If you are looking for an authentic homemade Mexican food, you gotta check out Casa Adelita. Just driving up the the restaurant was very welcoming. There are plenty of private parking lot. Once you open the door, the entire restaurant was packed with customers. There were plenty of servers whom greeted you and get you seated right away. Fresh warm chips and salsa were served right away. It was quite delicious that we ordered a second basket. I was amazed with the service because they came to check on us like every 10 mins. They were pleasant and very nice I am amazed on how much different entrees were on the menu. Everything we ordered came in a huge hot plate that could be shared for 2 people. We order the beef taco, enchiladas, and chili relleno. All the entrees come with rice and fried beans. I also liked that they don't put too much salt so you can add salt to your liking. I felt the prices were reasonable as well. For a party of 5, our total bill was about $80 which also included tax and tip. We also ended up taking 2 boxes of food to go. I have been meaning to stop here for years and I truly wish I decided not too. I ordered the chicken mole which was little more than a molasses like gravy poured over cooked chicken. It was not good at all. Also, charging $.50 for a side of sour cream is ridiculous. A small side of guacamole and sour cream should accompany most plates and this overcharge lost you customers more than the bad mole. We will not be back. read more

My family absolutely loves this restaurant. Its a rare gem in the city of La Habra. The beans are fantastic as well as the rice. I'm picky about Mexican rice and, but this one is delicious. The ranchera sauce is amazing. Its so good that I can drink it. I ask for a side of it with whatever I order. We stopped in this past weekend and my grandpa had huevos rancheros. My husband and I shared a 3 item combo with 2 hard shell tacos, and a chicken enchilada. Everything was wonderful. The chips and salsa are always fresh. ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING! I ordered pozole through DoorDash from this restaurant, and what I received was beyond unacceptable. The small container of chili powder they provided was crawling with tiny insects. It was revolting to even think this was meant to be consumed. When I called the restaurant to let them know, I was put on hold for over seven minutes. I eventually had to hang up. I tried calling again for the next 3-5 minutes, but the line was constantly busy. When I finally got through, the woman who answered acted like it was no big deal -- completely undermining what I was saying, as if finding bugs in your food is somehow normal. This was one of the most disgusting and disappointing food experiences I've ever had. Between the unsafe food, the lack of urgency, and the dismissive customer service, I will never be ordering from here again. read more

The service was poor and cold. I felt like we were a bother as we asked to be served. When the server did come, they would be on the way out without asking for anything else. The servers were behind the counter socializing more than they were out on the floor. Not sure if there was something that happened to the restaurant staff as they were crying. Anyway, won't be going back to this place. I hope the owner reminds the staff that our dollars are getting harder to come by and when we spend money, we should be rewarded by the choices we make. The food was hot and [mostly] delicious. I ordered the chicken enchiladas and unfortunately, had to keep spitting out a few very small bones and cartilage :( The flavor was good but having to chew cautiously was a little annoying. Otherwise, I would've inhaled them! I also really wanted to love the champurrado, but couldn't put my finger on why it didn't slap -- until I realized it tasted like an artificial fall/pumpkin candle. I will say the relleno was tough to cut through and eat. Needed to be cooked longer? Giant bowl of pozole with extra hominy. The meat is super tender and not fatty! We love going to Casa Adelita. They have the FRIENDLIEST STAFF and clean atmosphere. We usually get their Cheese Enchilada and their Chicken Burrito. Amazing!!! Their chips and salsa is yummy, not spicy and tastes good. I also enjoy getting their Shrimp Cocktail. The Shrimp Cocktail is Mexican style and the medium is really big for 1 person, and I like to eat. The salsa was moderately spicy and tasted great. The chips were just ok. Ordered a one beef taco plate and found the beef to be super soft and flavorful in spite of being inside a meh hard shell corn tortilla. Not sure what they're using for their hard shelled taco shells but they're just not quite sturdy enough. Toppings, rice and beans were great. Service was could not have been better. Servers brought out food quickly and all items were accurate, hot and delicious. Asked for refills on chips, was offered drink refills w/o having to ask.
