The food was really flavorful and delicious. The rice and beans was excellent. The meats were well made and large quantities. The service was friendly for the most part. There was one waitress who looked annoyed when we requested a few items extra. The food came very quickly and hot. The tipping was annoying. The suggested rate started at 18%. I was going to give 15% but the food was excellent so I gave them the 18%. The ambience was clean but loud (it is a Latin restaurant full of family and music). Overall very good experience and will return.

I stopped by here for lunch and the flavors were delicious! I ordered a passion fruit juice that tasted exactly like passionfruit. It was almost like a slushie which I appreciated. It was really refreshing and then I ordered 1/2 roasted chicken with rice and beans. The order also came with Maduros. The plantains were sweet and flavorful. I really considered ordering a side order. I also ordered the beef empanada and loved that it had potato in it with the beef. I would definitely go back. The portions were large. I had enough for lunch, dinner and lunch again. They have lots of seating inside and the service is pretty quick!

Food was amazing and the drinks were so good and strong! Everything was so delicious! Great service by Carolina, she was very attentive and sweet. She recommended the chorizos, and we loved it! :) Beautiful restaurant, great for girls night or date night. Loved it and will definitely return!

Food: 2/5 I've dined here a long time ago and I remembered it being delicious. I recently ordered for delivery and found it disappointing. My usual go to order is the Country/Mountain Platter because it has everything. For $20, I was a bit disappointed. I've had better for cheaper. Besides the monetary value (because I'd always pay for great food), the food was sub par and not what it used to be. The portion was huge but it lacked flavor. The rice and beans were bland and sort of watered down. The chicharron was crispy but dry and a bit rubbery. The beef was just ok. Nothing really special about it or any of it. The best part might have been the egg and avocado... Delivery: 4/5 Came within a reasonable time.

Since the doughnut planet Mardi Gras donut didn't fill me up, I had $7 in my pocket literally and no wallet on me. It became a cheap eats challenge! I went with a friend years ago to a Columbian restaurant in Sunnyside but I could never find it again. All I remember is the mango with milk drink which is delicious Guess what? The restaurant I stopped to look at for empanada is the one my friend took me too! There are 5 2-4 people seating on the left and 5 4-6 people seating on the right. Empanada - beef or chicken for $1.50 Mango with Milk (leche) is $3.75 Estimated cost: $5.25 - success! Actual cost: $5.99 (guessing tax 8.75% but it should be $5.71) Not going crazy for $0.28 when I am able to find cheap food that fills me up and makes my tummy happy. The mango drink didn't have the same strong mango flavor but still good. The empanada is even better than I remember (crispy crust and good filling). Have to try the chicken next time. There was a bit of a wait for the food so it gave me time to yelp. Didn't go to the restroom so can't comment. Metered parking in front and residential street parking on the side. Check the street signs. PS I liked it so much I went back for the tostones con guacamole and passion fruit with milk. The tostones are huge! Need a bit more guacamole since I over applied...so good. The passion fruit with milk is yummy.

Weekday night, looking to grab a meal with a friend that just moved to Sunnyside. At his request, he wanted to check out the nearest Colombian food joint because it happened to be their day of independence. He shared this place with me, and we agreed to grab dinner there. Really impressed! When I arrived, my friend already had a table for us. I noticed that the place maybe could fit 25 people at most, and there were about 10 people in there at the time. After being seated at the table and getting two nice cold glasses of water, we both took some time to plan out what we wanted to order. After arriving at a decision, we placed our orders and got the plates maybe 15 minutes afterwards. The meats were cooked in the authentic Colombian style, and the rice and beans tasted just like the ones you'd find in a traditional Colombian home. The differently cooked plantains we shared were both tasty in their own way. The portions, for the price points, were very reasonable. We both loved the food, and walked out of the place ready to grab some drinks! Definitely would go back to this place.

The food was delicious but service was pretty terrible. It took extremely long to get our drinks, we ordered a Hennycolada (which is on their cocktail menu) and were charged for a pina colada with a shot of Hennessy (totaling over $20 for the drink). Also they charged a fee for paying with credit card but did not tell us in advance.

The decor is fun and pays homage to Colombian culture which I appreciated. Their specials menu had an Iced Banana Latte which is totally up my alley so I decided to try it. I usually get a latte with a syrup and I assumed this was exactly that - a banana syrup. Unfortunately, it was more like a frappe where the espresso, banana, and milk was blended together. I think it's misleading to call it a latte as it wasn't what I was expecting. And for ~$9, I just expected more richness from the espresso but the milk was just overpowering. Even based on the appearance, it was very milky/foamy rather than coffee or banana-forward. If I find myself back here, I'll probably go for their classic coffees instead.

I say this as a fellow Colombian who understands that when people don't like something they choose to make things up. Especially about animals. The lady in the front claimed that my service dog ID was inadequate because I didn't have the one with his photo on it. I had all the other paperwork but due to not having the photo she chose to not only deny my entry but belittle my disability. If I were management I would fire her immediately. Their menu offers an array of dishes ranging from small bites to feast for the eyes and your belly. One dish or rather protein that is a focal point in their menu is chicken since they serve a lean cut of chicken breast or rotisserie chicken paired with rice and other sides. Do prepare your stomach to feast at this restaurant and your ears to listen to some lively music while dining. The servers are very sweet, attentive, and patient for first timer such as myself visiting this restaurant especially in this NYC heat. But I do speak Spanish and part of my family is from Colombia so it was a plus and flex for me since I got to connect more with them. Overall, this restaurant is ideal spot to dine at after visiting The Noguchi Museum. That's my personal recommendation since you get to feed the mind with art history then feed yourself with some delicious Colombian food.

The only…read morereason I return is because it's my grandmother's preferred restaurant since she lives nearby. We arrived around 6:20-6:30 p.m. There were plenty of open tables, but we weren't seated until much later. During that time, the male waiter seemed more concerned with other tasks. He was seating a woman whose party of six hadn't yet arrived, going back and forth to the kitchen, handing out receipts, and collecting menus. After all of that, he finally approached us--not to seat us--but to ask, "How long are you going to take?" I replied, "Sir, we're here to eat." He responded that the side tables were for people watching the game. I explained that we were there to dine, as this is a restaurant. Even after we were seated, he avoided our table completely. He took the order of a table that had been seated after us while we continued waiting. About 20 minutes later, a female waitress noticed we had not been helped and took over our table. She was attentive, professional, and the only reason we received service. After placing our order, we waited about an hour for our entrées. The food was also underwhelming. The Papa a la Huancaína came with an excessive amount of sauce and very few potatoes. The Ceviche Mixto lacked the bright citrus flavor that ceviche should have. My grandmother, who is very familiar with Peruvian cuisine, found it bland, and even after taking it home we couldn't improve it. The Bistec Encebollado was slightly too salty for our taste. The beans simply weren't to my liking, though that's a matter of personal preference. Another issue is the dining room layout. The seating is extremely tight, to the point where it feels like you're almost elbow-to-elbow with the tables next to you, making the experience feel cramped. Overall, this visit was disappointing. Between the slow and inattentive service, the long wait for food, the cramped seating, and several disappointing dishes, the experience did not justify the visit. The female waitress deserves recognition for stepping in when we had been overlooked, but unfortunately she couldn't make up for the rest of the experience.
