All three of our children attended The Orchard School. We are very pleased with the education they…read morereceived and so are they. I've often tried to sift through all our years and determine what they most learned/received at Orchard and if I had to pick one attribute (and there are many), I'd pick confidence. They are all confident public speakers. For example, when my daughter was a junior in high school, she won an award that required her to speak at a dinner with over 400 people present. I tried several times to get her to practice and review her speech in advance, knowing that the previous recipient had a professional speech writer. In frustration, one evening she said, "Mom, I went to Orchard. Don't worry." She delivered a flawless speech without notes. They are all confident about their ability to learn. Orchard likes to say they help create lifelong learners and they do. Each of our children knows how to learn and they like to learn. They are all confident expressing themselves to anyone. In high school, their teachers observed that unlike many shy teens they were not afraid to ask questions and advocate for themselves or for others. And, this has continued throughout their college and post-graduate years. Orchard invites and teaches children how to respectfully approach adults. At Orchard, education is not just about science, English, history, etc. While these are important, it's also about helping develop good people and preparing them for the future.

This school used to live up to it's claims of meeting the child where they are, educating the whole…read morechild, fostering their individuality, etc. In the past few years I have experienced a tremendous decline in their ability to hold true to this, sadly. I give it an average star rating because these days is just a costly version of any typical, yet capable public school with the addition of arrogance in their approach.

She has learned a lot, and already is ready for kindergarten even though she has one more year left in pre school. I for one appreciate what Ms Tamieka does for the community-while proving a great learning environment. This school has allowed my child to attend when times can be tough financially and frankly I have no problem with the fund raisers. So with that being said-KEEP DOING A GREAT JOB MS. TAIMEKA AND STAFF-MY FAMILY APPRECIATES YOU!

He cried everyday and said he didn't like this school. But it was over for me when my son repeatedly told me, they were pulling on his ears by the "teachers" and I believe him, he don't just make stuff up and never has anyone in my household ever discipline kids by pulling on their ears. Told Tamecka and she did nothing, so the second time I took matters into my hands to address the "fake teachers" and I reported Stacia Osborn and Tamecka to the state, because it's abuse. The kids watch Netflix all day, when the recommended screen time 3 1/2 hours per week, your child will come home knowing ever Netflix movie and that is disgusting to me because we don't even watch it at home. They were truly understaffed. Having 20 + plus kids to one class room, way above the state law ratio in a toddler class but they don't know you know the laws too. The owner is never there to even monitor the staff, so she clueless, she just have her daughter working with some immature middle age 20 year olds who braiding their hair and putting on their wigs, in to the job and doing their hair on the job, so that's very unprofessional, even witnessed one of her staff members own kid, who was greater than 10 hit a two year old daycare child while me and another parent was present. Oh and not to mention tell him to stay out they kids hair and not touch them no more! This why you can't support black businesses they not upstanding to regulations nor do they conduct business correctly and we was only here less than 90 days before I had withdraw my son, because it was not going to end well.
