For my entree I had the Navajo taco which was a giant fry bread topped with red chile beef, beans, cheese, tomatoes, lettuce, and chipotle aioli. This was a true masterpiece of flavors. The fry bread was like a savory funnel cake flavor. Crunchy exterior and fluffy cloud like interior. The beef was melt in your mouth tender. My wife had hers with ground beef, potato, and green chile. They had a lot of different protein choices. Should have stopped at this point but they had a pumpkin pie filling stuffed sopapilla. It was made to order so it took awhile and came out steaming hot. It was served with two scoops of ice cream so it's perfect for sharing. It was pure heaven and we devoured it. We ordered four platters: two sampler platters, a taco platter, and a burrito platter, plus extra rice and beans. Depending on the platter, they also came with chips and salsa, rice and beans, and salad. There was plenty of variety for our group, and the food was wonderful -- authentic, flavorful Mexican food, not the typical chain-restaurant version. The staff was fantastic from beginning to end. It was easy to place our large order over the phone, everything was ready right on time, and it was packaged extremely well for us to transport back to the hotel. Our team loved the meal, and I would absolutely recommend Harbor Mexican Cafe whether you're stopping in to eat at their small restaurant or ordering food for a group or event. In fact, I enjoyed it so much that I stopped by again on my way home today to grab a to-go order for myself to enjoy when I get home! Great food, great staff, and a wonderful experience all around. At the end of the meal, Washington offered us "holy water"-house tequila shots on the house--and it wasn't cheap tequila either! Then after the bill came, he surprised us again with another round of "holy water". That level of generosity and care really impressed us. We also learned that the restaurant has been there 20+ years and is family-run by him and his siblings, which made the experience feel even more personal. You can tell they have a loyal customer base--one couple even said, "See you tomorrow Washington!"
