Terrible aftertaste. Everyone is complaining of a stomachache at the dinner table at home. The woman who I placed my order with on the phone kept pushing the chips. As someone who grew up on East LA tacos and Mexico tacos in the summers, I guarantee you this is the spot. The burrito was full of old meat, and the beans tasted like canned beans. The 4 asada tacos were nothing but skin and fat with very little to no meat. The 2 al pastor tacos were dry with old meat and had nothing on them. All I did was ask for no salsa. I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy.

I went on a taco run yesterday to try to find the best taco in Whittier…read more Started off the run with a keto taco mixed with asada and al pastor and then a regular tripa taco. Keto taco - toasted/grilled cheese instead of a regular tortilla - needed to be done a little more on one side as the cheese wasn't quite toasty enough to stay in place to slightly resemble the shape of a taco. Bit hard to eat, covered my hands in grease. Asada tastes almost boiled, and this being my 2nd or 3rd time getting the Asada here, it consistently tastes like it was boiled and not grilled. Unsure of meat quality or preparation, but there are no grill marks and it's a bit chewy. Same with the al pastor. Tripa taco was bizarre. Strips of flat skin instead of the usual roundish, cylindrical shape of tripa (intestine). Usually a saltier, fattier meat than asada, which is my preference but the one here was lacking in flavor and the texture threw me off a bit. Tripa can be chewy - unless requested extra done, which is how I normally order it - but there was no saving this tripa. I think it needs to be sliced differently, the cuts made it inedible. Brother shared some of his chorizo taco and it was the better of the bunch. Red chorizo, TJ style, although it was also lacking a teeny bit in flavor... onions and cilantro to the rescue! Still, mediocre. Salsas were ok, nothing out of the ordinary. Don't think the tortillas were homemade. Service was fine, cashier takes your order, dude at the counter was chill and had a friendly attitude. Seating was limited. Mostly bar style seating but the majority was in front of a window and it had so much heat trapped from the glass that it was kind of uncomfortable. Other seats are too close to the bathroom. Good for a quick bite or just pick-up orders. Wouldn't plan a sit down/dine-in visit. Parking is scarce and has really small spots, wouldn't come if you're driving a pick-up truck or anything like that. Food was reasonably priced, which is good, however; the food was lacking so I would not return.

It was the first time I'd tried the rice and beans here, and they did not disappoint. Delicious and a generous portion, enough for at least 3 servings. The lady at the register was very friendly, and I got my order within about 10 minutes or so. I did a to go order, but the inside is spacious and clean., with plenty of parking.

It was okay, but definitely not Hatch chilies. Hatch chilies are now in season so they could have used them. The sopapillas were just like in Santa Fe so 3 stars were raised to 4.
