If you can get into this quaint and clean little place with amazing views and quiet rooms, do it! We have stayed at over 12 hotels in the Sedona Area that are $150 and below, and this was the only place that was welcoming, friendly, quiet, great view, and it is right in town! I honestly cannot recommend it enough. We actually started staying in Cottonwood because the Sedona Hotels were so old, dirty and on the noisy road . Then we found this little Gem. The owners are so friendly and could not have been more helpful in making sure we were comfortable and had all we needed. WOW!

We came to Sedona on a whim and it was our first time visiting. When we arrived we knew we had to find lodging for our visit. After stopping at the visitors center for some recommendations we spent a few minutes poring over websites, reading reviews and trying to find an economical and centrally located room. As you may know, staying anywhere near the heart of Sedona costs a pretty penny. That is why we were surprised to find affordable rates at La Petite Sedona. We called and were warmly greeted by Becky (one of the owners) and she was able to get us a room for our stay. We quickly went to their office and met Becky and Barry (the owners). They were warm and welcoming and were a wealth of information on places to visit, restaurants to dine at, and local attractions to fill our days in Sedona. It was like visiting an old friend rather than being a customer at a business. We went to our room and were pleasantly surprised on how clean and modern it was. There is even a wonderful back patio with couches and chairs where you can sit and watch the sun rise and set on the mountain behind the hotel. It is just what a visiting couple needs to recharge before the next days adventures. They have dedicated convenient parking that even accommodated our minivan. The hotel is so centrally located, we didn't need to drive it to get to dining or local attractions in town. By far this is our best find during our month long adventure across the south west. We will be back and next time we plan on staying longer.

This hotel is a bit too toasty owing to its fibro walls. Its a bit old, but clean and fits the budget. The suburban-ness of Flagstaff and then desert gives way to a stunning lush forested gorge, lined with stunning rock formations. Paddy takes a dip in the creek, and gets a bunch of leeches in his underwear. He's trying to tell us that its lovely in. It's a beautiful location, but no one else is going in. After going for a walk in the gorge, we drive on to Sedona, and another series of beautiful rock formations, which glow red and sandy gold at sunset. It's like seeing a Grand Canyon wall up close, with its stratifications, topped with Road Runner show style rock mountain formations.

As we're cruising down the main street we passed The Inn Above Oak Creek and noticed they had a lit-up vacancy sign. We immediately went in and met with the inn keeper who offered to let us go see the room before we committed to booking. This is THE cutest little 13 room inn set right on Oak Creek. There is seating down by the creek, on the patio off the main room, and inside the main room itself that all have great views. Our room was very spacious with a 2-person sized bathtub and a fireplace! It had truly the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in away from home. My husband was obsessed and wanting to know how we could copy it to have at home. Both of the inn managers were so kind and took such good care of us. You could feel how much they care for the inn and value their guests. There's always coffee and water set out. They have homemade cookies in the afternoon and homemade muffins in the morning. They have a bookshelf with various options for reading and a large selection of movies. On the coffee table, they have binders full of recommendations for trails and exploring the area. It was such a cute and intimate place to stay. I'd recommend it to anyone traveling to Sedona and I'd love to stay here again! We truly couldn't have found a better place to stay for Valentine's Day. We felt so lucky to have gotten a room here.

However, when we initially arrived, the young front desk agent with red hair appeared to be on a personal phone call. She ended the call by saying "I love you," which made it seem like it may have been a conversation with a friend. After the call she greeted us, but throughout the interaction she seemed unsure and a bit confused about the information she was giving. I would strongly suggest additional training on customer service and job knowledge to ensure guests feel welcomed and confident in the information they receive. Especially at a property where guests are paying around $1,000 a night, first impressions and professionalism are very important. Aside from that initial front desk experience, everything else about our stay was wonderful.
