I've heard about Ziba during the 20 years I've lived in Gainesville but never felt inclined to visit until recently. I'm so glad I finally did. The threading didn't hurt like other places, and she was so precise. For $25, it truly can't be beat. But honestly, it's something I feel like people should try at least once. Yeah it hurts, but the result is so nice afterward plus you don't have to do any maintenance down there if you plan on going swimming or to the beach. I've gotten Brazilians at this location and one in Jacksonville and like the efficiency of Brazil's Waxing Center. At this location, Karen was the technician who did mine. She was super funny and personable and was great at distracting me. For pain tolerance reference, I've gotten my underarms waxed for several years and only recently started getting Brazilians. They hurt the most for the first 3 waxes, but as the hair gets thinner they hurt less and less. Honestly, the first time was the most painful and then after it was totally doable! A few tips for first time waxers: do NOT go work out right after your Brazilian or go swimming/do anything that could clog your pores for AT LEAST 24-48 hours after. If you ignore this recommendation from the technician, I almost guarantee you will get ingrown hairs. No one wants that. I actually really like the exfoliate and ingrown hair serum that they sell there, but I don't think the soap is worth the money. Bottom line: just try it!!

Do NOT get eyebrow threading at the Fashion Square Mall or Downtown Mall. I made this mistake when I first moved to Charlottesville two years ago. Make an appointment with Palvi first! As a result of a bad eyebrow experience, it prompted me to grow my eyebrows. Didn't tweeze, wax or thread for almost two years! I had full eyebrows when I had them done with Palvi, she cleaned 'em up, shaped and kept it thick. I also have to mention that my face has a significant asymmetry, but now that my eyebrows are even! My facial asymmetry is less noticeable! I'm emphasizing the full eyebrow thing disclaimer because most people would maybe think over plucked eyebrows would magically look okay... usually the issue is not with the business... it's with the client's high expectations.
