I had met Chelsea briefly once before when I came into the shop one time. She gave me her card and said she would be happy to have a new client. I made an appointment 1/31/23 and went in to get my waist length hair cut & styled. I had to wait a couple of weeks to get in as she doesn't work weekends and after 4pm is challenging to get an appointment. When I got there on time she was running 30+ minutes late. No worries I waited it happens. I brought in pictures of what I might want. I decided after talking to go back to the heavily layered/feathered look I had previously. Just below my shoulders. (Which it is not) My bad.... I should have had her take more off then and there. Since it was our first interaction I gave her grace and figrued I would fix it myself and see what I thought. Again my bad..upon looking at it after she took pictures I was not happy with it. Entirely to long, looked all chopped up and uneven. But ....She told me if it was to long or if I needed it adjusted to just give her a call and she would fix it. So I figured I would work with it and see then have it recut if it didn't work for me. I called her the beginning of the next week to come and have it shortened and layered more. She was either not in or already gone the couple of times I called that week. I tried again week 2 and left a message asking her to call me. She never did. Finally I sent her a text as a last resort to see about getting back in. Monday 2/13/23. She replied telling me how crazy busy she had been and she would work me in at 12:30 on Wednesday. I work 8 -4 MF and I replied as such. I could be in anytime and day after 4:15. And I would be off all day Monday 2/20/23. No response. Thursday 2/15/23 I sent another text saying thank you anyway Have a good day. She responded at 8:45 pm are you still off Monday. I replied yes... crickets again. I waited a couple of more days 2/18/23 and texted her ... I m moving on now but thank you for the time you spent. No response what so ever. This is absolutely NO WAY to operate a business and very unprofessional. I would NOT a recommend Chelsea as a hairdresser in any way shape or form.

I cannot begin to tell you the number of times I have "settled" for a haircut or flat out grew my hair longer just to avoid having another bad experience. That is, until I sat in Georgina's chair and got the hands-down best stylist experience I have ever had. From the skills to the space and insistence on you leaving satisfied, your strands are safe in her hands. The Space Within a cozy business plaza just across from the theater on Newberry, Georgina's personal chair sits nestled inside a very clean, well-decorated shared space. The concept at this location is less "sea of cookie-cutter chairs, all side-by-side" and more "private, comfortable areas to just chat and relax". It is so private, in fact, that I do not see the faces of any other stylists who also work their magic while visiting, nor other patrons getting styled. Perhaps people-watchers like the communal approach, but I love this isolation. Getting your hair done is even more relaxing when other noise and chatter are gone, plus if you have been going to the same expert for years you are likely to want to catch up with them. The Service Let me start by saying I have not just gone "to the same place for years." I have been seeing the same PERSON for years (roughly 3 years I believe). Apart from her skills, which I will go into soon, Georgina is a genuinely thoughtful, patient person. She never fails to offer amenities for those who like a beverage or coffee to make their experience even more of a value, so keep that in mind if you are thinking of paying her a visit. For me, even before she took on her own space, it was clear she had incredible "chair-side manner" with her visitors. Effortless conversation if you are the type, but I imagine even those who are not chatty would feel comfortable relaxing quietly while getting spruced up. The Styles Did I mention the double crowns and cowlick? Having had such troublesome experiences with chains and other alternatives, I asked a friend who styled hair if she would take me on. Her response (approximately): "I honestly am not as strong at men's cuts as Georgina. She's a rockstar and you should seriously book her." I did just that, and she was not wrong. I sat down, expressed my woes of the past: lop-sided, off-kilter, unruly, etc. Georgina heard me and, in a flash, turned those fears into a clean, slick, downright fly-AF haircut I was proud to walk away sporting. I even managed to convince my girlfriend to see her and she was extremely attached to an out-of-town stylist -- and she loved her 'do too! Final Thoughts At the risk of making Georgina too busy to ever see me again, I encourage anyone looking for a long-term, careful stylist to book her ASAP. Her work speaks for itself in pictures, but as someone looking to just get a decent haircut against the odds of my genetic traits, I am telling you she can make magic happen.

Her prices are very reasonable. We will not be going any where else as long as she is open. She gave me the best haircut I have had in years. She gave my husband a fantastic cut too!
