    Curry beef with rice
    Christine L.

Visited the restaurant during lunch and afternoon tea time on separate occasions. This is inside the Monte Carlo Inn in Markham that offers Hong Kong authentic Chinese cafe food. Ordered the specialty honey mustard porkchop with pasta. Requested the pasta to toss with tomato sauce for added flavour for free. The porkchop was huge and juicy and comes with 2 big pieces. Honey kustard sauce on the side so porkchop won't be overly sweet and dip on the side with your liking. Absolutely loved this! Baked Tomato Porkchop with rice was truly authentic HK Cafe taste. Sauce was not overly sweet and perfect flavour. The porkchop was also juicy and they already cut in pieces for your convenience so you can just dig in for your bite not needing to cut or hassle. Spaghetti bolognese was nostalgic. Taste just like HK and the the linguine pasta is al dente. They did not stinge on the meat sauce. Lobster sauce pasta with fish fillet was decent. I can taste the lobster flavour from the creamy sauce. I don't prefer sauce that's very milky or creamy but I did enjoy this pasta as well. It has red peppers, green peppers, mushroom and onion in it. Fish fillet is deep fried and has a slight salty taste. The lobster sauce matched well with the fish fillet. Curry beef was strong in curry with a mild coconut milk flavour. Spicy and flavorful and goes well with the rice. Lots of beef slices, potato and carrots in the dish. You can ask for rice on the side so it won't soak up all the sauce. I enjoyed all the dishes I've tried and they now offer a new chalk board afternoon tea menu with soup noodles added for more options for everyone. I highly recommend the honey mustard porkchop. 5 stars!!

I can see why people like this but personally not for me. The portions are quite large and the food all kind of tastes the same. The lunch sets also comes with a soup and drink. The chicken steak is very fatty as well. Flavor is good. Service is good but place can be a bit loud.

The resto is located inside Monte Carlo Inn on Woodbine Ave. Ok the truth is, in terms of overall food quality, I do think the 3 star aggregate is pretty accurate. The pasta here is like 3.5/5 but everything else is around 3 stars. I REALLY, REALLY wanna give 3.5 overall rating tbh, simply because the portions are massive and the service was actually good contrary to what a lot of these reviews are saying. But alas, 2023 is a new year and one of my resolutions is to stop rounding up half a star if deep down I know the resto doesn't deserve it. So in this case, I'm feeling a 3.5 but since I'm not rounding up I have to round down to 3. Tiger shrimp penne with spinach cream sauce: This was what I ordered and by far the best dish of the lot. The pasta was cooked al dente. The sauce was creamy and thick. And there were A LOT of tiger shrimps running through this dish to justify that $20 price tag for a lunch. Did I mention above that the dishes in general were huge? This pasta was no exception. Chicken steak (not pictured): My dad ordered this and while the chicken WAS tender and moist, it came without sauce. Neither did the spaghetti that he paired with it, come with any sauce. This was very puzzling to me. He literally ate cooked spaghetti noodles with no sauce. Baked pork chop (honey mustard sauce): The sauce was tasty and the pork chops were actually very moist. I actually liked the chops more than the chicken steak tbh. It's a lot harder to cook a good pork chop than a good chicken thigh so this dish was actually done right. Probably rank this one right below my pasta. Baked sole fillet with pesto cream sauce: My bro's fiancé ordered this, and I never got a chance to try it but she did say it was ok. Came with a generous portion of fish. I've only ever eaten here for lunch with my family and my godparents so it's sort of a novelty/niche place for me. I don't think I'd ever suggest coming here out of the blue with my friends or gf tbh. It's not remarkable enough to warrant either. That being said, the portion sizes will satisfy any big eater so if that's what you're looking for, you'll be pleased.

This is a rather ordinary Hong Kong-style Western restaurant. The items they offer are actually quite common and can be found in Hong Kong on a regular basis. There isn't anything particularly special, and the prices are on the higher side. Unfortunately, the quality of the food doesn't justify the price, so it's not worth a try.

This restaurant is quite busy, and it is typically quite busy for a reason. The food is ok but the value of exceptional and you will definitely get your money worth. Especially looking at their combo set lunch/dinner, you probably won't be able to find another menu at this value within the 10km range. For me ordered a combo honey mustard pork chop guaranteed I also have lunch for the next day. Food overall is good, since their servers are quick, the food are served fresh and hot. The taste is what you can expect in a HK Western style restaurant(港式西餐廳). Service overall is very good, servers are attentive, but they are kind of like HK style type rush. So don't expect the slow classy service like those at JOEY, where you paid double the price and the service is slow. However, paying for double the price at Joey may not get your stomach full, over here you can see almost every table have to pack something to go.

Great service, ok food. The pasta tasted fine, and the clam chowder was good. The ovaltine wasn't drinkable at all.

