We purchased 4 burritos, one burrito of Chile Verde de puerco 2 de lengua and 1 de carnitas. The 2 de lengua the meat was hard and the chile verde de puerco was hard and not good. So we endedup throwing 2 of lengua to the trash and not eating it cause it was disgusting and the chile verde also was thrown out, the carnitas was ok but nos as good as it should be.This place was recommended but it ended up being disappointing. Staff were excellent but the food was not.please get a better cook if you're to stay in business. read more

I'd give zero stars if possible. I purchased $400 worth of food catered to be served after a funeral. I paid $8.99 a pound(20lbs. $180) for carne asada and was given hamburger meat. They would not refund me the difference in price. The women in the deli laughed at me like the situation was funny. Horrible food and customer service. Do not eat here. read more

5/13/2022 at 530PM. The Staff was very unprofessional. Majority of them was taking a break at the same time instead of doing their job. There was no cashier for the longest time and when I asked the Food Workers can I pay so I can go home, they acted like they didn't understand me and even laughed. Other customers were waiting too and they felt it was ridiculous. I'm never spending my money there again and to all people of Modesto and Ceres, save your money and go somewhere else. read more

This is the worse Mexican food place I have ever ordered from. I would like to not even give this place a 1 star but it's not allowed. I ordered 3 burritos 2 with rice and beans and 1 with chicken rice and beans, the girl asked me if I wanted hot or mild sauce I made it clear to her I wanted mild. After I got back to north modesto from this horrible place I gave my grandson his burrito he could not even eat it because it was so hot (spicy) and it was filled with chicken bones. I tried to eat mine but finally gave up and threw it away. I bought the 3 rd one for my step father in a nursing home. He said he likes spicy food but this was ridiculous and ended up throwing it away. This place should be shut down I got sick from eating the 1/4 of the burrito. Bad food! The Stanislaus county Health department should be investigating this place!!!! read more

The food here is painfully bland. The carne asada has no seasoning, the rice tastes like cardboard, and the beans have no flavor. The spicy red salsa was the only thing that gave the food any kind of flavor but it was delivered in a plastic bag so most of it spilled out en route. Will not be ordering from here again. read more

La perla Tapatia has a huge selection of meat at very good prices, also has a big selection on spices and everything else. they also have a Deli and a dinning area inside the store. the only thing i dont like is that as soon as u walk in those cashier girls are greeting you very loudly its almost embaressing as soon as u walk in they will say "buenos dias senora" Im like "gosh calm down alredy the whole store knows im here!" ...lol read more

Pretty good and fast service but paying is odd at the front. Be sides that will come again.

You need to check your dessert fridge daily. The one by the registers. I just went in to get flan cups and the cupcakes have very green mold growing on them and the frosting. It takes more then 5-7 days for mold to grow on refrigerated items. Needless to say I didn't purchase the flan cups assuming those are 5-7 days old...:( read more

Best home made flour tortillas! Hot and ready to go home! I ordered a breakfast burrito and I couldn't finish it because it was big and incredibly delicious. Never had a bad experience until tonight. The server was inattentive and almost messed up my order multiple times. She made lewd gestures to the girls in the dining area and kept watching the soccer game instead of paying attention to what she was doing. To top it off the carnitas were extremely dry and barely edible. Next time I want Mexican food I'm going else where. read more

Customer Service is crappy!!! Buyer beware! We bought masa for tamales and when we got home, the masa was spoiled. When we called they said they would not return our money, or give us good masa, and blamed it on us!!! Never going there again. read more

I actually go here a lot its really close to my house, but every time I go something goes bad. I keep going for the convenience but I really need to stop. Don't get me wrong They sometimes have good sales on meat and stuff but I feel like its really dirty. There staff are like always in a bad mood, some are actually really nice but the others ruin the whole atmosphere. I feel like in the kitchen no one know what to do ,I ask for something and i hate getting idk as a answer, that's like telling me I don't want your business. The part of the store I feel is the cleanest is the Bakery cake part. I never had or seen dirty or flies flying around . In the kitchen idk if its healthy to see flies by the food. I feel like with a little more effort and work they can turn it around. I just came from there i went on my lunch for food since its also the closet Mexican food spot, and I am extremely unhappy with the way the food was prepared and the way they kept it and stored it, made me want to write this, It wasn't that bad but i kind of got the ewwws after ,lady was also like in a bad mood to help me and while helping others she was talking to me , while helping me she was talking to others i thought that was sort of rude. but who knows. . reason of 2 stars is because 1 star is like i totally hate it which i don't . 2 is like a little less than worst, but hopefully if they make a totally different atmosphere maybe cleanup a little it can totally change, ps.cornbread in bakery is pretty good. read more
