Stayed at Sedona Pines and overall had a really solid experience. The location is one of the biggest strengths--it sits perfectly between Sedona and Cottonwood, so you get easy access to both without feeling stuck in the middle of nowhere. Running into Cottonwood is quick and convenient, which made things simple for food and exploring. The cottage setup is another big plus. I liked having a standalone unit instead of being packed into a typical hotel-style building. It gave it more of a private, relaxed feel. The space itself had everything I needed--nothing over-the-top, just practical, comfortable, and easy to settle into. I'll preface this with background. We bought here back in 2000 when there were about 9 units built. We've been there a lot over the years. We've seen all the incarnations. We just stayed for a long weekend and were very sad to see the condition of the grounds and units. There are weeds in the canals between units, the units are becoming shabby. The ice maker was taken out of the freezer. The faucets are losing their patina. The landscaping hadn't been maintained. I miss the sofa bed in the living room. It was much more comfortable than the sofa that's there now. Plus there was a side chair for company. The paintings are gone and even the artificial plants. It's like the owners don't care., I had difficulty getting into bed it's so high. The closet doors were off the track and almost hit me in the head. The tv went out while we were there too. This was a very disappointing trip. It made us very sad to see it in poor shape. read more

This resort looks nothing like the pictures portrayed online. The reality is so disappointing. Do not stay here! The cottages look extremely old, outdated and cheap. It is so narrow inside the cottages, that you have no room to move around. The water fountain in front has blue die in it and barely runs. The resort looks run down and very cheap. The check in clerk had such bad breath when I was talking with him., it permeated the office. When checking in, you are bombarded with sales reps trying to sell you shares. You are forced to talk with these reps, in order to get a parking pass---which is a piece of paper. I chose not to stay there and cancelled my room/cottage, however, the resort is refusing to give me back my money. The front desk manager and staff make excuses about how they do not have any power to help. This resort stole 350 dollars of mine when I never even stayed there. They will not follow up with me and refuse to get me in contact with the appropriate individual to issue my refund. This place is a joke !!!! read more

It was like staying in a little house. The bed was queen sized. The mattress was firm with a good cushion. The pillows were soft. There was an extra blanket which we needed. The kitchen area was fully functional with pots, pans, utensils and most of the items you would need to cook a full meal. They provide coffee for 1 day with sugar and creamer. The bathroom was cozy. There was a good sized tub. There were extra sets of towels. Our smoke detector started malfunctioning after 9pm. We called the front desk and maintenance came out immediately and fixed it. We were able to catch a show one night. Standswithbear was entertaining. They offer free lectures and shows through the week. They have a pool, adult only hot tub which holds 16 and a second hot tub. I used the adult only hot tub. The water temperature was above 90 and there were 16 jets. It was a good value for the money. We would stay there again. read more

Came here for the timeshare. It's like a tiny home meets RV size staycation. This place is one of RCI's sapphire resort. For a nightly stay it can get pricey unless booked through a timeshare i'm assuming. The pool was a major plus and the family activities like the mini basketball area and mini golf was a perk. There are various outdoor jacuzzis and an italian restaurant conveniently located near the front office. Our stay had a mini kitchen equipped with everything for us to cook meals and the fold out couch helped us squeeze our kids in comfortable. The housekeeping and cleanliness was too notch. read more

Units were clean and tidy. Not what I consider a resort -- more of a retreat center. This doesn't take away from the ambience of this quaint facility. A lot of thought was put into the appliances in the unit. The Casita could have used a mini-fridge. The grounds were well kept. The adult lagoon was an added plus. The place is quaint and exceeded expectations. The highway noise did detract. Now for the ugly. The reception we received was less than welcoming. It made us feel like we were being tolerated with a dash of an eye-roll to our questions and requests. Reception needs to learn hospitality. Christie helped to reduce the negative impression. The resort was fine, but we also got roped into hearing a two hour high pressure timeshare presentation that truly ruined our vacation. They wouldn't take no for an answer, even when we said from the start that we wouldn't be buying. Please bear with me as I share this review of 1* and 4.5* 4 .5 Star Review: I stayed at the Sedona Pines Resort for 10 days during August. The cottage was clean and all the amenities worked fine. Great little resort with tiny homes. The staff were super friendly and the location great. I would have given this review 4.5 stars if this were the only time I stayed there. Needing to stay a few more days in Sedona, I extended renting accommodation for a few more nights. In doing so, I was switched to another cottage and this is where my concerns started. 1 Star Review: Leading up to switching cottages, Sedona had received a lot of over night torrential rain. When I walked into my new cottage - whilst being clean - it smelled damp and musky. Quite honestly the dense smell was intolerable for someone with allergies and I had concerns about mold. I asked for a new cottage and I was offered two more options. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful doing the best they could with the assets available. Sadly, both new cottages had the same damp and musky smell and ambiance to them - something that was unbearable and I considered as a health risk. So, I returned the keys, informed the front desk staff I was leaving, thanked them for their help and said I would be contacting booking.com for a refund. This seemed reasonable to me. Booking.com contacted the manager of the Sedona Pines who refused to refund monies despite all cottages offered were a health risk. This is why I have given then a 1 star in this review. So, if you are sensitive to damp and musky smells then check with the resort first and be clear with your requirements. Despite this, it is a great little resort. Furthermore, Booking.com whilst being proactive with the resort, were incompetent in getting money back - siding with the resort rather than their client. I consider this an unreasonable outcome. read more

