Strolling couples look happy, kids are having fun, the vendors are smiling, and all the dogs are wagging their tails. The food diversity is amazing here! We bought Mexican tamales, Indian samosas, Thai dumplings, Argentine chorizo, Venezuelan empanadas, and some good old American sourdough (probably the best we've ever tasted!), along with award winning honey, lots of fresh veggies, some gorgeous mushrooms, beef jerky, and some delicious cinnamon rolls. There were about 50 vendors last Saturday, a live guitarist and the cutest petting zoo. We will definitely be back here more often.

There were local vendors selling food to a pediatric dentistry giving out goodie bags to kids. You had to register online prior to the event on order to obtain a ticket for a free Pumpkin. Outside were food trucks for those who needed to wash down the beer. It's family friendly, animal friendly and group friendly. They had tables and chairs for the patrons and free water. Now, I can't forget the live music. It was great. The gentleman singing played some good blues music.

It was not a particularly busy day for the farmers market but we had a nice time strolling along and seeing the variety of produce, handmade pasta, baked goods, and other items for sale! We stopped by one booth for a sample which had packaged Indian curries that can be easily boiled as a meal for one. At $10 we found them rather steep, but quite tasty! There was also a dumpling booth that seemed quite popular. This is a nice farmers market perfect for a relaxed stroll on a Saturday! Very family-friendly and a nice mix of local Houston finds.

There's tons of free parking just around the corner in the large onsite parking garage. The market itself is well attended by farmers, bakers, butchers, artisans, plant enthusiasts, and the community. I've been to this market several times now and am constantly impressed with the wide variety of options. Some local favorites include the fresh farmer's produce, sourdough bread vendors, fresh flower vendors, vegan options (shout out to Prophecy Foods with amazing vegan cheeses), and the ready to eat bites like Dumpling Haus. All of the vendors take credit cards which is convenient in case you forgot to bring cash. There's often live music and a few small tables to sit and sample your bounty and just enjoy the fresh air. While you are not going to find the cheapest bargain here, it feels good to help support small businesses, take part in a community activity, and score some healthy foods for you and your family. Definitely worth a visit!

One can stock up on eggs, microgreens, fresh pastas, hummus/spreads, jams, meats, and even seafood here. For eats, acai bowls, leige waffles, bakeries, cookies (!!), tacos, empanadas, and refreshing pops were some nibbles available. There's a playground with some tables in the middle to sit down. There's a map at the entrance, but it's more fun to amble around and browse! A parking lot is available, but most people were parking in the neighborhoods (as directed by the signs). Most vendors took Apple Pay or Venmo, but bring cash just in case. Come early-- I went around 9:30 am, and some of the home bakeries were sold out of their popular goods!

Although it was a bit cold and windy out, it was still a good time. I was able to purchase coffee from the coffee truck, Argentinian empanadas, and a goat milk soap. Jonathon showed us to each vendor and described what each tent had to offer, how long the market had been around. The cooking demo was great. Chef Jazzy explained her background, being trained at the Culinary Institute of America. She demonstrated how to properly cut a pineapple, grill it, to bring out its natural sweetness. The king trumpet mushrooms were an alternative vegetarian to "scallops", everything prepared was delicious! This was such a great idea to use produce and seafood sourced from the market. I will try to return to this Farmer's Market to support the local businesses.