Restaurant is located inside the Monte Carlo Hotel in Markham. First time coming to a chinese fusion restaurant inside a hotel. The staff were super friendly and nice which is a great plus! Very good service for sure. Main dishes: The linguine and meatball were decent with a tomato carrot like sauce, definitely chinese style...not sure how to explain it but its not italian for sure! The pork chop and sausage had a honey mustard sauce that was a bit sweet for my liking... Side dishes: russian borsht soup and hk milk tea were really good and tasty. The soup was a perfect balance of salty sweet and sour with lots of veggies. The milk tea was a great mix of strong and creamy goodness.

Seems to be a plethora of bad reviews. Overall I didn't think it was bad, it wasn't very good. More average. Wait staff were polite, topped up our tea, fast with service so I couldn't fault them for anything. The food came out fast and hot. The portion of fish that I had on my plate was double what I thought I'd be receiving but the shrimp seemed a bit on the smaller side. The only real fault from my late lunch was that there was an obscene amount of oil on my plate. I doubt any of the items would've produced that much oil. My mom mentioned that in a previous visit she was given ice cream as a dessert but this time was told that there'd be an extra charge.

This is an Italian and Mediterranean cuisine located in the Monte Carlo Inn on Woodbine. The lunch menu was a good deal. I ordered a Bruschetta & Smoked Salmon Garden Salad served with Daily Soup (Creamy mushroom soup) & Garlic Bread - $17.99. Let's start with the soup. I am not a fan of their mushroom soup just because it tasted bland and it doesn't look very appetizing. Garlic Bread was very small and looked average. The salad was in a big portion ( 3 to 4 pieces of smoked salmon and 2 pieces of bruschetta). Overall, I am happy with the main course and the dining environment. It was a place for a quick lunch gathering between friends and they are able to accommodate a large group of people.

I really want to give this place a 3.5 stars. Trips to hotel always invoke feelings of exceptional hospitality and it's no different even if it's to the Monte Carlo in town. The restaurant is accessed through the hotel so you get a chance to walk by the fountain outdoors and see a bit of the lobby before you get to the restaurant. I was actually surprised to see some people there. It was the middle of the week and we just wanted to try something new. We had our pick of tables and chose to sit by the window. We asked for both hot and cold water which they obliged. They use different shape glasses depending on the water temperature so they refill it with your preferred water which I thought was clever. The menu is very HK cafe inspired. The dinner specials seemed to be the best value since it came with a choice of appetizer as well as coffee or tea. There was another menu that was a place setting and you can also order off that although those seemed to be mostly a la carte. We were all given bread which paired nicely with the soup. There were soup options and I was interested in trying the lobster bisque. Honestly the reason I really can't give the full 4th star is because this bisque was just like straight up gravy. It was very salty. To their credit there were little bits of shrimp inside which was a nice touch but the flavor was just super off to me. My entree was pretty good though. I had the tiger shrimp pasta in a white wine sauce. The sauce was light but still had good flavor. There were veggies like pepper and onion slivers and mushrooms. A nice mix of veggies that were not offensive and didn't overpower any of the sauce. The pasta was also cooked well so I was pretty pleased with my dish. Finally, you can opt for a HK milk tea, coffee, or just English black tea which I went for. The tea comes out with a small pot of hot water for you to add to your liking and you can choose between milk or cream. The servers were all pretty nice and they were fine conversing in Cantonese and English. Perhaps it was a little more expensive than if you were at a true HK cafe but you get the nicer dining experience of being at a hotel restaurant.

    Combo A for 2

Solid takeout deal for combos. Shared the Combo A for 2 with my sister and had lots of food leftover. Porkchops and shrimp were great. Soups were good. Popcorn chicken was a bit salty. Pasta good if not a bit bland (but was fine in the context of this meal since everything else was well seasoned). Pleasantly surprised to see the veggies too since they weren't mentioned in the menu! The quality and quantity for the price is great - hard not to recommend.

I could not stop smiling when I read the description on their website about La Piazzetta Ristorante, "Exploring Fine Italian, French and Mediterrean Cuisines". The La Piazzetta Ristorante is located inside Monte Carlo Inn. The deco of the restaurant is quite nice and charming. I was there for lunch and they do have set lunch for $6.99. I ordered the Set Lunch A Meat Ball Linguine. The price is great $6.99 includes soup, garlic bread and drink. Please beware you are not eating in a "fine" Italian restaurant. You are eating in a Hong Kong Style western restaurant.... then you will be ok. The Russian Borscht soup is good and steaming hot! There are tons of fresh vegetables inside: cabbage and carrots. This Borscht does not really resemble any authentic Russian cuisine.. if you been to any Hong Kong Style restaurant you will know what I mean. I think they better off naming it as vegetable soup! The pasta at least is Al dente. The sauce tastes like something you get from a can, same with the meat balls, some frozen ones you get from the supermarket. I have to give them credit for putting in fresh green/red pepper, mushrooms and onions in the sauce. For the price and the environment as a Hong Kong Style Western restaurant I will give 3 stars. But as a Fine restaurant it is a 2 stars. The service is nice and friendly and prompt! They accepts all credit cards. Though there are some dinner specials are cash only.