Avoid the sales presentation, bullying tactics. I don't think I've ever seen a sales tactic this insulting and repulsive. The saleswoman, Tanya, made rude comments about my age and appearance. When I didn't want to sign for a timeshare on the spot, she grew aggressive and rude. She escalated to a colleague who scoffed as us for not wanting to sign a contract on the spot with no detail. We stayed in a 2-bedroom unit last week for a one-week stay through RCI. The 2-bedroom unit is actually two separate casitas with a deck outside separating them. The main casita has a bedroom, bathroom, kitchenette, and living area. The second casita has the second bedroom and bathroom and that's it. Both units were clean and bright, with a minimalist vibe and lots of windows letting in natural light. One important thing to note about these casitas is that they are SMALL. They're sort of like slightly larger tiny houses, or higher-end single-wide mobile homes, but they are well-designed enough that you don't get claustrophobic. Even so, I would absolutely recommend you get the 2-bedroom unit if you have more than 2 people in your party. The 1-bedroom would get very cramped if you had more than 2 people (e.g., 2 in the bedroom and 1-2 on the sleeper sofa). In saying that, the units have plenty of ingenious storage space and although the rooms are narrow, it's a good use of floor space. It's also nice to be in your own unit with nobody above or adjacent to you, unlike in traditional hotels or condos. The landscaping was also beautiful. We loved wandering the grounds and even just sitting next to the little ravine with rushing water adjacent to our casitas. True to its name, the resort also had pine trees everywhere. We didn't use much of the resort amenities -- just the hot tub next to the laundry room, which was very nice. I appreciated that they had an adults-only pool as well. Honestly, I would go back just for the grounds alone. I wish we'd had time to try the mini-golf or the restaurant on-site. Now for the not-so-great: the hot water ran out pretty quickly in the mornings, so I had to be careful when showering. Also, the unit was looking a bit dingy in places -- some frayed carpet edges, marks on walls, that sort of thing. Also, the TV in the 2nd bedroom casita could only pick up 5 channels instead of the full list of promised channels. That was a bit weird. Overall, I would stay here again, but only in a 2-bedroom unless I was travelling completely by myself or with a close friend/partner. The 1-bedroom is just too small otherwise. read more

There are multiple pools and one of them is adult only open til midnight. The location is beautiful, peaceful, pitch black at night, and close to lots of great hiking spots. Good grief. Taylor mislead us. He's is slick Willy. He told us the Sedona Pine resorts was a new resort and they were trying to get the word out about the brand new resort . . We agreed to see the resort because we plan on coming back next year and thought we might like to stay. We should've known it was a timeshare presentation. The guy who did the presentation was fantastic. Hopefully he will go out and find himself another job instead of soliciting this timeshare Scam. I feel sorry for all the people who work there. They all have potential, but they need to go out and find a new line of work. Nobody in their right mind would cut a check for $13,990 the same day. We were told if we don't buy today they have our tour number and we won't be invited back. I guess in that case we won't be staying at the resort next year when we come back. They made it clear. We are not welcome back.! We didn't get to tour the "brand new"facility anyway like Taylor said we would be doing. read more

Stayed here for 2 nights recently on our recent Sedona trip. We had 6 people, split to 3 "rooms". This place is different from any other motel/hotel/inn i've ever stayed at before. Instead of individual "rooms", its like individual "buildings". We stayed in 112, 113, 117. Walking distance from each other. Each unit has its own parking space right next to the unit, w/ unit number labeled on the ground. In-between the units, there is an adult's only jacuzzi too which seemed to be quite frequently used by other people. Inside laid out like an RV. You enter near the front where theres a sofabed, dining table for 4, and a small TV. A full sized kitchen with fridge, microwave, stove, sink, blender, coffee maker. Bedroom in the back of the unit with lots of closet space. All doors are sliding doors (which is a little hard to move and noisy). The bathroom is pretty decently sized, brightly lit, with a full tub/shower too. The unit has TONS of artificial lighting but also has a lot of windows which brings in lots of light during the day as well. Every unit has their own little porch area with some chairs and a table. Was a great area to chill at outside with everyone and chat during the day. Gets a bit chilly at night. Unfortunately, signal for both cell and wifi signal is quite minimal. "Usable" wifi but nothing amazing. I had little to no cellular signal (t-mobile). AT&T seemed to be ok. Not really their fault as it was kind of a hit and miss thing throughout city of Sedona. The sheets that was for the sofa bed was mildly dirty in the corner with a stain. I just avoided using that area. Not the most comfortable sofa bed but its something at least. Overall, pretty nice place to stay. Its a bit "out of the way" at the "far end" of the 89A but its still quite close. Takes about 15 minutes or so to get back to the main junction of 179. There's "more" stores and restaurants on the west side of Sedona vs along the 179 but a lot of more popular restaurants are over there. Very different from the typical hotel. More privacy since you arent directly connected to each unit. read more

