Amazing wet torta have been coming here since I was a kid one of the best hidden gems here in la Habra

Carnitas tacos with soda in a mason jar

Great food, good tacos!! My boyfriend said the pozole was one of the best. I love that they serve their sodas in a mason jar too.... a nice big fat one, so you get a lot! Although my favorite is their tacos, the torta and the chilaquiles are also a couple things worth trying. Prices are definitely worth it and the chips and salsa are pretty delicious. We've only stopped by on a few random occasions and the food has been EXCELLENT each time. But we have taken it off our options because those ladies behind the counter (one is the owner too, I believe) are just totally rude and obvious about it. We don't want to stop you from going, and if you don't mind being treated like you are an inconvenience, the food is very much worth it. We won't be back.

This little spot has a few things going for it. The food is pretty much homemade quality. You want to taste something that abuela would of cooked up, the pick anything here. I've been here several times and never have walked away disappointed. Now for the challenges facing this place. CASH ONLY! Nowadays, this should not be happening. Secondly, there's no pride by ownership in the appearance of the place. The tables and chairs are authentically Mexican, but that's about it. The pictures for the menu are faded and the prices are not listed. Several add-ons are hand written as well. If ownership would invest in making the presentation more appealing, I guarantee it would help. The food won't disappoint, but the overall dining experience can certainly be improved.

I highly recommend this place! The food taste like home food. I've been here multiple times for breakfast and lunch, never been disappointed. Some chilaquiles and a hot coffee for breakfast is my favorite. The service is outstanding! I definitely recommend if you're in the area.

Torta Ahogada takes me back to Ciudad Guzman. The drowned sandwich does have a lil kick to it but the melon agua fresca helps. Coming back to for sure.

Finally I get to eat a great torta ahogada, the torta was superb, the crunchiness of the bread, plus the flavorful salsa combined all together was amazing. I also tried the tacos dorados, they were extremely delicious and a Jericalla for desert, my meal was completely satisfying.

Refreshing tejuino and a BOMB TORTA AHOGADA!!! I got half salsa half chile, my mouth was numb in a good way

The space was so aesthetically pleasing and incredibly vibey -- very Instagram-worthy without feeling overdone. The décor had gorgeous details everywhere, with greenery and hanging elements from the ceiling, warm lighting, and a layout that felt open and roomy while still cozy. You could tell a lot of love and effort went into designing the place. The food was delicious, the music was great, and the overall atmosphere made it such a nice spot to relax, hang out, and take it all in. It was one of those places where everything just worked -- the lighting, the vibe, the energy. We recently drove by and saw that it has closed permanently, which honestly made me really sad. It felt like they truly tried to create something special for the community, and it showed in the details. Grateful we got to experience it while it was open. It was a beautiful spot that will definitely be missed.

The food was delicious we ordered a little bit of everything so we can try and my favorite thing was the fried calamari. The waitress was very nice and she was helpful and very attentive. 10/10 would recommend also a great place to catch a Dodger game as they have plenty of TVs

Even though the restaurant is small and busy, we were seated right away, which was a great start. Our waiter Washington, was fantastic, friendly, attentive, and made our whole experience even better. The atmosphere was perfect too. They had music playing at just the right volume and a big TV showing the live Dodger game, which the kids loved. We started with chips and salsa. The salsa had the perfect level of spice for everyone at the table. The kids ordered horchatas and were excited about the unlimited refills (something you don't always see at other restaurants!). The drinks for the adults were just as impressive. My wife's watermelon margarita on the rocks was perfectly made. It was not overly sweet or syrupy like at some places. Our friends had the "El Jefe" margaritas, and they definitely didn't skimp on the tequila! For dinner, everything was a hit. The kids loved their meals. Albóndigas soup, shrimp tacos, and street tacos--all served with rice and beans. The adult dishes were just as good. The carne asada arrachera was cooked perfectly, the chile verde was full of flavor, and my chicken mole was delicious with a great balance of spicy and sweet without being overwhelming. The portions were very generous, and everything came with rice, beans, and both corn and flour tortillas. The only small thing I would've preferred differently was the chicken in my mole. I personally would've liked a leg and thigh instead of sliced chicken breast but the dish was still very good overall. What really stood out was the hospitality. At the end of the meal, Washington offered us "holy water"-house tequila shots on the house--and it wasn't cheap tequila either! Then after the bill came, he surprised us again with another round of "holy water". That level of generosity and care really impressed us. We also learned that the restaurant has been there 20+ years and is family-run by him and his siblings, which made the experience feel even more personal. You can tell they have a loyal customer base--one couple even said, "See you tomorrow Washington!" The only feedback we'd offer (coming from a customer service background) is that we noticed a few guests waiting at the entrance without being greeted, and one couple actually left the restaurant. A simple "Welcome, we'll be right with you" would go a long way. That said, it didn't take away from our experience. Overall, amazing food, great service, generous portions, and a welcoming family atmosphere. We will definitely be back to try more of their menu!