You'll need reservations here for sure and best to reserve a table not the day before otherwise they'll have bar tops available. They have a second floor for a more private dining which is nice for small groups or couples, the washrooms are downstairs, floors are slippery - be careful! When we got there we got to choose between the alcohol side or kitchen bar, we chose the alcohol bar side since the bartender Jasmine greeted me immediately and complimented my outfit. This is a pricey place, more a high end kind of restaurant so if you're looking for a cheaper place, don't go here obviously. Food was pretty decent with what we ordered. The only that didn't stand out whatsoever was the salmon. I've been to many high end restaurants and in other countries so salmon isn't much of a hit typically. They sold out of the bass fillet and the mussels (specials for the night/week - forgot what Jasmine said) so if you want to try these, order asap! Drinks were great! I asked for a Caesar as my second/third drink and wanted a specific amount of spice, Jasmine just came with the tabasco and put the amount I wanted, thank goodness! I feel like we definitely got the best service sitting by the drinks bar with Jasmine just genuinely kind and chatting with us. We had a great time and will definitely be coming here again.

I couldn't really taste much of a peppercorn flavor in the sauce though. I prefer my steak on the saltier side so I asked for some salt and they gave me a small bowl of flakey sea salt (my favourite!). Lobster roll ($48): 9/10 I've never had avocado in a lobster roll before, and the flavours & textures actually worked really well together! The lobster tasted fresh and sweet. The fries were crispy and plentiful. This spot is on the pricier side, but the quality of the food, service, and ambiance is reflected in the price.

I placed an order through Uber Eats and got two regular habibi bowls, which were BOGO. I got them without any pita chips on top. I went with the original, which was chicken, tzatziki, fried onions, spicy garlic sauce, and parsley, all on rice. I chose mild hot for the bowls. I got an estimated time to pick up my order. I was at Malvern Town Centre, so it took no time to drive over here. I got here at around 3:30 pm. There was plenty of parking. I backed into a spot and headed inside the eatery. I was greeted by a friendly woman. I was the only customer. I let her know that I had an Uber Eats order under my name. She nodded and fetched a paper bag with my name on it. I thanked her. We wished each other a great day. I then headed to my car, secured the goods, and drove home. This Tahini's was the second one that I have ever visited. The one in Richmond Hill has steady business. It was a nice change that this location wasn't as crazy at this hour. For dinner, I had one of the bowls. I had the other one the following day. It was my first time having a habibi bowl. It was yummy! The chicken was delicious. It was tender and flavourful with everything in the bowl. The base was fluffy yellow rice. I should order this bowl again. The toppings were fresh. So good! The second bowl heated up fine the following day. It tasted equally as yummy. I've had the baklava at the other location. I should have some here next time. I loved my food and my experience here. My first experience wasn't the best. The business made things better when I went back a second time, but it does take a bad first experience to deter me from being a return customer. I have been driving along Markham Road (highway 48) weekly. I flagged getting takeout for dinner here a couple of Wednesdays ago. After getting groceries in Whitchurch-Stouffville, I ordered food from this Osmow's through my Uber Eats app. I got mixed proteins (chicken and beef shawarma) on fattoush salad, with garlic sauce and tahini. I tend to like anything on salad in general, but I crave salad a lot these days. My order was estimated to be ready in 25 minutes. I knew that I would arrive early with my lead foot, so I stopped by Chatime nearby to pick up some bubble tea. Osmow's is steps away from Firehouse Subs. I backed into a spot in front of Osmow's main entrance and walked in. It is strictly takeout from this eatery. All tables and chairs are stacked away in a small corner of the store. I had a nice man help me. I showed him my Uber Eats order number at the counter. He fetched my order that was in a plastic bag. I thanked him and headed out the door. When I got home, I put away my groceries and then had dinner. I like that the container keeping my food safe was compostable. I also got cutlery and napkins in my plastic bag. My mix proteins on salad was yummy. I loved the morsels of tender chicken and beef shawarma. The garlic sauce and tahini were full of flavour. I went with no spice. At Osmow's, it can get super spicy if you go hot. The fattoush salad was fresh. The iceberg lettuce was crispy even with the sauces and proteins on top. I enjoyed the ripe tomatoes, onions, green peppers, and cucumbers in this salad. I did ask that the crispy pita croutons be held. They were. Yay! I devoured my meal. It was so good. My tummy and I were happy. I have found an Osmow's location in Markham that I like. I look forward to trying more food items off the menu. I am eyeing the lamb salad next. (205)

We had called prior to ask if they took reservations and they said not unless it was for a very big group. I was familiar with the franchise and knew what I wanted to order. We got a chicken shawarma wrap, a mixed combo entree and a beef hummus. The beef hummus was as I expected. Good amount of meat and super flavorful. Really enjoyed it with the pita. It did feel a little overpriced at nearly $30 but it was tasty. The service was so so. It was very comfortable seating as it wasn't busy. We were checked on maybe once and it was hard to flag someone down to get a refill of water (which didn't happen). Overall was a decent experience and would come back.