We stayed here in November and the resort was nice and quiet, perfect for getting away and enjoying a relaxing time in Sedona. The resort itself is located at the far west end of Sedona, but within an easy drive to the central part of town, and about 20 minute drive from Oak Creek. I prefer being out of town a little bit because traffic can get a little hairy. We arrived very late, but thankfully they had a person on-staff 24 hours/day to help us with the check-in process. Our unit was clean and comfortable for the most part. There was plenty of room for the two of us to spread out and relax. The kitchen comes equipped with standard dinnerware, flatware, cooking utensils, pots/pans. Appliances include an electric stovetop, dishwasher, and microwave. We did miss not having an oven though. However, we were able to prepare just about all of our meals at home during the week, which was nice considering restaurant prices in Sedona are on the high side. I would say that you don't have good views of the red rocks from this resort, but you don't have to drive too far to find those views. I would say that resorts east of here would have better red rock views. There were two items in the room which did bother us. One was there were not enough blinds in the bedroom (some of the windows at the very top did not have any coverings) so that light broke through every morning. Another issue was the heating system which did not keep the unit warm evenly and was constantly turning on at all hours (again a little too loud for our taste). Also, on Friday the gardeners run their leaf blowers for the better part of the morning which kicks up all sorts of dust and noise. Thankfully it happened on only one of the days. Otherwise, the resort staff were all very kind and helpful, and I would stay here again. read more

A guy told us at one of the stores we could check out the hotels and there were free nights, gifts to attend a 90 minute presentation. We decided to see what the hotel looked like and when we arrived, it turns out the presentation is 120 minutes and not 90 minutes as we were previously told. We live in Phoenix and there is nothing like a summer getaway to Sedona. The stunning darks sky's become a retreat for star gaisers. This weeks get away found us at the Pines. We know Sedona is one big tourist trap if the chamber of commerce could sell the air they would. Back to the Pines. If your looking for value, comfortable beds and in it for the adventure this is your place. A little bit of something for everyone. Fun 18 hole kid golf, basketball , kids play area, beautiful clean Salt water pool, restaurant. The room has a kitchenette very comfortable bedding and affordable. We give it 5 stars. My husband and I reserved a room here for 2 nights through hotels.com (1/5-1/7). We had a 1 bed 1 bath casita with a living room, kitchen, patio, and parking in front of the casita. The sofa in the living room also turns in to a sofa bed, so technically, this model has 2 beds! The inside was a bit small/tight, but it was perfect/roomy for 2 people. I wouldn't suggest little ones (kids) on this particular model just because wiggle room is limited. Check in was really easy. They had our info on file and just had us fill out the paperwork. The staff at the front desk (2 women) were really friendly and very accommodating to our needs! Because I am 6 months pregnant, I requested 2 extra pillows to help me get comfortable at night. The staff were very nice and helpful with my request and even offered to help me carry the pillows to my casita. That was very sweet of them. When we asked about restaurants for dinner that night, the staff directed us to employee Rob E. Not only did he provide us with restaurants, but little did we know, we'd be offered to participate in a time share presentation with Sapphire Resorts Vacations, which they try to lure you in with "gifts". Our stay at this resort was very comfortable, safe, and clean. It is kind of out of the way from the midtown area of Sedona, but it was nice because it was quiet. The drive from the resort to the midtown Sedona area only took us about 10 minutes to get to. This resort also has an Italian restaurant on the property called Bella Rita Ristorante. Unfortunately, we did not get to try it because the restaurant was closed for the week. Bummer because we heard so many good things about their food! The only one down side to this place... Cell phone service/WiFi. We had little to no service on the property, which made it a little difficult for us to call out, browse the internet, or FaceTime. GREAT time. Sedona Pines Resort is a FANTASTIC place. They have everything in your cottage you will need from drinking glasses to flatware to pots & pans. The cottages are extremely clean and smells fresh not like an old hotel room with smoke or musty odors. The staff could not be nicer and more helpful, if you need anything they are there to help you ASAP. The staff makes you feel like you are their priority #1. The deck has a comfortable lounger, a table with 4 chairs and a BBQ unit and let me tell you this option is fantastic as we went out to the deck several times at night to look at the stars. Also they have fountains throughout the housing area and the water makes a babbling brook so while you are watching the stars you hear the soft rolling water running down the stream. I WHOLEHEARTEDLY recommend Sedona Pines Resort for your next vacation or weekend get away. Thank you to the Staff for all your excellent care and work - you were wonderful!!! read more

