido era tal que ni los meseros nos escuchaban. El sonido siguió igual durante el partido, con el DJ poniendo sonidos a la vez del partido, algo innecesario con excepción a los goles. En las mesas alrededor de nosotros la gente empezó a usar servilletas en bolitas como tapones en los oídos. Nosotros pedimos que le bajara el volumen un poco pero no pasó. Viendo que tantos estábamos incómodos, el restaurante debió hacer algo. 2) un calor terrible. El restaurante o no tenía AC o no funcionaba. The look of the restaurant from the outside is very nice but the inside could use some renovations. We were sat in a very dark section which made it hard to see the menu. This is one of my favorite places to eat in Queens. Since, I no longer live near by it's a huge treat to come here. Due to Covid, limited outdoor seating is available. Everything on the menu is delicious. My favorite is the grilled chicken marinated in a lemon sauce. It is so flavorful. Yum!!! Funny story, the sky opened up and cried heavy teardrops in a matter of seconds our waitress came over with an umbrella. The rain was pouring down on us so hard. It. Was difficult not to get wet. According to what I read about this restaurant, people say it's either a hit or a miss. In my experience, it was a definite hit... Our waitress was extremely attentive, food was delicious and drinks were on fire! I had never been to a Colombian restaurant before, so when I was trying to decide what to order I couldn't make my mind for one plate specifically so I asked the waitress, she recommended their most popular dishes which are *Bandeja Paisa or Plato Montañero" and "Salteado de Carne con Camarones" so we went for those. I have to say, the amount of food they serve is IMPRESSIVE!! You can definitely feed an army, if they don't eat like I do, of course. Food was very tasteful, very well cooked, and dishes' presentation was good too. It was Happy Hour (which as usual goes from 4 - 8pm) so we decided to get some drinks as well. I ordered a *Frozen Sangria* and it was ON FIRE, literally. Usually, I am a heavy drinker. I had never gotten tipsy-happy-all laughs-no concerns whatsoever- with just one drink but goddamn, that one got me laughing like crazy. The amount of alcohol in that sangria was impressive, I had one and I couldn't order a second 'cause I'm pretty sure I'd had gotten drunk. A mile from the subway you will find PequenaColombia This place is the BOMB! Best Colombian food in the east coast (seriously) Every time I visit I stop by this restaurant. They have great customer service, the food is delicious. Keep in mind the plates (even the appetizers) are big. Everything I had here was good: the grilled pork chops (chuleta con hueso), rice and beans, sweet plantains, flan. I also had the triple chocolate cake because I wanted to share desserts with my companion. Of course the flan was much better, but the chocolate is not a bad choice if you're craving chocolate. I also had the blackberry juice, which was good, it seemed like they used real blackberries. I was a little surprised when she asked if I wanted it with milk or water, is that a Colombian thing? I chose water. Just a note, the dishes were huge, enough for two or three meals. I guess they are meant to be shared. Gargantuan entrée portions filled me throughout the day as the breaded boneless pork, Chuleta Apanada, were very good. La Pequeña Colombia is accomodating to my request of subsituting rice and beans with French Fries as I'm not crazy about beans. La Pequeña Colombia is kid friendly. The Sangria is tasty with just the right taste as it's not too strong or over-powering with alcohol. The exterior of this restaurant has a very fresh modern, clean look. I rate La Pequeña Colombia four stars as service is somewhat slow with insufficent wait staff as I was half-way of my entrée waiting for a glass of Sangria to arrive. I remember when the Plato Montanero was under $10 and that was WITH the carne asada...sadly no more. Took a day trip to NYC and my friend took me to this place. Before his family relocated to Seattle - this was his parents' spot!!! They are from Colombia, when they arrived in the States, they lived in NY for years but then raised their kids in Seattle.
