    Me and my 66-year-old mom
    Claire L.

I've been lucky enough to have loads of experience with LAPhotobooth, and every single one of them has driven home what a party-maker it is. Literally, no joke, I have seen a boring party where everyone is standing around self-consciously, turn into a fun time where everyone is giggling (okay, so maybe wine coolers help too). I'm talking 70 year old Swedish people in eveningwear loosening up and putting on a Cleopatra hat. Every time I check in on pictures of the photobooth, they're all full of smiling, laughing faces. There are parents with their kids and brides kissing their new husbands, and sometimes pictures of people who aren't around anymore, having a blast with their friends. I had a pool party awhile ago and set up the photobooth outside at it -- it was the hit of the night. There are so many hilarious pictures, and nothing brings out someone's latent acting talent like the photobooth. Basically, if you are thinking about getting this for your party, I'd say yes yes yes. It beats the weird little confined booth ones with only 4 photos at a time...hands down. This one you can take as many pictures as you want with as many people as you want and they're all professionally lit and look fantastic. I even have a friend who did his acting headshots in the photobooth! Genius!

I booked a Tuesday evening class during winter break. You get a confirmation email and that's it. I was worried about prep but they prepare everything for you and thought up everything as well. Small parking lot. They had us wash our hands when we arrived and then each kiddo had a color sheet with crayons. Nice touch but defeats the purpose of washing our hands first. The two of us shared a table with another mom with their toddler. Each toddler had their own set up to make 6 cookies. Everything was pre measured and it wasn't too messy. We were able to bake 6 cookies and use whatever toppings - she got to choose between chocolate chips, m&ms, white chocolate chips and these dried fruits. They read a book to the kids and then made milk shakes as a group. Each kid got a small cup and to place chocolate chips/m&Ms in. The cookies were really delicious and my child loved the milk shake. One thing is that you can't stop other kiddos from touching your items/food. Would return.

Great experience for people watching/interacting, and cooking without having to prep or clean!…read more Booked a shared table for 2 (4 people at a table) for an adult cooking class on a Saturday night. Pros: The shared table experience was great for meeting new people and having extra sets of brains for multitasking. Cons: Seating is random and the experience is shared; ie: one burner for 4, and the end products are shared. Our dish ended up being over-salted, and our experience was halved in interactive-ness due to the luck of the draw of seating. Never have I had a spoon or spatula taken away from my hands so fast before. And most certainly never have I had someone critique the knives and actively give the duller knife to us. This shared table experience was essentially a fight for all (for us). BUT this is just dependent on the attendees and who you're seated with. The other shared tables didn't seem to have such issues. For a more interactive learning experience, I recommend the private table to avoid the risk of randomization. On the bright side, we got to see how other couples interact, whether it was actively taking items from their partner's hands because they were doing the task wrong (ie: mixing eggs wrong??) or the couple next to us taking cute photos of each other and sharing drinks while enjoying their time together. The structure of the class was decent, organized, and well-paced. All ingredients were measured and prepared. Baking, cleaning, and chilling items were taken care of by staff. Prepping the dish (ie: battering items, mixing ingredients) and active cooking were the only things needed to be done. The instructor would explain the ingredients provided and the instructions during the instruction period for the dish at hand. Following the instructions, prep/cooking occurs while the instructor supervises and provides aid or guidance as needed. All in all, I had a great experience. The staff was nice, especially the instructor, and I felt taken care of during my cooking class experience. Would return for pasta night-- most definitely for the private table experience.

Only problem was, the playground was closed for renovations. Nicole and her team didn't let us know that the playground was closed although they arrived on-site 2 hours earlier. When I arrived, I had to scramble with the team to move the setup to the park next-door. Everything was OK at the end and even some of our guests offered help. One of the main reason we book with Nicole is that when things go wrong, I'd like her to step up and resolve them. But instead, she CHARGED US $300 for moving to the next playground. Wow, we were expecting apology, not a $300 bill. Even if you are a repeating and happy client of Nicole (like us), I advise you to start looking for more professional services with other organizers. We appreciate the many events she helped us until she dropped the ball completely and insulted us by charging us extra afterwards. -- Nicole responded by saying that they couldn't have foresaw that the playground was closed. This is false as her team showed me that they sent Nicole messages and videos of playground being closed before they setup anything. They could have communicated this with us earlier and moved to This is beyond surprising on how Nicole handles unexpected cases. Instead of trying to prove she is right, it would have been easier to say "shit happens" and make it right... Very surprising and weak response.

Typically, my sisters handle the bulk of the logistics related to decorations, but given the ample time afforded by my retired-bastard schedule, I offered to pick up a few of the requisite decorations in addition to my straightforward duty of simply procuring food and/or dessert (typically Mitchell's ice cream ). My original plan involved simply obtaining the desired balloons and dessert plates from a local Party City store. My detachment from the party-setup scene was made evident by my sisters who informed me that the local Party City stores had been shut down a while ago. My sisters informed me that I could go to the Diddams store located in San Mateo (a 20 minute drive from my home). When I arrived, I was greeted by SEVERAL staff members with a VERY friendly "hello". While attempting to track down and consider options, I was assisted by two representatives working on the floor, Aricela (sp?) and Jairo (sp?). Aricela was extremely PATIENT and KIND in providing assistance tracking down several items. Jairo was FRIENDLY and HELPFUL in his numerous attempts to check the storage area for a couple of things that were unavailable on the display cases. At the counter, Jose was very COURTEOUS and PROFESSIONAL in preparing the balloons that I purchased and in ringing me up to finalize my transaction. Side Note: I ended up having side conversations with Aricela, Jairo, and Jose as they were all extremely FRIENDLY and, not surprisingly, very KIND in indulging my desire to practice my green-belt level of Spanish EPILOGUE As things turned out, I returned home to find that the top layer of a stacked set of balloons I purchased completely deflated by the time I arrived home. I ended up returning to the store to inquire about how the issue could be remedied. As luck would have it, the store manager, Jason, was present and he was able to quickly address the issue by allowing me to simply grab a pre-constructed version of the balloon stack without question. The timing of my return was quite fortunate in that I was able to introduce myself to Jason and inform him, face-to-face, of the COURTESY, PATIENCE, and KINDNESS extended to me by several members of his team. KUDOS to Aricela, Jairo, Jose, and Jason - keep up the great work in providing EXCELLENT and FRIENDLY service to all your customers!

That is a serious food safety concern -- sealed packaging is there to protect customers from contamination and tampering. Once that seal is broken, the integrity of the product is gone, and no one can guarantee it's still safe to eat. Seeing it back on the shelf after being resealed immediately made me question the cleanliness, quality control, and overall trustworthiness of this place. On top of that, the pricing is completely unreasonable. They are charging nearly $10 more than what the same candy would cost anywhere else. This isn't a specialty import or a rare find -- it's the same everyday candy you can buy for a few dollars at other stores. Combining questionable handling practices with massive markups is a bad look for any business. Customers deserve both safe products and fair prices, and sadly, this shop fails to deliver either.