Stayed here for 3 nights last weekend . After reading the reviews on multiple websites I was worried this resort was going to be disappointing , but I still decided to book because the price was better compared with other places nearby , I liked the idea of having a little casita (more privacy ) instead of being in an hotel room , and they have a heated pool and spas . I'm so glad I ignored the reviews and trusted my gut . The resort is like 15 min away from downtown sedona , you can definitely see it from the Main Street, there's a huge sign and flags by the main entrance . The casitas are super cute , it's true the furniture is a little bit outdated but it adds to the charm in my opinion . Like other reviews mention the rooms are not wide , but they're perfect for 2 people , the bathroom and shower and pretty spacious , the bedroom is little but it has enough space on the sides and front of the bed to walk around . The kitchen was fully equipped , they had pots , pans , different types of silverware, dishes and cups and even baking utensils. We didn't do any of that but it was nice to know you can definitely cook a meal here if you want . We also enjoyed having our own private deck. Unlike other hotels or resorts I don't think they send housekeeping every day while you're there , we ran out of a couple items like coffee and shampoo but we got more from the reception . I'm sure that if we had asked them to send us someone to tidy up the place they would have send them . Our cellphone reception was fine (t-mobile) and the wifi in the room was too , we did not have connection issues whatsoever. My partner was able to do some work and also joined a zoom meeting. Checkin in was super easy , we arrived there around 4 am during a snowstorm , the security guard showed us the way to our room and told us to come back next day to complete our check in . Effortless & easy . We met the girls at the front desk the next day and they're extremely nice , both times I was there , I saw them being treated rudely by other guests and they never changed their demeanor. I also noticed that management takes constructive criticism and guest reviews seriously our room had extra blankets and extra towels, some of the things other people complained about . 10/10 would stay again . read more

We've been members with Sedona Pines for about 15 years. We exchanged points to stay here for a week. When we signed in we were told the resort is now owned by a company called Saphire Resorts and we should come back in a little over an hour to watch a 30 minute film to see the changes....plus they'd give us a gift card for $150. When we returned the receptionist told us we had to take a 90 minute tour.....we told her that's not what we were told. She got the manager and he told us we were informed wrong by a new employee. We told him we had been members here for 15 years and didn't need a tour. He didn't offer an apology and was rude. Our home resort really made us feel welcome. NOT! The outside of this resort is well maintained but the inside is old and worn out. It is not being updated at all and the furniture and beds are very uncomfortable. read more

Wonderful, friendly staff. Our cabin, tiny house, modular, was efficient and super clean. Very comfortable bed. Slightly dated but nice finishes overall. Loved sitting on the deck in the morning with my coffee press and books. Pool was large, lots of social distancing, chairs were handed out and cleaned afterwards, pretty rock fountains everywhere including flowing into the hot tub by the pool. Huge hot tub only available to adults until 8 pm had issues with the jets shutting off mysteriously and no lights, but a nice place to hang out, and again with the rocks. This is not a good location. If you have a GPS in the car, it will probably give you the other side of the road. This place does not have a clear sign for people to see. It is hidden behind brushes or another road. The cabins are not sound proof. The neighbors next door return to their cabin and slam the door hard and talking loud after 10:30 pm. You can hear what they say. Inside of the cabin is so tight that can hardly walks in. The heating vents on the floor do not work. You can still feel cold after you have the heater on. Places has not been maintained for sometime. Not enough blankets in the cabin that I stayed in so I have to turn on the heater on high. I opened the cabinet on top of the closet and found no extra blankets inside. read more

Great for those who like their personal space. Little (mini) sized individual modular units, not a share the wall hotel. A great place to stay for 2 adults on a single rental. More than us would have felt cramped. The unit was clean, but could use some very minor touch-ups and a bit updating. The property was very inviting and cozy. Perfect for those who don't want to be inside the hustle and bustle of the main city. If you're a person who loves to dine out, be prepared to drive. There is an Italian restaurant on-site for a late lunch or dinner. If you want breakfast or something non-Italian, you'll need to either cook it in the units narrow kitchen, drive into town or order delivery. The on-site pool is huge but lacked furniture due to the current Covid situation. Luckily it was not packed full of people as we have experienced at other places. We really enjoyed our stay, and look forward to seeing any updates to the property over coming years as we plan on making this place a go-to for our family. read more
